I saw the entire film about 6 months ago. It was the released version. It needed a little more editing and tightening up, so I hope that the film maker was able to obtain funding to work on it a bit more. It has potential to a nice cult film.

Im a black female. I wish asian men were more open to dating outside their race. I personally think hte cultural barrier can be bigger than white and black but I would love to cross that boundarie especially if the asian guy looked like this guy! Asian men are the most underated men on the planet. I have always questioned the medias portrayal of asian men as to show they arent as masculine or attractive as other men when that couldnt be futher from the truth.

I agree with you so much, I have been into Asian guys since i was 14 (I'm 26 now). Though I have found Asian guys to 'mess around' with, It's very hard to find one that wants a relationship w/a black female. I think there is a stronger cultural barrier b/c many of the Asians around where I live (Kentucky) are first generation in this country. They do date outside their race though I always see them w/white girls! It's very frustrating!

The difference is basically the amount of time we spend with the supporting cast. Daphne's (black) boyfriend and Akira's best friend Jeremy. There's a "where are they now" montage at the end of the director's cut and some outtakes/bloopers.

I finally got my copy, through amazon, and liked it. It showed something that just isn't seen in Hollywood. Well, Asians and Asian-Americans are barely seen at all in American movies, unless they're one-dimensional cardboard characters. Hollywood can make tons of WWII movies, but can't make movies with Asian-American lead characters. Anyway, I liked your movie. The director's cut was better, but I had but one quibble. It ends without us seeing them dealing with the issues that separated them.

I had a feeling it was that. I was actually talking to a family member the other day about your short film, and how, in general, I give some leeway to films by independent directors on small budgets. I'm nowhere near as critical of them because I know the limitations. And, I actually even said in my conversation that it was probably because of the budget. But, don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it, and I've watched it twice already. It has good acting in it, it's definitely a step above most.
