  • Great. Thank you.

  • im trying to play a game that i downloaded but it says that i dont have read and write priviliges, what do i do?

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH YOU WIN

  • PERFECT A+ THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  • my hard drive got messed up and its sayin˙ NTFS-3G could not mount /dev/disk1s1 at /Volumes/Iomega 1 beacuse the following problem occured ...

  • Thanks a lot man. This was the easiest of all the videos i searched for to help with read/write on mac.... I have another question though-Is there a program to help with transfer speed on mac? Windows had teracopy which was great...what about mac?

  • THIS WORKS! GOOD JOB! I saw some other videos a few months ago and it didn't work so I gave up.

Thank you for not speeding up the clip and following all of your cursor movements. Not having the install was not a problem in this case as there was nothing tricky about it and the quality of the image didn't matter either.

Thanks again for your help. Please continue to post videos like these as they are very valuable!

  • Ahh. finally... now i can actually start with the shitload of work i got till toworrow. had to get files from a mac to my pc and the damn HD was difficult and the cd rom didnt work so i couldnt burn the files and i tried this hacking stuff some 8 year old posted on youtube and that didnt work and before that i got macfuse but i didnt know about the damn ntfs-3g thing!!!.....sweet relief!

  • thank you so much! it works perfectly fine =)

  • thanks alot for that mate. it worked a treat on my hard drive. ive just tried it today with some dvd-r's discs. containing wav files again. it wont work? i installed the nfts-3g again.....but still nothing. any ideas?

  • im pretty un computer minded to be fair. i have a 1tb hard drive that has wav files on, it was written on a pc. i need to convert them so i can arrange them to my own preferences. do i just do this? with the hard drive conected up ? your help would be great

    thanks

  • @jasonjohnc00 Yeah. Just install the programs, restart, and you'll be able to read and write to that drive. Note that you don't have to have it plugged in to your computer while installing the programs though.

  • @UnholyMist thanks man. just what i needed :)

  • @UnholyMist thanks mate. tried it today with discs though and no good? i even installed the ntfs 3g again.......still dont work. any ideas? they are dvd-r discs containing wav

    cheers

  • @jasonjohnc00 They're discs? Hmm... well there's no reason a disc wouldn't work... even without these programs installed. What Operating System wrote those discs?

  • @UnholyMist are u sayin we shouldnt plug the harddrive to to the mac while the installation proceeds

  • Fantastic - you are legendary

  • Spot on! Just install the programmes, restart, and you're done None of this going to your terminal and putting loads of weird coding in. Good lad!

  • OMG Thanks alot !!!! It worked, I wouldnt have been able to use my Seagate 1 TB on my macbook if it werent for this vid! Thanks again!!

  • its asking me for a serial or a 15-day trial! What do i do?

  • @ihacklock It shouldn't. Make sure you downloaded NTFS-3G and not Tuxera NTFS... The link in the description takes you there directly.

  • @UnholyMist yeah i figured that out later and i got ntfs-3g but it blows. its like 3 bytes/per second transfer speed. so i just uninstalled it and i got the trial for paragon and cracked it for the full version(: Thanks for the help though!

  • "In more technical terms, MacFUSE implements a mechanism that makes it possible to implement a fully functional file system in a user-space program on Mac OS X (10.4 and above)."

It doesn't necessarily change your system as much as it adds some stuff.

  • Does MacFUSE alter anything on your Mac?

  • @ShoobieStomper if your worried about it voiding the warranty, it doesnt. But if you mean if it writes files to the mac, then yes, of course it does. when you install something, or even download something, it alters the mac

  • i have a NTFS external HD,,want to format it to FAT32 so my mac can read and write to it, or should i do ito mac extended or whatever that is called. Also before i Format it to FAT32 should i back the data up?

  • go with FAT32 bacause windows PC cant read mac jorunaled, unless thats what u want lol, with FAT32 a PC & mac both can read and write, unlike journaled only macs can write pcs just read.

  • @cavalierblue FAT32 is unreliable in case of interruptions (freezing, power down) regarding data writing, it gets fragmented real easy and has a 4 gb limitation per file. It is just not suitable to current operating systems.

  • Hey man everything works but its really slow like copy is 200KB/s what is that? Can I speed it up pls help thnx lot

  • I'm not sure there's anyway to speed it up. I don't use this to copy, I use it to write so I don't even know if it's that slow.

I'll try copying and get back to you with my speed...

  • one ? was wondering if windows xp would run slow using this format of ntfs3g?

  • Thanks a bunch, dude.

  • THX

     nice tutorial

  • Hell yea man!!!! Thank you soooo much for this... awesome.

  • Thanks so much man! ur awesome. really aappreciate the help. now i dont ahave to reformat my hardrive!!!! 5*

  • Thanks!

  • Should you install both softwares on your mac or on the external hard drive?

  • Just install them on whatever drive you have OS X installed.

  • Great video, you just saved me the cost of an extra HD! The other video that uses these downloads tells you to recode parts of the system and a bunch of other crap. I posted a link to your video from the other tutorial. Much more straight forward. Installed it, plugged in my HD, and it worked! Thanks a lot!

  • hey, i have a question. I read something about mac not being able to write on NTFS disks... i was wondering, if it cant write on it, can I open and open files from an NTFS with a mac? please answer. I need help. thx

  • Nice video dude. I didn't quite catch the name of the program to download. Also, will it write files to an external FAT32 HD?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Mac OS X can already write on FAT32 HDs.

  • How about the name for the program to download. NTFS3G is one of them. What is the other one called?

    Thanks!

  • Thanks Man For the Great Vid...

  • For a non technical guy like me, this video rocks!! All the other demos got way way way to confusing when all I want to do is write to a NTFS partition so my windows user can read data on a PC.

    THANKS!

  • Lol, thanks alot. :)

  • very nice job, this is the first video out of about 10 that actually made complete sense and well described.

  • Thanks!

  • Nice! Was looking for something like this. Thanks!

  • great... 5 stars to u.

  • Nice program.

And by the way, it's pronounced Mac OS 'Ten'. X is the Roman numeral for 10.

Just thought I'd pointed that out.

  • I know, I realized that after I posted it but I've been too lazy to fix it and re-upload it.

I usually mess up and say 'Mac OS Ex' anyway. I have to start writing 'Mac Os 10' from now on...

    Thanks for pointing that anyway...

  • Haha, don't worry about it man. ;-)

  • Very Useful stuff, thanks a lot!

  • thx :D

  • THANK YOU!

  • awesome info.

  • thanks
