hi im gettin acl surgery done, im a soccer player and i need to be able to put insane amounts of stress on my knee and i was goin around youtube askin people about their surgery and recovery, i was wondering if you knew what type of graft you had done (patellar tendon or hamstring tendon) how would you describe the pain the few days after surgery?? and do you have any restrictions in movement or pain at all when playing sports?? any info would be greatly appreciated
It's been 6 months since i had my acl done with a cadaver craft,my Dr. also told me from now I'll need wear a knee brace to play sports, at first i thought it would sucks to play soccer wearing a knee brace, but after he explained me the reasons i need wear it,i will make sure to get a customized one as he adviced me. I dont feel any pain on my knee, but i know i have a long way until build up the strenght on my leg. I will get there.... good lucky to y'all !!!
i had acl reconstruction by hamstring and meniscus repair its been 3 months since iv had surgery and i still cant fully straighten my leg and my doctor has told me my meniscus repair has failed which is a bummer i dont my knee last year in football (soccer) and its obviously got worse and i hurt it a couple of days ago when i kicked a ball wrong but thats my fault and i keep getting clicking in my knee to
Great to see how well your doing. I tore my ACL and surgery last August. I thought I was well on my way to recovery as early as Thanksgiving. As of the last month and a half I've had a relapse of sorts.I think it started right after I began my second stint of rehab, where I was now lifting heavy weights instead of reps. My knee is now swollen and tender all over. Do you think the fluid build up may be at fault ?? Did you experience anything like this during your recovery. Thanks man.
@6400az hm you should check with your doctor ! i had my ACL surgery after you, in december, and even tho it has been a long time my doctor told me that he wants me to wear a sport kneebrace for every time i do exercise, sometimes i dont wear the kneebrace for therapy but after that it hurts a lot
Thanks for the comment, appreciate it. As it turned out the only thing wrong with my knee was the fluid build up. Yep, tha was it. Once drained it felt almost like before the injury. I've been working out hard since. Biking and walking up hills and stairs. Finally, I am truly getting better and the only problem I have now is I have to rebuild the quadricep muscle.
Shortly after surgery, the surgeon and rehabers insisted I stop wearing the brace. Not even for work outs.
