Absolutely Magnificent. The way the song goes up (raga) and down (raga) is truly amazing and has a great rhythmical flow- one of my favourite. Seems like Kerala. Malyalam version is also appealing.
Thnx,Boredtill....thnx for makin me nostalgic of my coll dayz....stl remembr havin bunked coll n goin for this flick...juz orderd the movie CD n gonna watch tonite agn....thnx a million newayz..
Hey finally i have bought CD of this movie, Good movie i liked this movie, i hv already seen 6times this movie n about the song its uncountable. i really miss my hubby very much.
A great song which makes me nostalgic and makes me hear this again and again along with its Malayalam counterpart "avalude ravukal".Both these versions have interesting variations. This one is slow and quiet, whereas the other one is energetic and sexy.
One of the best song of " LATA JEE ", & " ROSHAN JEE ". DVD of this movie is not available in the market yet. i have tried New York & New Jersey but failed to find it.
I like the malayalam song than Hindi. Please listen to Ragendu Kiranangal from the movie Avalude ravukal ,Malayalam film directed by I. V. Sasi, released in 1978. The film explores the life of a teenage prostitute and those of the people around her.Classic movie
I listened to the Malayalam number few mins back, but feel Lata has done more justice to the song than Janaki (Note: I am a big fan of S Janaki). The vocal variations are much better in Hindi, also Lata's pitch modulation is lot better. (3:46 - 4:00) Would not blame S Janaki but I guess the tune was tailored for the language/film/genre.
I.V Sasi, film director took this song track into the malayalam film Avalude Ravukal for the song Ragendu kiranangal. I.V. Sasi met his "future" wife, Malayalam actress Seema, on the sets of his film, Avalude Raavukkal. Ever since, she has been his favorite heroine.
My Lord, WHAT A FILM THIS WAS!!! -- SIMPLY INCREDIBLE IN EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD. Basu Chatterjee, who happens to be one of my most respected directors of all time, created magic with this Shabana Azmi-starrer, for the plot, the script, the music, the acting...everything was par excellence!! The concept of compromising & forgiving others for the sake of peace, love, & harmony was taken to a totally new, higher level, as Basu took us on this remarkable journey to a life of marriage & family.
Thanks a lot dear, i was searching video version for years. God Bless You...What a sole touching music by Rajesh Roshan...Fantastic ...My favourite no. of Lata ji.

The village scenery is simply mesmerizing -- makes one long to live there for the years to come.
This is my favorite Shabana film. She looked drop-dead gorgeous in every second of the film.
Thank you so much for the upload!!

The melody and tune is just out of this world! I simply love this song.
I would never have guessed that the music is Rajesh Roshan. It has a gazhal-tinge to it, almost making me think Madan Mohan.
Thank you for adding, Boredtill.
