  • 8 People can't walk, talk, or look like him.

  • The problem is Chris Frantz is racing away with the beat on the drums! He is terrible

  • @MancBluesman the songs ment to sound like that , chris is loving being at the centre of a change

  • @machanalan I still love Talking Heads though take care Bro

  • Yes.

  • Yes, sure, Tina is very sexy....but she's doing a great job on the bass as well!

  • 8 people can't walk and talk just Like David Byrne.

  • @stolenmirth, David Byrne was frozen scraced when I first saw him, it was 76 or 77 in a a place called the Hot Club the seedest club and people you would ever meet.

  • Tina Weymouth does some incredible merengue there ...

  • Also a fun song for any parent with their child learning to walk.

  • Ich möchte in diese Zeit :)

  • I just love this, just found it. Thanks for this! :D

  • Chris is a machine on the drums...amazing...this doesn't sound like only three people, one on an acoustic...

    The Talking Heads rule.

  • how utterly utterly superb

    from a truely great album

    yes it does sound fast

    but still sounds brilliant

  • "With a little practice, you can walk, you can talk just like me." I LOVE David Byrne's sardonic wit. Check out Real Stories.

  • @Allanoster you mean True Stories? that is an extremely entertaining movie, I love his cowboy attire

  • The cd version of this film runs a bit slower.

  • you spelt practice wrong in the lyrics

    hahahhaa

  • this track never made the the album when it first came out , it was a bonus track on later releases its a top song as well

  • ..but first I walk around the world

  • Chris is one of the best drummers ever!

  • i would love to snort coke off tina's bass

  • @TheScooterboy777 hahaha why!?

  • @GrilloJ123 Stop making sense

  • @GrilloJ123 cause it would be better than snortin it of daves lead lmao

  • @TheScooterboy777 I honestly read it wrong, I thought you said her "ass" lmao! But even that would be better to do off her ass than Daves!

  • @GrilloJ123 yea dawwg.. as long as it belonged to tina i would snort off it.. she rocks dude

  • fantastic

  • I fell in love with Chris Frantz after I watched 14-50.

  • Great band. Great movie!

  • Chris really doesn't get enough credit for his contributions to this band.

  • Comment removed

  • I wish I could sing and play the guitar like Byrne.

  • Someone help me, I am addicted to this movie and cannot stop watching it. It's getting in the way of my school work and job, but I go crazy if I don't get my Talking Heads fix.

  • @blakiecakes419 There's no way to cure a Talking Heads addiction. Trust me , I've been listening to Fear Of Music religiously every day since i found it in my dad's record pile. Still, good addiction

  • This might come as a shock to some people but, I say this is an pretty pro-life song!!

  • i like the drummers energy

  • If this song doesn't get you going you must be dead. How i'd like to be driving a turbo Porsche 911 down the GSP w/this song cranking (sans fille, bien sur!!!)

  • I was lucky enough to have been at both tapings of this show. One of the greatest moments of my life!

  • @martinfilmworks Ohh man .You are sooo lucky indeed my friend. What was it like?

  • I love the beat in this song, I feel like I should be galloping along on a horse or something when I hear it. Fun little ditty.

  • Is it just me, or is this from a VHS feed that was sped up or something? The tempo and the pitch of everything is definately entirely different from the DVD release and the album.

  • @TheGreatGallbo well I ripped it from my orginal DVD of the concert, maybe the soft I used has changed the final video, or maybe it was youtube when I uploaded it. Or the DVD I bought is strange!

  • @scoutfree - wikipedia says that the soundtrack is from one concert, and the pics from several. Read the entry to see how Jonathon Demme made the vid.

  • @scoutfree it's like a 1/2 note sharp.

  • @scoutfree i have to say if watched this dvd literaly over thousands of times and i think it is the same :p :) just throwin in as a vote

  • @TheGreatGallbo It's the kind of problem us Australians usually have when we get imported shows and movies released on DVD. The audio has been ever so slightly sped up so that it sounds like all the music is half a step higher than it should be. Why an american had this problem with this DVD I'll never know, especially since this kind of thing never happens with music DVDs

  • @TheGreatGallbo The album version is indeed slower, but this is the tempo that my DVD has.

  • It does seem just a hair fast

  • I know! Most of the youtube videos have a higher pitch! if you listen to the songs for awhile then see a sped up version, it's very weird!

  • @TheGreatGallbo i believe the pitch and tempo are spot on but i remember even on the dvd there seemed to be a slight delay in the video. i just remember noticing it watching the cymbals

  • @StimpoTube On the DVD commentary they said there was some dubbing, but not with the drums. Maybe this is what people are noticing.

  • @TheGreatGallbo definitely sped up - just watched side by side with original DVD version!

  • @TheGreatGallbo sounds like exactly the same speed as Stop Making Sense DVD to me and dam ive heard that dvd hundreds of times to be fair intoxicated by drugs but still! go on Dave you rock

  • @TheGreatGallbo there is a difference between this & the dvd, but only slightly! Tho, the album n live version are completely different animals, i prefer the live version meself, genius!!

  • @TheGreatGallbo The speed is the same as the dvd/performance. Maybe it's different than the album.

  • @TheGreatGallbo I think it's okay so maybe my copy is a bit strange as well

    patsxskip

  • @TheGreatGallbo the speed difference is due to different video formats being used in different countries. USA/Canada uses NTSC, which is 24 frames/sec, Europe uses PAL, which is 25 frames/sec. This clip is taken from a PAL DVD so the pitch is slightly higher and it plays slightly faster.

  • @HamishM150 Not sure about that, cos I live in Britain and the film on DVD sounds the same as the soundtrack.

  • Just Like Me

  • An absolute blast!!!

  • Anyone else think they should just disable the "dislike" button? Unless it's for like, video's by BP or some shit like that? We all know already that for most video's a dislike is made by some troll who goes looking for video's to bash all day anyway.

  • I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO SEE THIS CONCERT,@ FOREST HILLS STADIUM FOREST HILLS NY. DR. PEPPER MUSIC FESTIVAL. AUG 21,1982. IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS I BEEN TOO.

  • i want sex with tina

  • The best part of this song is the drumming, but the best part of the drumming is that Chris is wearing chinos and a polo shirt that he forgot to iron for his big movie debut.

  • Damn they were good.........I saw them outdoors in Oklahoma City in about 1981 or 82. They answered the question: "What does it take to get 8000 white people shaking their booties?" Never seen anything else like it.

  • wish it was longer :O love it

  • Peppy song. Love it!!

  • i could watch chris frantz drum forever.

  • 8 people actually clicked "dislike" .....wow. Really? I wouldn't mind talking to those people and find out what crap like actually do listen to lol...

  • good! Burn and tina....

  • THOSE WERE THE DAZE ... RAINBOW RECORDS DAZE 1975 - 1988 rip jim deacon

  • "Whatta guy'' D.B has ''style''.....never tire of this group ;-D

  • great classic live starts with one and adds one more person to each song in progression if i re correctly from 1st song till last

  • Awesome! Forgot how good this song was!

  • Thank you for KEEPING Me Here - HEAVEN

  • oh wait! this might be my favourite actually.. xxx

  • I saw David Byrne play live at the Sheffield City Hall last year and it's something that will stay with me for the rest of my life.

    That bloke is legendary.

  • jolie! merci.

  • Chris is great on the drums here. 1.44 thru 1.55. Basic I know, but sounds so good. And yes, Tina is very hot!!

  • I never paid much attention to this band 30 years ago, but Tina is very hot!

  • i rented this dvd and smoked a joint with 3 friends and we all worshiped David after that. the end.

  • who is a better rhythim guitarist than david byrne?????

  • @madhighlander08 no one

  • @madhighlander08

There was this guy, he was pretty good on rhythm guitar during his career.

    John Lennon was his name.

Malcom Young of AC/DC plays a pretty mean rhythm as well.

  • @rustynickle

Yeah but I gotta say the best rhythm guitarist I think is Lou Reed.

  • And there she is on bass...tina weymouth rocks my soul.

  • Attention TH: Please reform and re-stage (or re-imagine) this concert before it's too late. One of the few bands that I never got to see live!!!

  • @frankbagofdonuts Why would that be necessary? They made a DVD. I think it's great the way it is.

  • This song is perfect! And I like the way they move in the scenario, they are having fun and it's very contagious.

I'm in love with Tina :)

  • few of em can

  • GREATEST CONCERT DVD EVER

  • Mine go:

    1. The Last Waltz - The Band

    2. Stop Making Sense - The Talking Heads

    3. Okonokos - My Morning Jacket

  • Tina Weymouth dances Sexy!!!!!

  • Tina was HOT period. And Still is!!!

  • @Bonzosuicide cos she is sexy bassist :)

  • @Bonzosuicide personally i like david byrne's stomping dance. lol

  • I just love Talking Heads - I wish, I wish they would just get back together and do one final tour.

  • Here's a fun fact: you know how this is, like, the archetypical concert video and is universally praised? The main reason for that, besides Talking Heads' performance, is Toni Basil's choreography. Yes, "Mickey" Toni Basil.

  • No, at Pantages Theatre, Hollywood L.A. December 1983.

  • It's also on Blu ray now, too.

  • They're from the Talking Heads' concert film called Stop Making Sense.

  • David Byrne was just so original, and weird for his time. His style and stage presence were one of a kind, before it was cool to be weird. His creativity is just awesome. He's got talent, personality, and he's just kind-of the all-around great musician,

  • i agree. mr byrne is the proverbial shit.

  • Arguably the greatest Rock and Roll movie ever made. David Byrne is supreme vocalist, guitarist, showman, satirist, cult figure, cultural icon. This film, the artists who created it, the director and the way it brings the concert alive for the viewers is just stunning.

  • this song gets me fucking JUICED

  • David Byrne has got to be the coolest man on the planet...

    Glenn...

  • They bring out more stuff for every song through the whole concert. Great concept!

  • 1984 genius of David Byrne.

    Talking Heads - often immitated....

    NEVER duplicated.

  • what a band....fuckin A

  • How good is the way this concert starts with the forst 4 songs in particular - I'm just jealous of anyone who can say they were there - for some reason this is my favourite song - I can't work out why and I've no idea what it means, it's just undeniably brilliant

  • Great song! Sounds so amazing, david byrnes vocals really take these simple lyrics and makes them so beautiful

  • nobody beats The Heads in their prime

  • Christ Frantz is so cool. He's a great musician to be sure, but I really appreciate his sincerity. Just watch him in this performance - he looks like he's having a blast and that's he's pleased to be playing for you. Great song and one of my favorites from the movie along with "Cities" and "What A Day That Was".

  • "Thanks!"

  • Is it me, or is the video a bit sped up?

  • one of the best songs from the album

  • Tina is a Goddess..!! soooo sexy

  • This was a short song on the album as well.

  • Great Band. Great Song. Great (and funny as well) Performance. Very cool.

  • i wish the song was longer tho :( but talking heads still make my head bop and makes me mouth the words its because they know im stoned :P

  • knee's are so expressive

  • Incredible..perfection, really. Okay, superb! Amazing Chris! Thank for posting!

  • hell yeah i love this song

  • amazing

  • Comment removed

  • Yes.

  • The smartest band of the 80's.

  • thank you for sending me talking heads

  • I looooove Tinaaaa!

  • tina

  • She's the best.

  • These are 3 realy good musicians :)

  • even tho theres 4 really good musicians

  • I do to, but I still have a hard time forgiving her for helping to destroy Happy Mondays.

  • Tina looks like she's having a blast throughout the whole concert!

  • Love tina in this clip, she looks like se's having a blast.

  • I love this song!! I can't seem to find the song that preceeds this one in the movie. It's the acoustic version of HEAVEN. Anybody?

  • Got taken down by the label's legal action. Someone else will probably post it again soon enough. *Sigh* I had the whole movie on a playlist here once too.

  • That's just crazy! It's such a great song & it's one I want played at my funeral (which will hopefully be a VERY LONG TIME FROM NOW)

  • Its u[p again i just listened to it

  • this

  • Check the other videos by the poster of this one.

  • I JUST WATCHED IT! check it out, it's back again

  • i was just thinkin the same thing

  • I think the youtube people are having their own copyright Inquisition lately, so many things have been deleted. I can no longer watch the Once in a Lifetime music video!

  • one of the best driving albums ever made.. stuck in traffic.. or on an open road.. you can't help but sing along... thanks for the post!

  • Byrne looks like Eddie Cochrane on blotter acid...

  • chris drives me crazy in this clip

    i loooooove drummers.

  • specially energetic talented drummers like this one.

    Drums are monkey circulatory systems

  • This was from their 1978 album "More Songs About Buildings And Food". It certainly look or sound like any other band at that time. So, during the time of "Grease" and The Bee Gees, imagine buying an album with a cover shot of the band made up of over 500 close-up Polaroids! Still have the record. Still one of my favorites. What a band.

  • bloody fantastic

  • great song

  • tina, tina, tina. TINA! TINAAAAAAHHH!

  • I dont think DB was actually a father when he wrote this song, having said that the lyrics fit beautifully to that scenario .. I read somewhere that the 'walking circles' part related to a certain breed of bird and their mating ritual .. I've always found the lyrics to this song to be quite obscure, to be honest the parenthood one fits as well as any that I've heard so far, but as I said, I dont think Byrne was a father when he actually wrote the song (around 76, 77 ..)

  • You can walk in circles around me. Beautiful song.

  • Fantastic. Typical Talking Heads.

  • shite i didnt even realize that before

thanks for the comment i can kinda appreciate it more now :)

as gay as that sounds lol

  • What a great song about being a father...

  • Groovy!

  • one octave higher sweet man walk and keep talking like me!!!!

  • That black drum kit is in the Rock and Roll hall of fame representing the Talking Heads.

  • the bass player looks kinda like baby spice

  • That'll be Tina Weymouth. I subscribed to you because you have awesome favourites amd playlists!... when you start to make vids I'll get them :D

  • Oh, I can't subscribe. Why's that? oh well.

  • thanks for comment:)

yeah, i do need to get some videos. problem is i have a ton of videos, concerts, etc. but they're all on VHS:(

  • I'm sure you can get a machine to recordt them onto dvd and then rip them onto your pc. Or else, you can steal stuff (like I do) and mash videos together. I rip video and audio using camstudio. It's so nice to be creative with this stuff. Even though it's stuff that other people have created and we just use it :-D Find a way to upload a video with sound... and you are on youtube :-)))

  • great to hear this tune again after more than 20 years! Enjoyed it just as much.

  • Fantástico, aliás como todo esse show, o Stop Making Sense!

  • great!!1

  • cool
