I would be interested in the doctors next regeneration to be an old man again. And he adopts an orphan child for a companion so we can see the fatherly side of him that we rarely ever see. I would like to see that kind of relationship rather than his female companions constantly hitting on him.
I think Maya (the lead singer from a J(apnese)-Rock band, LM.c) should be the 12th Doctor--just watch him use psychic paper, a sonic screwdriver, and pilot a TARDIS--the Sontarans, Cybermen, and Daleks wouldn't stand a chance!
Eccleston was dark and intence. Tennent was less intence and more energetic. Smith is a puppy dog. I think that they should go back to the intensity of the Eccleston days because I feel that Matt Smith's shoes are to big to fill.
Maybe before Smith's doctor regenerate, he can go through a real tragedy to cause him to be a dark doctor (crossing fingers for amy to die)
I wish he would be the Doctor! Matt Smith does not appeal to most of the Tennant or even later Calssic Era fans. There needs to be more gravitas and a bit more age to the Doctor. As it is now, it's just wrong. At least Davison, the only Doctor who was anywhere near Smith's age, he did have the chops, gravitas and maturity. All of which Smith is lacking.
@Bajazoid O rly? I've seen every Doctor from 1 through 11... 11 is pretty damn close to 2 and 4 in his zaniness. I mean, hell, 2 played a recorder and dressed like a hobo clown. I liked Tennant but near the end he just got too sappy, and RTD's attempt to darken 10's character and make him the "Time Lord Victorious" was just silly.
Unfortunately, he's a bit old to be the next Doctor. Maybe if he were the 10th or if he had been the 9th, but as the Doctors tend to be younger and younger as the regenerations happen, I don't see them going to James Callis for the next one. I do agree he would make a brilliant Doctor, though.
@adjectivenoun7 Dude, did you not see some of the early doctors? The trend of making them younger and younger is a recent one and not nessasarly for the better. An older Doctor I feel lends the character greater gravitas and underlines it better when he acts young, being bouncy and energetic and having those "Oh Brilliant" moments that Tennant did
Wow this guy would be a fonominal doctor and its most likely after matt smith there gonna go for a bit of an older guy so He would be perfect we should all seriously start sending him fan mail or something to tell him to do it
I could see him doing the part justice. However, I'm still hoping they'll consider Sean Pertwee for the part in the future. Besides the fact that he's the Third Doctor's "son", I think he would be brilliant.
Not bad - I didn't know this guy, but not bad at all - he could do it. Noot the greatest actor in the world though. I'm still holding out for Robert Carlyle (Trainspotting/ 9 1/2 weeks later) though he doesn't need it.
hey u...amandaculley...did u say u didnt like david????!!!!!! OMG he's just as awesome as edward cullen (but nowhere near as awesome as johnny depp or orlando bloom!)!!!!!!!!!!! this james guy would b heaps crap!!!!!
I'm not sure that he'd want to commit to another regular role in a SciFi show. He was asked in an interview a few months ago what kind of role he'd want to have next, and he said "something that has nothing to do with spaceships".

Actually, I think James Callis might make a good new incarnation of the Master to go up against Matt Smith's Doctor.

He could do well in Dr.Who. I'm sure he could get into the fast talking, quick emotion changing Doctor we know and love.

James Callis would be perfect as Doctor Who.
He would make the role his own.
He young, British and a great actor, he definatley has the potential.
Plus he would add further worldwide appeal to the program.

I'd dig me some Callis for the next Doctor, but he seems to be having such a fantastic time on BSG that I doubt he'd consider the role seriously.
