Well it acts as a filter- for the the part your refering to halfway through the verses and the bridge he uses a mf-101 moogerfooger low pass filter. For the Solo he just uses his Ibanez Wah.

Well in this version i'm pretty sure in the little licks in the verse he's using a low pass filter, which is like an auto-wah kind of. But in the After-Chorus solo thingy and the main solo he uses an Ibanez WH-10
