I just noticed on my new Fedora build on my Macbook (dual boot), that I was getting some distortion. I removed pulseaudio and now I do not hear the distortion anymore. Maybe try removing pulseaudio (yum remove pulseaudio)
Thanks for the speedy suggestion cm! Sadly, I don't have pulseaudio installed. However it is good to know that you can get decent audio without kernel hacks so I will persevere.
I have several variants of Debian on various partitions to experiment with, 32 and 64bit.
As I haven't used gtk-recordMyDesktop, I'm not sure. A while back, I needed a screencap program and discovered the feature in Cinelerra. The one advantage I can think on is that since I edit in Cinelerra, I have one less step to perform (import the video).

In Cinelerra, when I try to view a video, for some reason it's fast forwarded and theres no audio, please help! :(

Thanks for helping with this. I'm not sure if I'll use Cin or recordmydesktop. It looks like Cinelerra can pretty much take care of everything!

Nice tute, thank you...
did you have to hack your kernel to boost the audio buffers?
or do anything like that coz when I try i get audio dropouts..
and I'm on a dual core with 4G RAM

gtk-recordMyDesktop is more intuitive and easier to use, it seems. What are the advantages of using Cinelerra for screencapturing over it?

Interesting feature, important tutorial on FreeSoftware (Please add tags: GNU/GPL).
Could you possibly normalize sound or speak up a bit? Thank you.

Hi,
which version of cinelerra ?
How did you get ALSA as audio input ? apparently, there is a bug when changing from OSS to ALSa and cinelerra scratches.
thanks.

apparently not..but it might be a good test to see if mouse trails or other visual effects on the cursor would show up.
