Hi Cristelle, congrats on your achivement as a place winner in the competition . I think that this tune was "techinically" sound but it lacked the Mojo . I think a Boogie would have been a better choice of tune. I too came 2nd in a harmonica competition here in New Zealand. I was very proud of myself on my achivement . Keep on Harpin :-) your doing great.

I am sure that when it comes to judging the top 2 or 3 players it becomes very subjective. Maybe they didn't like your selection of music even though your playing was excellent. Could have been a lot of things? Did you ask the Judges why they made their decision.

I'm a delta blues kinda guy and that list is long. When one reachs the skill level that you have, we start comparing apples and oranges. You are on par with Toots as far as I'm concerned. Some of my fav's, Gary Primich(RIP) James Cotton, who gave me my first lessons, Sonny and Mcgee and a friend of mine Little Sammy Davis. What sets you apart from most is the pure emotion you put in your playing. I knew you where special from the first time I heard you play and remain your #1 fan in America.

thank you so much for these words, I really appreciate them, but comparing me to Toots or the James Cotton is too much, I'm just trying to play honestly with feelings even if I'm not perfect so far. Toots, James, and Sonny Terry are people from another galaxy, I'm trying to play in the milky way :-)

Hi John well there's nothing much going on, France is definitely not the best part of the world to gig when you're a harmonica player. I often think of SPAH last year in Sacramento and I can't help to remember you, I hope you're well and if I can get back on my feet (I've been homeless for 9 months now) I'll try to come next year for SPAH (Peter Madcat Ruth is expecting me out there)...Much love from stupid country of France).
