  • The anode that must be replaced when it dissolves is not there for the "plating out of minerals" but for the stopping of electrolytic corrosion, the cause of rust-through.

  • Thanks! Very helpful.

  • I would highly recommend NOT using a crescent wrench on nylon or brass fittings

Use the right size wrench this way you won't deform the fittings as their soft and become rounded after time .

  • Could have drained off the water pressure by the T&P over pressure valve before removing the drain plug.

  • What about the bypass valves? What about if your fresh water tank has antifreeze in it?

  • What about disconnecting the electric if it is an electrical water heater so you don't burn the element up, or risk shocking yourself.

  • do you need to use any kind of chemical also

  • Just wanted to say THANK YOU, my hotwater tank was full of build up and wasn't working properly. I watched your video and wa la...I went outside and did it.

  • Great info, But make your notes bigger or just list topics and chat about them off your head! It wont look like your reading us a book and makes it more personal!

    Good video!
