I have been a 92A for the last 3years and i have loved it i work in a motor pool and its not bad. dont have to count nuts and bolts all day and we dont have civilians working with us. I just sit by the computer and do my job from there go to receive parts once a week. its not to bad it depends on where you r stationed i guess but the bad thing is that if you entnd to reenlist its had and harder to get promated
@tw08adam Good luck to you! This was a great training there in Ft. Lee. Just don't fall asleep in the classes. They are very long, but just hang in there. Good luck to you!
This is a boring MOS.... Civilians do about 3/4 of the work at most bases. I graduated top of my classs from AIT as a 92A and then got assigned to SAM/S training where I also graduated top of the class against soldiers that had already put in years of active duty. Didn't do anything they taught me in training..... stood around and counted nuts, bolts, and washers all dang day.
@jdcountrymama I was in that same category in Korea (just counting nuts, bolts, and washers). I hated that. But when I got stationed in Ft. Bragg I had to count maps (Map Depot), which it too was run by mostly civilians. I had coined the term "Warehouse Rat". Because it felt like being one when you had to stay in that warehouse all, darn day.
Well lets put it this way we all need each other period backbone or not who the F cares answer me this can a human body survive with out a heart no and with out the backbone is the human body useful no see we all need each other instead argueing about nonsense how about we pray for every troops that dedicates their lives for this great nation.
I am former Manager at Lowes I can tell you most of these 92 series jobs are only good for working retail at Home Depo & Lowes. If you got a low Asvab score don't be fucking lazy just re-take the damn test so you can have something better to pick from. My cousin & I are joining & these lame jobs were available to him. If your watching cuz don't sign until you get better MOS offers. This shit is useless don't fall for the Big Bonus trap!
I dont think this MOS is bad but i think is bad for those who are keen to do real military things; doing live combat but if u wana be an office type guy then go for it...
@heyydogz I assume your question was already answered elsewhere, but I'll answer right here. By combat action, do you mean deployment? If so, yes. My dad is a sergeant and this is his MOS, and currently in Iraq. If you mean a firefight or any sort of shooting, only if your base is under attack or something happens where you're put in a fight-or-die scenario.
LMAO...... your going to drive a FORK LIFT!!!!!!!!!!! HAHA how did i end up driving a DAM M1A1 tank? Omg the army vids are so classic.. going to add this to my books. 92A is like the best in the army.. always dry always needed.. we are what keeps the units at their best and WE SAVE THEM ALOT OF MONEY.. If you cant handle this one then yea your a DIRT BAG... Lol idk.. i still run around with dam tanks and infantry soldiers with this mos. so dont think your safe!!! FORK LIFT!! LMAO
@jstill420 hey i just signed up for 92a i leave for bootcamp may 30th..i really wanted infantry but it wasnt available and i didnt want to wait so i took 92a as my mos.SO my question is will i still once in a while be out in the field with like combat training ?
oh yeah, then I got stuck in a motor pool driving a forklift around, and had to answer to a fat ass little pregnat chick, did this for 2.5 years. Oh yeah btw when I got out the only job you're qualified for is working for minimum wage in a crappy warehous full of illegals who can't speak ingles.
this is the worst shit job the army hast to offer. Unfortunaetly I chose this bullshit and did this crap for four years of active dury. All this is is a stock room clerk with a glorified title. Also AIT at Ft. Lee sucks moose dick. You'll go through 13 weeks of bullshit with a bunch of short fat little black women with attitudes. I got stuck with this mos because at meps they gave a book and in 5 munutes I had to pick my mos. Fuck this
@sojoooman My MOS counselor told me I can change the job after two years. I got that job because my line score was low. I wanted something in the medical field, like Health Care Specialist. Since I wan to be a surgeon.
@tny86 You want to be a surgeion? And you chose this. Obviously you came up a bit short. Btw once you sign your contract you can't change your mos, only once it's time to reenlist. Good luck dude.
@sojoooman ya your wrong there you can change you mos and go back to AIT affter 6 months of being in that MOS. Only if there is a spot available that is
@sojoooman i know how you feel they told me this was the only MOS available in my state at the time i picked a bad time to join. But also you can change your MOS after 6 months if a spot is available.
92 alpha sucks donkey dicks. I love the Army but if u love action, pick something else.this job is good for guys afraid of battle,or lazy asses. Maybe active duty is different, but when I did my annual 3 week training in Germany, active guys there were surfing web most time. My contract is up this September, and I might go Active, cause that`s where the money is. I`m gonna re-class as a 21 echo heavy equipment operator.
theres a few different things you can do as a 92A. you can get put in the motor pool, you can be assigned as an MHE operator like me, which is a huge forklift. you can be assigned to an SSA which is a warehouse. what you're actually going to do really depends on where your stationed and what kind of position they need to fill. us 92A's also spend a lot of time driving trucks like an 88M. once you get to AIT, they can explain it much better than i can. btw, i'm graduated and MOS qualified!
I've been in AIT at Ft. Lee for about 5 weeks now. My MOS is 92A. I'm home on block leave right now. I gotta go back on Jan 2nd, 2010. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. I'm currently going through it now so there's really no better person to get information about it from.
Is the job boring...i mean a veteran told me to change my MOS beacause the only thing this job is gonna teach me is to work in home depo.....Am not sure what to pick as my MOS am enlisted as 92A though but..they say i can change it. And well what do you do!? Is it stimulatting?
um. it's a pretty sham MOS, meaning it doesn't require a lot. It's very hot and cold because when your busy, your SUPER busy and when your not you have absolutely NOTHING to do. I'm just being honest. This is my MOS. I want to change my MOS because i want to do something more challenging but if your joining for the cash and want something easy-THIS IS YOUR JOB.
