It just seems to me that you equate masculinity and maleness with a certain type of gay man. This is part of society's problem in both the gay and straight community: catagorizing what being a man means, based upon one's mannerism and comportment.

Thank you for such a detailed comment. I am not sure how many boxes it will take for me to respond LOL. There are a few reasons why I feel the way I do and why I present myself in the way that I do. First and foremost I think that the media [all forms] has done a bad job of showing the United States [if not the world], what its like to be a gay person [man specifically I suppose]. They show us, for the most part, in a negative light. Living up to all the stereotypes.

I do realize that the blame cant be placed completely on the media or the gay men that cash in from that success, but never the less, it does bother me. I could easily say something like "I have a lot of gay friends that are more flamboyant" but that would only be patronizing, so I wont. I suppose another part of it is that most of the time they dont like me, and having that happen for so long has sort of pushed me away from those "types".

I also realize that it would take a very closed minded person to assume that all guys that fall into that category would be the same. I dont assume that @ all, rather just expect it. I am often surprised when someone that I expected to be exactly like the rest is different. I resent those that just follow the leader and dont try to push for anything new, exciting or creative.
