It doesn't sound bad as a whole. It sounds EVIL, satanic. Within that in mind, you could rewrite this and make it sound right if you cut out some parts. It reminds me of the atmosphere of the chanting in Eyes Wide Shut
I don't think you meant for this to be bad. I think you're worried that if we knew that you tried to make it sound good we'd start ripping on you for making a bad song. So if you rip on yourself first then we can't rip on you. Just a hypothesis. Sounds fine.
It is a good theory; Here's the practice. It was intentionally designed as a terrible song. The lyrics were terrible; and then translated into German with Google translate. Sonically, there is a giant hole between the bass and the vocalists. Harmonically, the dissonances are haphazard at best. They resolve at weak points in the rhythm. This is a compositional joke. Sometimes you can write a piece of music that breaks all the rules, and ends up awesome. This isn't it. :-)
@kmmusic My mistake. I guess now that you mention it the dissonance does make my ear itch a little. I dunno, I still think it sounds fine. I could definately slay some vampires to it.
Sounded dark and moody to me. I can picture it being used In a rainy battlefield scene on a movie with dead soldiers and one lone one alive kneeling down whilst crying.
Well I am a musician and I loved it. If you think a regular tonal structure is essential to good music, you are stuck in the 1800s. Ever heard of Vincent Persichetti?
Wow, just with head phones this song was hitting me in the gut, definitely NOT the worst song ever, the tones are just very unsettling, this could make a cheesy movie scary
Schmetterling ... Schmetterling ;o) The rest I can't really hear but I actually have issues listening to lyrics in songs even in my language. The melody, beat and rhythms are going more into my mind than the lyrics.
At least the translation for butterly = Schmetterling is correct ;o)
lol well we used to play a game in The Sims Online to pass the time where we'd bump annoying songs out of our minds by replacing them with songs that were even more annoying. Which was odd since we were typing song titles and lyrics and relying on people's subconsciousnesses to play the soundtracks. I forget which song finally won. Mr. Roboto? Numa Numa?
i think this guy has you beat.

I got constant chills from the lack of tonal spacing. This is incredibly creepy sounding. Bravo for unintentionally making something awesome.

Dude this is hard to listen to most of this for me ........ Is that how it is for anyone eles?
SNOWGOON895 1 year ago
A musician would laugh at this. The regulars though would think this is pretty, but i chuckled at the absence of tonal structure. lolz.

Hey, look at it this way: You have to be REALLY talented to intentionally write and/or perform music badly.
And as far as intentionally bad music, this was wonderful.
