  • what works better with the casters

    pvc pipes or metal pipes?

  • I've found that metal works best, as casters will tend to stick somewhat with pvc. It also helps to apply some WD40 to the pipes - just spray some on, then wipe down the pipe with a rag.

  • ok cool. ima try it out. thanks

  • what sized casters did you use?

  • I believe it was just the standard size...if you buy your casters and fencing poles at the same store, you can check to see if the caster will run correctly on the pole.

  • good job man, easiest and cheapes...and most effective i've seen yet

  • Where can I get one of those leather covers?

  • ? What are you talking about?

  • Your peice of 2x2 board has a black cover on it.

  • it's more like a grip tape, is what he is asking

  • Where can I get one of those leather covers.

  • i luv ur hand motions

  • I built it! I used PVC pipe, and it works GREAT! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!

  • wait i don't get it...won't the casters just roll right off when put on the poles (as they are cylinders)?

  • Nope. You use casters with grooves on the bottom.

  • just built this a few hours ago with a modification but im very pleased with it thanks!

  • Glad you liked it!

  • Where did u get the casters? I can't find any which have a gap in the middle!

  • I picked them up at Lowe's. It probably won't be listed on their website, but should be in the hardware department.

  • can i get them at home depot too?

  • You should be able to. Just ask an employee where you can find office chair casters with grooves in them.

  • i made a dolly but ended up making up i rollercoasr

  • Haha, nice video Ryan. First time hearing you talk, nice shots though with the dolly, I didn't even realize you'd used a dolly for that shot in Friend. Cool though, it does add a ton to the production value. That and a jib and it's Hollywood's worst nightmare...or best thing since Christmas...I dunno how they'd see it...

  • Uhm... It seems a great job and I don't see great differences of results between this and the more expensive models whith 45° inclinated skateboard wheels. I wait for other opinions...

    Bravo!
