If this is Nataraj, why does Nataraj have boobs? Is it Kali and they messed up by giving the statue Nataraj's ring of fire? I'm trying to figure out what's messing me up here. I love that this is confusing because it's forcing me to learn the truth about the culture. I understand those of you who would be offended, but this was not done out of disrespect.
I agree that ray harryhousen was epic, but special effects should not be noticed at all. They should be seamless, which is the way they are going with more advanced CGI. IT's not there yet, but give it a chance.
That said, I love the old stop motion stuff, especially the little nuances that they're given, lik ethe likke head wobble when the statue moves.
That was definitely one of my favorite films growing up. Apart from the Harryhausen creatures, it'll be best remembered for Caroline Munro's part. :-)
A formative adventure and fantasy film for me, no doubt about it!
Ray Harryhousen was awsome, He did the best stop motion of his time. And his model where created to perfection. I remember seeing "The Golden Voyage Of Sinbad" at the theaters when I was 8 years old. It still is awsome.
Ray Harryhausen was incredible, even now i can enjoy Sinbad, Clash Of The Titans, and other films, an amazing thing is that he was planning and even storyboarded loads of shots for a version of War Of The Worlds only recently before the Spielberg one, it would have been incredible, just like the HG Wells book. I hated the Spielberg one, he said that he doesnt think the audience wants to see a world as said in the book following a scientist/astronemer around in America, not England...*HMMPH*
@BlackWyvern2 it is. only the young, ungrateful and spoiled don't appreciate this is before cgi, etc. i know i wouldn't have had the patience like harryhousen. i still love the dance!

Ray Harryhausen. What would fantasy and science fiction films have been without him?

Tom Baker was brilliant in this.

People that have created CGI need to realize that once upon a time, artists like Ray Harryhausen created magic images BY HAND.
