@LiamXaom they are arbitrarily defined as in they are made up imagery like a scorpion or a crab which the stars do not even resemble. Then generalized personality types which all people have the potential for are then superimposed and appeal specifically to those that fit the predefined archetype. For people who are supposed to be open minded... you know the rest, it's written in the stars. :P

Also remember perspective. If we travelled a long way away from our position in space then the constellations we know would not appear any more because the relative distances of the stars would have changed.

Both time and space make it completely arbitrary. Or we could wait many more millions of years and we won't see any stars at all!
