Zane Hodges reminded me in ways of the apostle Paul who never married and devoted his life to the Lord. Zane was also a tent maker in the sense he was a Greek professor at Dallas Theological Seminary for 27 years so that he could minister without charge to the Hispanics in a small church called Victor Street Bible Chapel, formerly The Old Mission in Dallas, for almost 50 years. Zane entered into His Lord's rest November 23, 2008.
To Jacksmack77, I really appreciate your clear teaching and understanding of the free gift of eternal life. It is only by faith alone in Christ alone, keep up the good work brother.
That's right, they didn't understand as yet that He had to die for sins and rise again. Yet they believed in Him. When you believe in Him, you believe in everything in Him. You don't understand it all at once, but little by little you learn. The sufficiency is in Christ, not my faith.
Zane quote: As I say the NT obviously teaches us to preach the death and resurrection of Christ. Obvious lt tells us to tell the whole story to people but it also warns us I think against complicating the terms on which man can believe and be saved. So when we get to the end of the story we can say everything has been done for you, and all you need to do is to trust Christ for eternal life.

What must I do to be saved? believe on the lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved
It is just that simple.
When the Titanic was sinking it was said that there was a Christian who was swimming to those drowning telling them to believe on Christ.
