@hollywoodfan1011 Travel and Tourism is one of the most competitive industries to get into. Cabin Crew arent ditzy and dumb. And you'll find that with every airline, they all say "We only employ the very best" and sometimes a bad crewmember slips through, but Cabin Crew are clever people. Just because we use calculators, it doesn't make us stupid. It just means we're not that fond of counting in three different currencies.

no doubt Emirates is a great airline, very good staff and service however, I was extremely disappointed flying on the A380 in economy and couldn't wait to get off the aircraft!!! It felt cramped, and no better than a truck carrying cattle...very disappointing for both the much vaunted A380 and Emirates!!

A nice TV ad for Emirates but... Milena (Brazilian name) was born in São Paulo (Brazil) enoyed the pleasures of the beach (well related) studied French (so far so good) and enjoyed curry... Curry doesn't belong to none of all the regional or national Brazilian cuisine and Brazilians aren't even familiarized with it. Yet... an Hindi lady around the kitchen... Brazil has very few Indians, not enough to suggest the advertising. So... Can anyone explain me that? Would appreciate.

milena could be a slavic (east european) name too, so brazil may be the place of her birth only. later she could have had moved to any other place, enjoying the local beach there and could have studied french anywhere else. as for the indian lady, what if she was a friend's mum? the ad doesn't suggest that milena got born and stuck in one place. it says she's so multicultural, so most likely moved around all her life.

@rodolpho979 The ad just simply wants to say that their flight attendants are multinational so the stuff mentioned in the ad really has no relation to each one. Milena is a mix of cultures therefore making her the type of flight attendant for Emirates.

Emirates is not a Saudi Airline it's based in the United Arab Emirates a Country where the majority of local women don't cover their faces and live very free privileged lives. They are educated, they work,they drive, they shop till they drop at the finest stores. But it's still a conservative muslim culture so you wont find many of the women venturing out by their selves to travel alone. Their fathers and brother are very protective of them and from what I see they spoil them.

there are arabs in the flight, but mostly the passengers are not arabs so they find other people who speak other languages 12% arabs in each flight, and the pilot and the superviser are arabs

Well have you been to the UAE? There's more foreigners than locals. So like the city of Dubai EK has a mix of cabin crew. It's an international airline so the crews are international coming from more than 120 countries including crew from the UAE. Nawaf EK only has to put one arabic speaker on board the plane and the pilots and supervisors come from all over the world too.

It might be by accident that most of their cabin crew are quite good looking. But in the end it's about the personality, the special touch.

On my open day, I barely expected to succeed and thought that one very beautiful arab girl would, but in the end it was the other way around. She failed after the first round, there was no spirit, no warmth or smile.

Sure the whole multi-national crew thing going on seems nice, but it makes it hard for the crew sometimes to bond together with common culture. Thats one of the reasons why I think EK staff isn't as great as some make it out to be. Try SQ, MH, or TG for the best cabin crew.
