  • Stephen Harper is creating a Canada that, basically, marginalizes people who wouldn't otherwise need to BUY his brand of "legitimate" success. He's against any form of skill/talent that isn't utilized to help him in some way.

Just wait, the only options for people not willing/able to fork out the cash to buy some sort of credential will be, either, to either risk their freedom ("crime") or to risk their life (military service). Just like in the USA.

  • @WhiteCanada1 These changes aren't things that will tangibly solve any of Canada's MANY economic problems, they're aimed solely at controlling how people perceive them. The conservative answer to everything is "Don't worry, be happy".

  • If you can vote online there would be a higher voter turnout

  • Conservatism is the "do nothing" option... it isn't something you do when you are in economic distress. Does doing nothing help you with your personal debt? Not a chance! When Harper talks about "stabilizing" the economy he's talking about keeping it as it CURRENTLY is. So long as the conservatives are in control we will NEVER see the end of our "economic recovery".

  • @Wallyrus Actually, the Conservatives are making a lot of changes... Non-Conservative changes... idk why Harper still calls himself Conservative lol, it's ridiculous. Some of the changes he makes are out of proportion too, like developing more outsourcing.

  • Besides...it doesnt seem to matter who you vote for anyways as 60% of us did not vote for "The Harper Government" and yet he has won a majority.

  • @mariss711 For interest sake: There have only be a handful PMs with a popular vote of over 50% and each of them were only able to do it once. Typically these guys are on our money. They include Laurier, Bordon, Diefenbaker, King, and Mulroney (ok not all of them are on our money)

39.% popular vote is one of the lower majorities - although Chretien was lower in 1997 (back when the conservative party won only 2 seats).

    Fun facts, eh?

  • N D P

  • @pilonator ????????????????????????

  • everyone vote GREEN; it would be hilarious if they won!

  • @halorulesyourface What is hilarious is how this country bends over and takes it peacefully while a boldfaced liar with nothing but contempt for democracy, informed consensus, and legal and human rights takes a majority of seats while fearmongering and licking the filthy ass of America. That is funny. Sad. True. And hilarious.

  • @SmileyGarrish yeah i can't believe that harper won a majority with all the anti-conservative psa's (and because he doesnt support gay marriage). most of the people i know are also against the tories :(

  • @aceman67 - yes I have voted in Canada and have been a DRO so I KNOW people spoil their ballots by doing the stupidest things - smiley face instead of X or X 2 circles just to name a couple !!

Come on Canadians - be smart - VOTE and do it correctly.

  • Rick Mercer is a very intelligent man. The youth vote has the potential to transform this nation -- and we need a transformation now, perhaps more than ever. Partisan politics of division have crept into our nation. Mudslinging, half-truths, outright lies, and flagrant breeches of the very foundations of our democracy have become common place. Nobody bats an eyelash anymore when corruption is discovered in the PMO. Let's change that. Let's show the politicians we're watching.

  • I VOTED!

  • For some reason, this video keeps freezing at 1:19.

  • You are either conscious or unconscious. The conscious have a voice, they think, they feel, they protest, they care and they act, by way of sending a message to Ottawa by voting for change. The unconscious complain by way of their apathetic and predictable rhetoric. They are the walking dead and all but know it. Politicians are aware of voter apathy and know youth will not turn out on May 2. Enough of the status quo! Prove them wrong! As Rick states "scare the hell out of them, VOTE!".

  • i swear it doesnt matter who you vote for.. they will all f**k up our govt! if i dont vote, i still get a right to bitch about the govt.. its called freedom of speach and my right to bitch ;) however, i will vote.. maybe for the green party.. give them a chance to mess up the govt. ;)

  • @ilovemydogstodeath And I have the right to tell you to shut the hell up and tell you to vote next time. Freedom of speech and all that...

  • @aceman67 and i have the right to tell you to open your fuckin eyes and READ jack ass.. i said i will vote.. so before you spout off.. i said IF i dont vote.. and then i said i WILL vote..i seriously hope you DONT vote, with your brain level, you couldnt read a ballot to mark an X if you cant read a simple comment..

  • @ilovemydogstodeath

Yeah you have the right to bitch even if you don't vote. It'll be petty and no one will listen to you though.

  • @PumaOPumaOPumaO open your fucking eyes and READ.. i said i will be voting, and obviously its not petty enough because you replied.. duh.. fuck you people shouldnt vote, you dont have the brain cells to know where to put the x!

    get a life dip shit.

  • I'm 18 and I couldn't be happier to finally vote!

  • Because it's necessary for SOMEONE to comment on the dislikes on any video, here it is: "Woah, 13 conservative seniors learned how to navigate YouTube."

  • Nothing shows a "responsible government" like a political party that spends most of its commercial advertising attacking other parties. To me that shows weakness; his platform must be pretty weak if all he can do is point out Ignatieff went to the states for a while.

  • Harper wanted 700 university students thrown out because the votes were done "improperly". The reality is Harper knows many students don't vote conservative. Our most educated voters don't turn up to the poll but when they do that won't vote for him, what does that tell you

  • I'm 23 and Im going out of my way to vote this year!!

  • Rick Mercer makes me proud to be a Canadian. I'm an immigrant and very happy with my choice.

  • I've voted at every single federal, provincial and municipal election since I turned 18.

Now, as a graduating student loaded with huge debt, I'm leaving canada because a higher salary will help me pay it off.

And for the people that say we have lower tuition rates than americans, think again. We have lower rates than private US schools, but all our universities are public! Why not compare ourselves to the countries that actually care about preparing their youth for the real world?

  • "Jack Layton is the hero Canada deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So, we'll hunt him, because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A Dark Knight." -ontd_p

  • Vote! But please, DO RESEARCH! It's YOUR vote to have a say, DON'T let it go to waste from lack of research! Vote for who YOU want to vote for. It was really sad when I asked my friends if they were voting they said "Yeah, I'm voting for whoever my parents are voting for." :(

  • Is Rick Mercer in the running?!?

Because if he is he has my vote ;)

  • Exactly. You can't complain if you don't vote. This is why politicians ignore education and innovation and focus on health care.

  • Vote Green!

  • Voting is pointless, they are all on the same team and we aren't part of it. you can say I have the "why bother " attitude but there really is no use, those who seek power are all psychopaths anyway.

  • @MrROTD Might as well have some kind of influence rather than none at all.

  • @tippmannshooter my friend always says: "if you're in the booth, and you don't know who to vote for, vote green!"

  • "People are dying to vote.."

It's true, our youth should vote. Other people don't have this kind of opportunity in other parts of the world. You're living in a democratic society. This is YOUR democratic responsibility. Don't use ignorance as an excuse. You're the future, let your voice be heard.

  • ANYONE VOTING FOR THAT LOSER HARPER, HA HA HA HA!!! SUCKERS! YOU'RE SOOOOO SCREWED!!! XD

  • You better believe I am voting, and I am telling all my friends to do the same!

  • Did anyone hear about Harper trying to have student votes nullified, at a Guelph advance poll?

  • RICK MERCER FTW!!

  • @tippmannshooter The two top mainstream parties love voter apathy, that way they can keep playing their games... They behave stupid and immature so that you will be turned off and not participate in the democratic process. That way they make it look like they the own political sandbox while they bully everybody who is in it and while they keep everyone else out of that sandbox.

  • Comment removed

  • Rick Mercer should be running...

  • Turned 19 this year, voting for the first time and trying to get all my friends to do the same!

And people, don't just vote blindly, get yourselves informed as to what each party stands for and who is acting in your best interests!

  • @thesupernaturalfiles I remember turning 18 and having my first opportunity to vote! Also having a difficult time understanding why many of the folks around me were not interested in voting. Somethings don't change, but nothing will change if we don't participate!!

  • I'm excited to say that we just had a 'Vote Mob' here at McGill.

Keep an eye out on youtube. CBC will be broadcasting what we did today, and we'll be uploading it to give youth around Canada an example.

  • Rick Mercer for prime minister

  • @1:20 is my favourite part. Any canadian youth that sits around while people our age get shot in other country for the right to vote, need their head checked.

  • for all the folks who are voting, first off, thank you. Secondly, get your friends to vote too.

  • If you'd like to see a recap of the 2011 debates, check my profile.

  • This is my son's response to this rant of Rick Mercer's, talking to his contemporaries about voting and the difference they could make. It's awesome, and I'm not saying that Just because I'm his mom. Check it out!

  • I hate this because I'm 19 and I've always wanted to vote. Kinda pisses me off that people just assume I don't give a shit. I join the Pirate Party when I turned 18, By the way vote Pirate Party.

  • 20 now, voting a second time. Kudos, Rick.

  • i'm 21, voting in my second election

  • I'm 18 and I'll be voting this year.

  • I'm voting... For The Bloc Québécois!

  • @Ptitnain2 bloc quebecois!!!

  • I'm 20 and I'm SO voting.

  • In my opinion we need to get rid of the conservative power. The values of conservatism are the opposite of most Canadian values. I would really like to see the liberals in power. They may have a weak leader but I like their platform

  • Nothing sucks more than voter apathy. It also bothers me all the people I've talked to who are of the opinion there's no point in voting for anyone other than the Conservatives or the Liberals, regardless of how they fell about them. If all the people who thought there was no point in voting for the smaller parties actually DID vote for a smaller party, there would probably be a lot less seats for the other two. =/

  • @tippmannshooter Well then I suggest you get involved politically if no single party satisfies your needs, you are clearly articulated enough to get your point across, which is more than I can say about most of our politicians today. I didn't call you a robot, I said they got you where they want you in the sense that you are not a partisan and you don't vote - that's exactly what "they" want, by they I mean every major political party. Did you watch the video?

  • @tippmannshooter I guess they got you where they want you. It is not "absolutely wrong". I assume you are single? Cheers.

  • This is my first election as an adult and vote I shall.

  • @tippmannshooter they will when you start voting

  • if parties were to target young voters, i but more of us would go out and vote...no one gives us a reason to...it is a self fufilling prophecy... i dont know about others, but im going to vote

  • It's not enough to just get out and vote. You must be informed enough to vote. So there should be a quiz before people vote - asking about the issues or even just naming 3 of the candidates. If you don't pass the driving test, you don't get to drive, So - if you don't pass the quiz, you don't get to vote.

  • If you don't vote, YOU CANNOT COMPLAIN ABOUT WHAT YOUR GOVERNMENT DOES! You had your chance to have your say by casting your vote, and if you don't exercise that right, you do not have the right to complain about what the government does.

  • @aceman67

    I agree 100%.

  • @aceman67 Actually, in the opinion of George Carlin... you don't have the right to complain if you do vote, as you are directly responsible for giving the idiots in parliament their jobs :-)

  • @ducttape82 ...unless you vote for a party that didn't win, yeah?

  • @xXxIndeclinexXx Carlin's bit was a joke, however he does raise a very good point in it. If there is no party you trust or agree with, why would you vote for the sake of voting? You have every right to complain if you vote or not. Carlin did not vote past the 70s because he saw both the Republicans and Democrats as bloated lying parties more concerned about themselves than the voters. He didn't support either of them, so he didn't vote for them.

  • @ducttape82

If you don't support any of the large amount of political parties available to vote for in Canada, you show up and you make that known. You take your ballot and write that on it and you make sure that it counts. There is not excuse to not vote at all- even putting in a "not voting" vote counts.

  • @crazytuffie Actually, I should make it clear that I do intend to vote, and i'm voting conservative. I worked in the local campaign office in '06 and '08. I was a scrutineer in the '06 election. I'm not working this election only because i'm in the middle of moving, so I would consider myself more politically active than most.

That being said, if you do not support any of the parties running, why would you vote for them? Forcing someone to vote is undemocratic.

  • @ducttape82 You misunderstand- I'm not telling you that we should make people vote for someone they don't support, I'm saying that if they want to influence the political happenings of this country in any way, they need to make sure their vote is counted. A no vote counts for something. Voting for no one and making sure that vote is counted means that the political leaders go, "Hey, why didn't they want to vote for us?". They will try and figure out ways to get those votes. It will change things

  • @crazytuffie I appreciate what you're trying to say, but that's not the way things are counted... If you wrote none of the above on your ballot, the counter would say "spoiled" fold it up and toss it back in the box. Nobody beyond them knows, and they don't really care. 58% voter turnout is a clear rejection of the way things are going in Ottawa, and is a great way for someone to take notice.

  • @crazytuffie - writing on a ballot or not marking it "correctly" is considered a spoiled ballot and is put aside - not counted at all. Don't waste a vote - try to find out what the parties plan to do (besides disparage other parties) and VOTE correctly but VOTE.

  • @fergie4600 LOL, have you ever voted in canada? You get a ballot with the names of who's running in your area, and a circle the size of a quarter under each name.

There's also a couple 4 foot by 4 foot posters on the walls of your voting station, as well as one in each voting station that says "Put an X through the circle" you want to vote for.

You have to completely ignore all signage and be the worlds biggest idiot to get a ballot wrong.

  • @aceman67 what if you're unable to vote because of age?

  • @nw5111 Then you don't have a say except talking with your parents who do. A good parent will vote for what they see best for their family. If they have differing points of view, well, you're up shit creek with out a paddle.

  • @aceman67 I opted out due to the fact I had no representation I could agree with in my area....does that mean I have fewer rights than you...no....I chose not to give my vote to simply the lesser of 5 evils...AND THAT IS MY RIGHT.

  • @mariss711 Voting for the first time does two things. You seem to be missing the second. Yes, it helps to elect a candidate in your riding but like you said, that only matters if someone represents you. The second, and possibly more important thing, is that it shows Elections Canada your intention to vote by becoming a registered voter. Political parties pay close attention to these statistics and will change their platforms to target registered voters. No registration. No representation.

  • @aceman67 WRONG! everyone in Canada has a right to complain whether they voted or not - it's called freedom of speech and there is no prerequisite for it. If your government does something wrong, you don't wait until four years from now to vote... you get angry and you complain. You tell your friends and family, you write your MP, you write the party leaders, and if you really angry... you can go to parliament hill with a sign and protest. You have every right to do that, whether you vote or not

  • @jazztrumpet87 it's an expression, quit raging

  • @McJigger Well it's not a very good one, now is it? Some people actually don't have a right to complain... China, North Korea, Sudan. If they complain there, they or their families are imprisoned... or disappear in the night.

I'm not an activist or nothing - but I do like to remember those facts from time to time. Keeps me from taking things for granted --like being able to vote in a fairly "fair" election.

  • @aceman67 Those who don't vote should be counted. Politicians should have to get a majority of all ELIGIBLE voters, not just those who show up to the polling station.

  • The lesser of 2 evils is still Evil. Okay, don't get it? Go watch the youtube video that explains elections in a simple short story called: Mouseland

  • I myself will keep riding the Tories until the Liberals can actually get themselves organized and make themselves a case. What kind of arbitration process occurs to decided who will be the head of their party!? It's as if they pick the easiest political target election after election.

Honestly though, how democratic can things be when you essentially have two real parties to vote for, one "attack" party, and minor players. Pick your poison.

  • What does everyone have against a Majority government? It'd be nice to see a politician have the power to do what they promise, rather than making politics all...politics. And few people actually vote entirely based on attack adds, you are all blowing this up. The youth vote is just as credible as the non-youth vote, as we haven't had some bias hammered into us for years so we can actually vote based on platform. And by the way, all are parties have become left-wing in many respects.

  • The youth vote has been targeted. Conservative attack adds will send every first time voter to the conservatives. I thought they were smarter than that but I have spoken to a few in my family and their friends and they are all voting conservative based on the attack adds. We may well end up with a Conservative majority...God help us all.

  • Vote for whoever! Just to show them that you can't push the youth of Canada around, or we'll side with someone who doesn't.

  • Comment removed

  • Mercer should be referring to the conservative party/current government alone in regards to ignoring the youth target. As far as I know, the NDP and the Liberals both have platforms that benefit or show an earnst effort in students.

  • Vote Conservative!

  • Well said! Get out there and vote. The government won't change unless we vote!

  • He speaks the truth - it isn't true that the youth are specifically apathetic in *this* day an age, versus any other, but if young ppl *do* vote, it will freak the national parties out. I'd love to see jaws drop on election night.

  • I love this times a million. It's so true, and I wish I could somehow encourage all the Canadian youth to do something about the mess happening in our government.

  • If they stopped putting tuition up and start doing thing to benefit the youth...then maybe we will vote!!!!

  • @Tayuyaflutefan101 it doesn't work that way... vote! then you have a say.... then you get to let them know what you want... otherwise?

  • When texting becomes the method of voting... and the geographic location with the most votes gets some sort of prize - and I don't mean new shoes.. more like funding for youth or environment type of prize - then youth will become the driving force instead of the 'unvoters'.

  • with my tuition already over 6000$ and going up next year, i am voting. suck it conservative party

  • 10 people are paraplegic lesbian inuit women.

  • What annoys me most is that people will whine about things that only they can change but sit there and don't do anything... This will be the first election I'll be able to vote in and I'm voting... if you're too lazy to run, at least vote. ._.;;

  • yeah i'm young and i don't give a shit about politics. so what. go ahead. hate

  • Oh that would be another Black Swan event in the making. All young people vote for alternative parties, suddenly there would be many different parties in Parliament. The Conservatives, and Liberals would freak out big time! Too bad It won't happen though.

  • People on the right always vote. People on the left, not so much. Especially young people on the left. If voting was mandatory, the Conservative Party of Canada wouldn't have a chance. But as long as lefties have a "why bother" attitude, we're in for another "Harper Government".

  • @satomiwa I agree to a point. But not all youth has that attitude; It's just painting another layer that changes the picture. It's a stereotype. Yes there is some but not all. Youth are often being told that they can’t do anything that they can't make a difference. If continued to be told those things they will start to believe it which won’t be good for Canada. The youth are the next driving force they could greatly influence the government. believe it or not some want to make a difference.

  • @satomiwa

Actually, considering that Alberta (mainly conservative) has one of the lowest voting turnouts and that the combined NDP and Liberal vote is usually higher than the conservative vote in that province, your statement requires some revision.

  • @satomiwa This is one of the dumbest posts I've ever seen. Show me proof that people on the right are more likely to vote than people on the left! Yikes.

  • @DarrylM73 people tend to be more left-leaning when they're young, then gradually lean more to the right when they get older. Not to say they become right wing, just that they tend to outgrow their leftist idealism and aversion to authority and anything they perceive as The Man once they're forced to join the real world and work, pay taxes, mortgage, car payments, etc. They also become more likely to vote. It's always been this way. Obama was a rare case where the left finally showed up to vote.

  • @satomiwa Ok, that is an interesting theory, but far from showing me any proof. And if it was true, since Canada continues to get older (our average age is older than ever), your theory should mean Conservatives winning in a landslide. Sorry, but I think apathy is an equal opportunity affliction.

  • @satomiwa I get what you are saying, and I suspect it happens to some degree, but I think there may also be a change in the platforms. From the time you grow from youth to senior what counts as right and left also changes. I'm only 32 and what counts as right wing now is on many parts of the spectrum more left than what left wing was when i was a kid.

  • @rajjins , yeah I think that's also true. I don't think I've changed much over the years, but my party loyalty has disappeared. The things I used to believe in - still believe in - used to be in one general area of the political spectrum, but now they seem to be all over the place. It makes it a bit of a challenge deciding who to vote for when each party offers some things I believe in and some things I don't.

  • @satomiwa "where the left finally showed up to vote". It helped that every black person in the country voted democrat I am sure - but I can't blame them.

  • @satomiwa Hard to believe that with all the Lifetime Liberals running around where I am from. I doubt the west would ever be red, even if what you are saying IS true.

  • @satomiwa Doesn't that make people in the left sound stupid?

  • Amen, Rick. Amen.

  • @isays touche

  • @niftybean yeah I totally understand where you're coming from. Hopefully when the babyboom conservative generation ends (sadly... I mean no disrespect) the NDP will have a chance and our gen will choose differently...

  • @smileygarrish

We don't have what is called a "True Democray" Which is where the people vote on practically every federal issue. (wars, bills, legislation). We do have it pretty good though, but I think Rick's Rant was awesome, it's important that us students vote to make our future country better.

  • I am a Canadian Citizen: I never had a chance to vote on War in the Persian Gulf, Afghanistan, or Libya; but Canadians are at war on false pretences without any real or imaginary legal authority to be invading foreign countries - just like our big loving brother to the south. Democracy is none existent in Canada - wake up.

  • @The TaggingDrummer... astoundingly intelligent argument you have there. I hope everyone bases their decision using the same logical arguments you do. I also hope people can sense sacarsm via textual comments.

  • Comment removed

  • I honestly can't think of a single politician that I actually like. They all kind of seem like dinks. Honestly, Canadian, American, or otherwise I can not for the life of me think of one so maybe if an election comes up where I actually like of the candidates then I will vote but untill then I think I will just deal with who ever we're stuck with.

  • @blueeyesaf That's such a nice cop out. What is the point of democracy then? We might as well have a king, if anyone who leads is exactly the same as the next person? If you can't tell the difference between the ideals of our political parties, you've never read anything about them. For someone who likes anime even more than I do, I am dissapoint.

  • @Xakryn I honestly think that if a King were trained his entire life before he became King and was aproved by the country then he would do a better job at running the country than an elected leader. Also we have a Queen, she doesn't have any real power but we still have her. I honestly think that with the current candidates there really won't be much difference between one or the other. If I had to vote I would go NDP simply for the good they have done in the past.

  • @blueeyesaf Then spoil your ballot. Yes, this is civil disobedience (intentionally spoiling a ballot is illegal in Canada, but there is no way to enforce it). Your current statement is "I don't care", not "you all disgust me".

  • @sweiland75 yes I am very aware that they are not the only two parties- however, I personally believe, a vote for anyone else is a vote thrown away. My options: a.Vote conservative hoping for a majority or b. Vote liberal for another minority gov or c. Vote for ndp or green which would mean I'm voting for canadians to choose lib or conserv for me.Yes I have thought this out thoroughly-- no I am not ignorant of the political system.

If I thought ndp had a chance- I'd vote for them.

  • @B3Rit3 , I hear "if I thought the NDP had a chance, I'd vote for them" all the time. Maybe if everyone who thought that way actually voted for them, they WOULD have a chance. As it is now, a lot of people who would like to vote NDP either don't bother voting because "NDP doesn't have a chance", or they vote Liberal because "they have a better chance than the NDP of defeating Harper",

  • @satomiwa 2006 - Kitchener-Waterloo riding - Andrew Telegdi (Lib) won by 13000 votes. 2008 - Kitchener-Waterloo riding - everyone thought it was a 'safe seat' so voter turnout was down and the left vote was spread too much between the liberals, NDP, and greens. Peter Braid (Con) wins by 17 votes

  • Yes!! Go vote so that the banks and politicians can further steal from you!

  • vote for who thou? all of our parties suck

  • @pap3rkut01 Then you need to get informed and vote for the one that sucks the least.

  • @PurpleLava It's a sad thing when you have to vote for the people that sucks the least as opposed to the party you believe in the most.

  • @Dispiacere But you know what, I really don't believe all of our parties suck. Thats just an excuse people use when they don't care about Canadian politics but are too embarrassed to admit it....If you are actually informed about the different political parties and how our democracy works compared to many other countries, you wouldn't be so cynical and apathetic. Canadian democracy works. Harper needs to be kicked out, there is no doubt about it.

  • @PurpleLava Harper thinks the title of PM gives him free reign to do whatever he wants. He lacks integrity, and frankly I have no respect for him... But if you don't like Iggy then there is Jack Layton (the NDP acted as a far more effective opposition party ithen the Liberals), and Elizabeth May (who is open and honest in what she says - shocking!) who you can vote for. If the citizens don't vote then democracy doesn't work. So if you don't do your part and vote, guess what? You suck too.

  • @PurpleLava But they all suck equally.

  • @abbath1586 I feel like you're just saying that for the sake of it. Can you please provide me with concrete examples?

  • that last bit got to me.. lol

  • @MDRV500 That asshole has trying to bring us American politics for his whole term; let's throw that bum out!

  • that wall is sick

  • Pirate Party of Canada! Also, harper can go fuck himself.

  • im 20 and now imma go vote

  • ABC

  • There's too much apathy, from Canadians, towards Canadian politics.

  • Well said, Rick!

  • Very true, I love Rick Mercer

  • dead on true

  • Vote Anders out

  • Rick Mercer 2011

  • Don't vote strategically; vote for the party you want to win. If you like the Green Party don't vote Liberal, vote Green party! If a party gets a big enough share of the votes they will get federal funding and stand a better chance of winning next time.

  • ya lets go green party

  • @someguy123428

    Woo go green!

  • Vote while you still have the right to do so! The less the nation votes, the more likely somebody in power will say, "Take away their right to vote, they weren't using it anyway"

  • @bastlake we voted rob ford in...

that wasn't old folks that did that!

  • Rick Mercer is this countries treasure...which means I hope he's NEVER is given the "Award Of Canada".

  • this is my first chance to vote (i'm 19) and i will DEFINATELY be voting!

  • Rick Mercer is as brilliant today as he was 10 years ago, i just love his rants

  • I'm 22 I always vote :p I dunno who's worse this year-- I hate to vote conservative but I'd hate to vote for iggy loser face, it's time the liberals change up their leader. Iggy has to go. :) ok that's my rant. I'm done, u can stop reading now.

  • @B3Rit3 You are aware that Canada has more than two political parties, are you not? The Liberals and Conservatives are virtually the same party and the NDP are NOT extremists.

  • As Unions have been virtually eliminated or at least been stuffed in the closet in Canada over the last few decades, it seems to me that the NDP should throw in its remaining chips with the Green Party and thereby Unite The Left. No use trying to influence the Right or the Middle if the Left is split.

  • I'm 19 and I'll be voting :)
