Two stroke 80's have some of the funnest power bands if you ask me. I had a YZ 60cc as well. That bike on an 11 acre track could not be shifted out of third gear. It was that quick. Not to mention I weigh 230lbs. Bike was just silly.

It is the point at where the engine is producing maximum power in the rev range

and each engine design varies as to where the maximum power is generated at what rpm

also power curves are different for each engine ( like a bar graph)

power curve is all the outputs at a specific rpm all charted together

My brother had one of these nearly 20 years ago. I was around ten years old and that thing was bad ass. I could keep the front wheel up from 1st gear to 5th on power alone. Looking at the wheelbase I can see why. You are sitting almost directly over the rear wheel. An 80cc mx bike is loads of fun for an adult.

Idiots with the powerband comments...You do realize every thing with a motor has a powerband,it's also known as the torque curve.It is the point of rpm's where the engine makes the most power.There are no "bands" to adjust,you guys are idiots

A top end rebuild isn't a bad thing. If you ride it and want it to last, top end replacement parts(piston,rings,and plug) and a good bore honing job would only help it last. Stock is not really a good thing. a new fmf silencer, reed valves, chain and sprocket would help dramatically and don't forget; the fatty pipe is a must! I have one too. HEED MY WARNING :P
