When i close my right eye and stare at myself in the mirror with my left eye without blinking, after some seconds my vision goes blind (black) so my face seems to disappear in the mirror for few seconds than come back.
also it seems like i have a permanent disturbing flickering thing on the inner half side of my left eye's vision which never seem to go away.
this only happens with my left eye.
I'm 21 years old, nearsighted (around −4.0 diopter on both eyes) stabilized vision.
I'm 21 and my eyes have started to hurt more dull aches, I've got watery eyes and sensitivity to light which ive had for some time and it's like I can feel pressure at the back of my eye, are 21yr olds usually affected by this?!
I found out today that I have Glaucoma and may have to start eye drops. I am not worried because things eventually wear out with the human body, it's to be expected. I roll with what life dishes me....Oh well!
hi, i lost my far vision when i was younger and i regret it i really want my vision back, i tried eating carrots, sleeping more, etc..... no changes :(, if anyone can help me please , thankss
Wednesday Aug 10 2011 4p.m. (est) Just yesterday i had my usual eye check up. I learned that i may have Glaucoma in my left eye. I need to go back for a morning appt. on Aug 24 at 9:20 a.m. HATE morning appt. NOT a morning person. I am FRIGHTED about this my nerves are anything but calm . I PRAY i will be ok. The good news (i hope and pray) is i was told if i do have it and given the times we are living in un-like yester years i won't go completely blind because the treatments available.
I know 2 people who have it from birth, one totally legally blind, but, I also know a woman in her early sixties who was just diagnosed with it, her doctor told her she will not go bline, what a relief that was
okay, recently i just started having problems with my left eye. i'll be walking down a normal lit hallway and then when i turn off the light, my left eye and around that area starts to hurt. i have to keep it closed for a while to make it feel a little better but it is still uncomfortable. i may also become diabetic when i'm older because my mom had to watch her sugar level when she was preganant and still now occasionally.
@MDiTVinc NO. Its just one of those things. Symptom wise you wont notice until its quite bad OR if you have a sudden attack of Glaucoma, which is a medical emergency. You would no if that was happening as you would have sudden pain in your eye and probally vomiting.
guys u have to be strong..i got gloucoma when 1m 16 years old..know im 23 years old..my right is almost blind..and my left eyes not much clear vision..i cannot futher my study..bcoz i almost blind..u have to continued eyedrop 4 ever to make sure ur never get blind..i come from poor family..i have to work to buy the eyedrop xalatan..
@TheVagabond87 I have a Congenital cataract in my right eye since when i was born and i found out that my optic nerve on my left eye (good eye) is different then my right eye. I wish the optic nerve was on the cataract side Because I want my good eye to stay where its at. they also found a scar on my left eye which is common but you never know. I maybe in high risk so Im going to a opthamologist to take pictures of my optic nerve soon
Must have eye checks regularly to be safe. Some opticians have machines to test IOP (using air puffs) but an opthalmologist has perhaps more sensitive equipment.
Is the tonometer test done when you go in for regular eye exams with an optometrist (in Canada)? Or, do you have to ask to have one done? And how long does it take for you to lose all of your vision after the onset of glaucoma?
I was born with glaucoma and i am male 30 years old. I had been using eye drop (MSD's timolol maleate, Xalatan) since i find myself can't see properly. it had been 15 years.
I have claucoma. I don't know from which time..The doctor said when I was born until I grew up to my 12th year I'm health, but now I live 6 years with claucoma.I'm 18. In my city just one doctor exist that know about claucoma and he say that it don't would be better, and it don't would be bad.. I feel s***... I live in Munich (Germany)

People with diabetes are also at risk. Some people develop visual problems-glaucoma as a results of diabetes & may even go blind.

Good reason to get your eyes examined annually. Glaucoma has no symptoms.
