I came across the link to this video on my friends tumblr... what he said in the entry was so funny I had to check out the videos! :-P
from his tumblr:
Let’s hope that future works springing forth from this collaboration include “The Importance Of Being A Guido”, “The Picture Of Pauly D”, “Lady Snooki’s Fanny Pack”, “The Ballad Of Reading Ronnie”, “An Ideal DTF”, & “A Skank Of No Importance”.
Yes Oscar Wilde was Irish, yes cecily did this already, yes English people do not talk like that. Oscar's play was intended to poke fun at the aristocrats so everything is exaggerated. Also just because cecily did this already doesn't make it not funny.
@jjcake2 I realize that there are many accents and you do not talk like this, but this is how Oscar wilde's characters spoke so you can take that up with him not America. We may be ignorant, but you are making yourself look even more ignorant.
their are so many english accents and americans only portray 1 that tbh im english nd ive never heard anybody speak like that jus makes americans look stupid
@mrawsome17 i was talking about if you wanted to go in depth of english accents. i was meaning, if you really want to be picky you can count jordey as an eccent on it's own. but then you start to go into countys and north south east west etc. and then there's the weird accent that the americans do that is supposed to be english, but ends up as thsi weird hybrid that doesn't really protray english at all
@AndySDoughnuts How would you rate Geordie shore, and the Only way is essex then. I've seen geordie shore, mainly to have a good laugh but haven't attempted the other two.Probably handled geordie shore(in safe quantities) cos it only had like one series so far and a short one and now they've returned i think. I might watch just for the amusement, but don't think i could stomach the others to be honest. I actually think jersey shore is WAYY better than geordie shore.
@AndySDoughnuts The GS cast suck and bitch about each other behind their backs but pretend to be each others' friends (sounds familiar). =P They don't seem to have as strong a bond as the JS cast i don't think- too much over-the-top shock behaviour and no solid romances and all they do is promotional work whereas on JS they actually have normal jobs.Hmm why am i even surprised?
@AndySDoughnuts reality tv trash and it's a guilty pleasure (when i can handle it) It's like you just can't look away sometimes you gotta feel sorry for them cos of the way they are portrayed..:-O
It's pretty funny and full of mistakes like Fleur-de-lys in the cutscene (which is very english -.-) and sometimes the accents, and the soda in the background. But that does give it its charm. I liked it :D

Great scott! I never would have thought any entertainment would arise from the crass balderdash known as "Jersey Shore". This Youtube series compels me to reconsider.
I don't find the grammar changed dramatically! The fact that is appears to be so different is because of the background music and their accents. But overall a great video! :P
And telling people their not "special snowflakes" (by the way that phrase makes me gag) doesn't mean you're better than them. And I'm sorry but reading books DOES make you intellectual, or at least helps to increase your knowledge of the world (in Oscar Wilde's plays/ books life and human nature are explored whilst at the same time you can learn a lot about the time he lived in) . Of course then there's the sciences, which of course can all be read about in BOOKS.
Sorry, but reading Oscar Wilde's work doesn't make you a special snowflake, nor does it mean you're an intellectual. It means you've read a book. Congratulations.
@InnocenceExperience I know, it's one of my favourite books. And education != intelligence. Intellectual people are mostly educated, because of the way they percieve things and how their brains connect information, but it definitely isn't the same. Example: "Most men can grow beards, so that must mean men are beards." It's the same logic applied. And sorry for making you gag.
@InnocenceExperience Sorry, typo, I wanted to say "education != intellect". Oh, and I really do not believe that I'm better than anyone by telling people my opinion on a comment they wrote under a video on Youtube. It just describes an action, not my personality. Same thing I said about reading Oscar Wilde.
@Chaeromanie I understand. I don't think its a controversial point really. To be educated is to be knowledgeable or to have learned information but knowledge and intelligence aren't the same thing. IQ tests aren't supposed to test knowledge or acquired information but reasoning abilities. Intelligent people are more likely to be educated because they will probably be drawn to learning and understand more easily but there are plenty of v intelligent blue collar guys who never got very educated.
@InnocenceExperience I don't think it's controversial either, nor did I say something new. (I just found out that Da Vinci basically said the same thing a couple of years before I did.) It just bugged me and because I had a bad day, I couldn't resist writing a comment. It's just one of my pet peeves, not a big thing. But I really don't think IQ says that much about intelligence as some people believe. Intellectual abilities come in many shapes and forms and IQ tests just look at a few of them.
@Chaeromanie I think it says quite a lot but there are things it leaves out too like imagination, creativity, memory and maybe more practical, mechanical types of problem solving.
If somebody has a high IQ, that's the kind of person who will do well at physics or academia and who will seem logical and able to understand things if you talk to them. There are different aspects of it too, like verbal, mathematical, spatial and you can have a strength in one.
@Chaeromanie then again I don't know how much iq is innate and how much it can be cultivated. Education probably trains and cultivates people's reasoning abilities to some extent. Still there is an important and definite distinction though between knowledge and intelligence and you can get people who are naturally very intelligent without being educated.
@InnocenceExperience Afaik, IQ can be trained. I'd have to look it up. If you're interested, I could ask someone with a bit more knowledge than me. IQ tests make sense when it comes to specific psychological and/or neurological issues (intelligent people with ADS normally have lower IQs than they could have, for example), but for someone "completely normal" (the normal kind of crazy, haha), it's just another number and while it does say something about the person, it doesn't say that much.
RIP-OFF of Ceciley Jenkins!
BOOOOOOO! Bad form for stealing with ZERO credit for the idea, which was done TWO YEARS ago.
No class 'Importance Of Being Earnest' publicity. No class. You just lost an audience member for your play.

Funny video, but the comments annoy me.

Chaeromanie 3 months ago
@InnocenceExperience Sorry, typo, I wanted to say "education != intellect". Oh, and I really do not believe that I'm better than anyone by telling people my opinion on a comment they wrote under a video on Youtube. It just describes an action, not my personality. Same thing I said about reading Oscar Wilde.
Chaeromanie 3 months ago
@Chaeromanie I understand. I don't think its a controversial point really. To be educated is to be knowledgeable or to have learned information but knowledge and intelligence aren't the same thing. IQ tests aren't supposed to test knowledge or acquired information but reasoning abilities. Intelligent people are more likely to be educated because they will probably be drawn to learning and understand more easily but there are plenty of v intelligent blue collar guys who never got very educated.
InnocenceExperience 3 months ago
@InnocenceExperience I don't think it's controversial either, nor did I say something new. (I just found out that Da Vinci basically said the same thing a couple of years before I did.) It just bugged me and because I had a bad day, I couldn't resist writing a comment. It's just one of my pet peeves, not a big thing. But I really don't think IQ says that much about intelligence as some people believe. Intellectual abilities come in many shapes and forms and IQ tests just look at a few of them.
Chaeromanie 3 months ago
@Chaeromanie I think it says quite a lot but there are things it leaves out too like imagination, creativity, memory and maybe more practical, mechanical types of problem solving.
If somebody has a high IQ, that's the kind of person who will do well at physics or academia and who will seem logical and able to understand things if you talk to them. There are different aspects of it too, like verbal, mathematical, spatial and you can have a strength in one.
InnocenceExperience 3 months ago
@Chaeromanie apparently one you are an adult, you can't improve your IQ score very much, although obviously you could learn a lot of information.
InnocenceExperience 3 months ago
@Chaeromanie then again I don't know how much iq is innate and how much it can be cultivated. Education probably trains and cultivates people's reasoning abilities to some extent. Still there is an important and definite distinction though between knowledge and intelligence and you can get people who are naturally very intelligent without being educated.
InnocenceExperience 3 months ago
@InnocenceExperience Afaik, IQ can be trained. I'd have to look it up. If you're interested, I could ask someone with a bit more knowledge than me. IQ tests make sense when it comes to specific psychological and/or neurological issues (intelligent people with ADS normally have lower IQs than they could have, for example), but for someone "completely normal" (the normal kind of crazy, haha), it's just another number and while it does say something about the person, it doesn't say that much.
