I came across a shiny zapdos after a lot of sof-resetting for good nature ivs, and hidden power. but when I caught it it had shitty nature, iv's and stats so I reset the game. I dunno if I was an idiot to do that but I already have like 15 shinies in my hgss so I guess not.
so if you keep soft resseting, you might have a chnace to get a shiny pokemon? i'm just wondering. since i want to try this for the next event coming soon. because shiny pokemon are cool and all.
On condition the Pokémon is sedentary, yes. A roaming Pokémon's IV's, nature, gender and shininess are preset. Pokémon you receive via mystery gift aren't preset either, I'm not 100% sure about the shininess but the IV's, gender and nature can be altered by soft-resetting. So most likely, you can soft reset for a shiny as well.
Of course, the information I provide is obsolete. I haven't played Pokémon for decades.
Nature changes the pros and cons you get toward stats. Example: In this video, Shiny Zapdos is Modest. Modest increases Sp. Atk. by 10% and decreases Atk by 10%, which is good for Zapdos because if you are using special attacks you as might as well decrease attack over a defense or speed, because you wont be using ordinary attacks anyway. Zapdos' special attack is better.
Thanks, at least I'm lucky with the modest nature.
Maybe I'm going to ev-train and use it in WiFi battles after all, but it's probarbly better to let him stay untouched. I'm not planning to trade it or something, but I just don't like Pokémon with random ev's that aren't maxed xD

Soft resetting for a shiny legend is a pain, I could put the Zapdos on Emerald and clone it for you if you can offer me something useful for it.

Congrats on the shiny Zapdos. It's too bad it has bad ivs but it's still a shiny anyway.
