  • That was one of the most fair deals I've ever seen on Dragon's Den (or Shark Tank here in America). James Caan is such a class act. We want him over here!

  • JAMES KHAN IS THE MAN. BRILLIANT WOW. REDUCING YEAR BY YEAR GETTING THE DEAL WOOOOW <<33

  • weskatehere[dot]com coming soon

  • Idiot #1:Alright dragons we will now show you our cocks, they are quite small as you will see,we have provided you with binoculars,a magnifying glass and a microscope, whichever you prefer.

Idiot #2:In addition to our cocks being small they also stink alot as well. And that is our pitch.

Duncan(yelling while shooting them with a gatling gun):You scumbag motherfuckers!DIE! DIE!

Petah Jones(talking to their dead bodies while mounting what is left):I will invest my wee lil cock in your mouths aye?

  • @vancedev What the fuck have you been pipe smoking?

  • James Is always on Top ... He is a BusinessMan a Real one.

  • @TheLansoprazole i think out of all of them he likes doing bissiness the most.

  • Your restaurant recruitment will be slower if you charge 9% commission per order.

Primary reason being your primary market is small restaurants that just opened who heavily relies on hungryhouse.co.uk to gain customers. During first year, most restaurants will rarely break even, so I think charging them 9% per order is a bit steep.

    Continue...

  • @j124life

    Here is something to consider:

    1. Make your 1st year restaurant recruitment free to list on your website. This will allow huge incentives for newly opened restaurants, and this will make nearly every restaurant owner who can use a website to be recruited. Can you imagine how many customers will use this website at this point?

    2. Manage your team of web designers etc at a very price efficient level, cut down costs, and possibly get the dragons to invest more to avoid risks.

  • @j124life

    3. In year 2, charge 5% commission per restaurant per order. Because restaurant owners knows, a huge demographics of customers comes from your website due to its' popularity, they are willing to pay this 5%.

    4. In the future years, depending on how things goes, you can charge higher % rates, depending on how you analyze the market to maximize your net income.

    5. What I am proposing is a flexible plan that could possibly yield more profit at year 2, based on your 30k y1 figure.

  • I really love this show and its one of my favorite reality shows because its serious business XD Excuse the pun. But seriously, its one of those reality shows that I can see value in as apposed to something like Jersey Shore or Survivor. This and Shark Tank (a US version of the show) are some of the few, in my opinion, respectable reality shows out there because its for a good cause (if the people are that desperate) and the dragons/sharks really know what they're doing (for the most part) =3

  • "That's our pitch, now we're happy to take some questions."

"I have one. Have you overstayed your Visas?"

  • "10% each?"

    "LOL"

  • Man James Khan is one smooth cat....by far my favourite Dragon

  • @antjmi Shame he's not doing it anymore, apparently it was because he feel out with duncan!

  • the 3 people who didnt accept are cheap

  • @ninhle98

The first one who pulled out was totally right though.

He could probably go and have the same website mechanics up within a week whilst a team of reps hit the streets getting ridiculous number of participants on board to make a rival before hungryhouse even spends a penny of that 100k

  • @davidscd I use them too, just shows what Dragon Jones knows, he thinks he knows everything about the internet/computer business because he runs a telecommunications company but he actually knows considerably less. His loss

  • In the Netherlands, we have a site named "Thuisbezorgd". ("Home delivered")

4 years ago I'd never imagine myself ordering food online, nowadays this site has grown so dominant that every takeout that doesn't participate in their program has a short life expectancy. I use it regularly for anything varying from pizzas, chinese or even drinks.

The brilliant thing about this system is that you get to see people's reactions and opinions of the takeout, giving me confidence to place my order.

  • i love how they lold when he said 10% each

  • These guys are pretty big now. I love it when the dragons slag them off, don't invest then they go on to make money

  • i like this idea, because i always lose menus and phone numbers of restaurants...anyways who wants to keep all that clutter , basically i use Google to find the number and am always looking for new places that may be better... This website would make it much easier since i could compare places, customer ratings, distance...and provide me with an easy platform where i wouldn't have to waste time calling anyone since i just order from online

  • I'm struggling to see why they need a 100k investment. Maybe I missed that bit.

  • @Belayka Marketing

  • @Belayka maybe they just wanted an excuse to appear on British TV?

  • buying online its a great idea! like when you go there, just go on your touch screen device, and click on what you want to buy. Instead of a waiter going to your table. The data sent is instant so, they know what to cook for you and your table number. or something

I'M IN, well actually I think restaurants should just do their website themselves. providing internet locally in their restaurants.

    I'm out

  • The big problem is that investors underestimate the value of a good website, websites with little content, like a webcomic can actually revnew up to a million a year. I just want to make the example of a Filehoster...they make millions! And all they do is supply a simple PHP upload and a few fancy user managment systematics, and the joke is they have zero loses, since they aren't hosting any contents, and therefor don't have to pay licenses. they gain money from premium users

  • i like this idea it will also save restaurants money

  • I'd be more interested in investing if these guys didn't look like they were holding back a major crap that was about to fill their pants.

I've seen their website and I have to agree that anyone could do this. And believe it or not, not everyone has Internet access, even in this day and age. The money may keep them afloat but I'm not turned on by the idea.

  • The main problem with this concept is that most people tend to stick one or two indian, chinese, thai, pizza, burger restaurants etc because they know they'd get good quality everytime for their money rather than taking a risk going somewhere else.

  • @Belayka the reason why people stick to one place because they don't know of any other place...I think most people would like to try new things if they only knew where it was located and all that...

  • epic beard rub at 1:18

  • They will not hit targets of 3million in 3 years - they lose equity to 50% !

  • 25 % is a rip-off 50 % is so fucking much I wouldnt do it honestly.

  • Their idea is similar to tripadvisordotcom except they're concentrating on restaurants and their customer service. High technology word of mouth.

  • I've used HungryHouse.. great website :)

  • the iphone does this shit now hahaha fail..

  • @3liteX yeah - iphone apps backed by web services. dummy.

  • completion of investment project what they need it hungryhose

  • LMAO someone said this was the best shows on tele... that's a good joke ;-)

or... it has sad implications for what's on tv these days.

at any rate.... what kind of asshole refers to himself as a "dragon" because he's rich... how pathetic. and how pathetic people are for watching this on tv... and how pathetic people are for participating on this show... this is as sad as any other disgusting reality tv show.

  • @YinYangTzu and how pathetic are people searching and watching it on youtube only to say how pathetic it is

  • @tpol23 it was recommended i search it, first of all. reality shows being a cultural phenomena worth understanding and looking at closely. secondly, who would criticize something before seeing it? "oh no that's stupid" "seen it?" "nope..." "well how you know it's stupid?" "..." you see the point? searching it on youtube is nothing short of giving any investigation or research due integrity

  • @tpol23 Half as pathetic as those who don't realize how pathetic it is.

  • @YinYangTzu whats ur problem with ths show?

  • i hate british accent!!!,and maximum amount i have been hearing is 100,000 pounds,,unlike canada version 1 million dollars etc,,,

  • I use this service, it's great and introduced me to a few more places. And you can read reviews before choosing the restaurant / take-away which also makes the places keep their act in check!

I f*ckin' hate those arrogant smug greedy b*stard dragons.. hope they burn in hell with red hot pokers up their a*$3 holes. worse than loan sharks.

  • @MikeHuntagape i agree with you mate! a just watch that show to see how those already filthy rich maggots taking an andventege of those poor bastards who came for some money to make they dream come true or just to make their lives little better, its always same scenario: were rich you poor and we going to fuck you up the arse so deep that you will feel the taste of our dicks in your throat!

  • @MikeHuntagape Ehhh, a loan shark breaks your legs when you don't pay. A dragon does not as he also takes the risk of capital loss.

  • yup, they are, just ordered off of them

  • are they still in business??

  • That was when?

Entered my postcode on the website and hmmm.... zero results, and i live in a town with more curry houses, chinese takeaways, pizza outlets than you can shake a stick at, Walsall, just 8 miles north of Birmingham.

  • Its pretty much a London site, they have nearly a thousand restaurants in London

  • 5:07 lol.

  • They cover oxford... i want them to go national quickly ...Oxford Please

  • they do my city and has 35 takeaways, but the website seems very basic.

  • if its a complex site, it wont work.

    Simplistic is a problem tough

  • those lads got fuckin corn-holed!

  • faggots

  • sit on your arse and rake in the cash = the dragons.. the richest bums on the planet

  • about 60-70% of publicity and marketing was achieved through just by appearing on this show... and for that reason i'm out :P

  • What that James Caan character did was brilliant. Offer to reduce his equity if they deliver the numbers. Simply brilliant!

  • @wamonchez

I find James Caan stroking himself continuously rather obscene. And why do they show it in close up? To suggest he's the 'thinker' of the group?

  • @wamonchez smoot fucking cat, he nailed both guys by the ass with one dick, a feat worth of Guiness :)

  • 100,000 pounds with 50% of the equity - nice!

  • hey all, I work for hungryhouse.

Saw that there were a few questions about where we are now. Actually, we now cover about half of the uk - mostly the big cities. Take a look at the website and see what we've got local to you. There's about 77,000 customer reviews on the website as well now, so hopefully we can help you to find the best places.

If we haven't got to you yet, sorry about that but there's a whole lot of restaurants to visit!! we'll get to you soon, promise!

  • if your that good why are you pushing this rubbish on you the tube comments page??

  • we should all start a takeway website thing for our home town ,

  • hey this video was posted like 2 years ago, anybody know any follow up?

  • check out their hungryhouse website...seems they're still alive..

  • Yeah, 1500 restaurants on line they seem to be doing well.

I'm glad they made it :)

  • yup!

  • Did you see how they all laughed at 4:10? I think that blonde chick needs to be slapped about 40 times across the face and then the rest of them need their asses kicked. What those two guys doing the presentation need to remember is that they are still in control, they still have other options outside of this tv show.I don't know why everyone walks on eggshells around these people. They just should have said take your offer and shove it up your asses.

  • they said its only for london didn't they?

  • they shouldn't be called Dragons they should be called Leaches... £100,000 to these guys is like me putting £10 on the horses... yes it's a gamble but it's only a tenner. Plus I just typed my post code and got nothing either and our town has got a takeaway every other building in the highstreet (slight exageration but you get the point)

  • They should be called pompous CUNTS, yes they are filthy rich, But let me tell you, all the money in the world will not buy health, So what good is money to a human being when they are dying or dead, treat people like you want to be treated, It's that easy!

  • They got a fair deal, the bigger the risk the bigger the reward is supposed to be...that's a rule of life...that's why criminal activity pay's so good cause its the most risky business there is. So i think they got a good deal i would have accepted too. But those rich people were only half tyrant, they were fair enough, lowering their % if it pay's, but they still got 30% of it all if the figures happen...if they dont happen in the planned timeframe...our 2 friends are screwed !

  • They dont care about getting the cash, but they are getting their website out there

  • Typed in postcode, no results.

Well done James & Duncan, you just burned your cash!

  • so where are we needed next? ;)

  • just gone on the website, put my postcode in and......no restaurants in my area!!! ....bolton mustnt be worthy of a takeaway lol

  • funny i did same thing :P

  • i use hungry house exclusively when getting a takeaway! and i dont go online thinking 'i want a chinese'. i look at the choices available on the site and decide from that.

  • Ive seen people drop deals on the canadian version of this show and i have never heard of there product again .... and that was about 2 years ago... you need a tyrant like this to help push your product..... big corparations will destroy you

  • CCrossfan:

70 lbs and 6'6"??? HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA now that's too funny!

what are you a stick bug? my 8 yr old weighs 70 lbs at 4'.

  • he obviously made a typo you moron

  • Im not being racist or anything, but i think this idea should work better inthe USA because they tend to be MORE lazier so yeah.. NO OFFENCE

  • NO OFFENCE but you would be better off on Dailymotion. NO OFFENCE.

  • wtf? are u high?

  • Fuck me, you're stupid.

  • Giving and overall conclusion..

  • paper money is going to fall soooon

  • In agreement with what Deborah said, I think ppl eat at place's that are safe and good quality so to that extent there a lot of consumer loyalty in the takeaway market. For that reason I don't think ppl will trust picking a takeaway from a website nor would they even think about it in the first place. I'M OUT!

  • Just add review system in the website to combat that..quite frankly i think word-of-mouth is powerful..it also makes win-win-win situation..consumers -> know what restaurant is good or bad, restaurants -> get feedbacks, website owners -> enchanted customer value

  • I disagree, when she said it I couldn't believe how out of of touch she is with the modern world.

  • @bencorgan shes a fuckin idiot you moron

  • @bencorgan Ever heard of Yelp? Ever heard of Google business map? Hell, ever heard of a newspaper? They all do what these people are suggesting, but nowhere near as organized and specific, and they're all hugely successful. Don't ever under estimate the power of the web.

  • ..maybe 10%?

    HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH

  • @zomgomgomgz lol

  • @zomgomgomgz funny part is they weren't chucked out after they said that :)

  • He can count!

  • Always surprises me on this program, when they have an irishman on they always try to catch him out on vat, the old stereotyping thing, and then come on all with the false patiotism shit about importance of paying tax, this is despite the fact the british government don't charge them tax because millionaires, just goes to show whos full of shit and they have the country in bits because of it..

  • I reckon hungryhouse will be around for years, and can only grow to be more popular, as more people, spend longer online every year that goes by, simple.

  • I think its a good business idea but Deborah pointed out the fundamental flaw in it. Nobody goes online to decide what cuisine to order...........Ppl go online after theyve atleast decided what cuisine they want and more often than not after what restaurant they want to order from.

Lastly, I think theres a limit to how many restaurants they can get cuz more than 66% of online orders are actually pizzas and another 10-15% Chinese............So theres only 2 cuisines u can really target

  • not quite true for me..i decide what to order from a pile of takeaways menus after i decided that im not going to eat out or cook today! so this website can help me out a lot...hope my opinion helps in case the two entrepreneurs got to read

  • indeed we do read aart1982. hearing everyone's opinions expressed in such an open forum is great! shane

  • Good points and only like 1500 takeways on the system now :O

  • I strongly disagree with this, I have been in a situation, Where I want to order something, but I have no menu, no phone no. So this website could be good for me and other ppl that sometimes suffer from the same thing.

  • @danishh1 Maybe only two cuisines but how many restaurants?? If you get all the Italian restaurants and all the Chinese restaurants - I know of a Chinese restaurant in Naas (look it up to see how small and out of the way it is!) served 700 meals in one Valentine´s night - take away mostly! The other thing is that there were 3 other Chinese restaurants in the town at that time!

  • Useless ignorant americans!!!

Stay away from complex things you know nothing about

  • Duncan and James are the best to analyze ideas.

  • Duncan yes but I don't think James is as astute as any of the other dragons - he asks the same questions every pitch without being analytical enough about the opportunities.

  • From what I have seen the dragons like bricks and motar, they are usually are very skeptical when it comes to online business's.

  • That's quite understandable since it's very hard to come up with an online business that isn't easily replicable.

  • easily replicable, maybe, the key is in being the ones to get it up and started first, getting your foot in the door and getting established. then any others will just be shoddy replicas whos brand will not carry the same weight.

  • plus who gives a shit what it would do in the united.steaks of america!!!!!!!!?. its a british programme.

  • That shit wouldn't fly here in the USA; of the restaurants that offer "take-away" (we call it "take-out") only a few of them have online ordering, and NOBODY uses it, everybody places an order by phone...Seriously, if you went to a bunch of restaurant owners or managers here and asked them if they;d like to offer online ordering via a third party website 99.9% of them would say no. If just wouldn't be worth the hassle because no one would use it....

  • firstly, what brought u to the conclusion that 99.9% of people would say no to it?secondly why dont u check out their website and see how many they have sold this year already. well let me save u the trouble. over 55'000 at an average of over 12 pounds an order. thats a lot of money. plus seeing as u chaps eat more fast food than anyone else i would suggest that maybe more than0.01% of people(as u suggested) would actually be rather more keen to order from them than u think.

  • Actually, my university has it's own take-out website very similiar to this hungryhouse website, though on a much smaller scale. I've never used it since I prefer to place my orders over the phone, but it's quite popular and lots of other people do. Take-out websites may not be for everyone but they still work best for some.

  • Thats because you fuckers are a backward uneducated lot!

  • Yeah I have the option to order online but I still do it by phone. A lot of times my computer isn't turned on so I would have to wait 5 minutes to boot it up, get the internet working, get on the website, and place the order. I'd much rather just use a telephone and be done in 30 seconds.

  • god forbid u gotta wait 5minutes to order food fat ass fuck

  • I weigh seventy pounds and I'm 6'6 you cynical son of a bitch

  • damm James Khan invests in a lot :P

  • this cannot work

  • That's a great deal for them and a great challenge too.. Good luck!

  • oh, and a last thing..

"World Hunger" support. Hmmm I dont think people wnat to be reminded of people dying of hunger before they order food.

Maybe its just me but i think its a "faux pas"/

    good luck.

  • Its nice to see 2 young gay men coming to England and trying to open a business, dont spend all the money on dirty mags my dears.

  • I guess they are both trying to make a living themselves though??

  • One a good positive note:

It is a GREEN idea (i think that should be the winning angle to this) less poeple use ther car for take out better it is for the environment.

Yes today 'Ecology' is this century selling argument, wether you believe Gore or not.

  • surely if the food is getting delivered by a vehicle then there is no green benefit?

  • 6- Adding another step before order, meaning, I need to know about this site first.

  • Problems:

1- No added value for a restaurant

2- Restaurant's incintive to be listed non existant (they should all run to be listed)

3- The website looks like a free download from eMule. Yes easy to make and replicate.

4- Local small Delivery restaurant rather work on cash and no headache to manage those orders and fees etc..

5- The old good local door to door Flyers or Magnet will still be more efficient to offer special deals

  • I love the sliding scale nature of the investment! It increases the incentive of the entrepreneurs to work hard for their eventual financial independence. Cheers!

  • I think those judge's think those "hungry house" dude's are lying about the Denmark people.

  • Im gonna replicate, if it dont work, oh well

  • lol peter jones enjoys making people feel like shit

  • I am a Dutch Dragons Den pitcher and I must say these guys were lucky, bad website idea, but with the network of the 2 Dragons they might have a sustainable power to rule the market..

well done! Michiel DD Holland 2008, eps 7

  • this business is an epic fail

  • This is one of the best shows on tele

  • type in chinese take away into google uk and their website aint even on the first page - such a crap idea that is flooded with other similar services

  • I'm not saying it's a successful. Firstly google is ordered by paying customers and then relativity.

  • Google is in order depending on how many links from outside sites there are to them.

  • its shit, too much competition

  • What are the odds they even come close to those projections?

  • lol... very scarce:P:P

  • non existant

  • What A Bunch Of Idiots. God Its Not Hard To Make A Bloody Webpage. DUHH

  • what i have to tell them to do is take it world wide. They have the EXPERIENCE PEOPLE they need, they need to take it bigger now. They can make much more then they said they will. Hire people to go to restaurants to talk to them might lose some money at start but for future they will make money 100%

  • What!?! They got the investment... They ONLY have 500 Restaurants signed up to them in all the UK after 6 months of that investment... My town of 130,000 with dozens of restaurants, recieved no matches tht their website found from my postcode. While they have several restaurants from bigger cities, you cant ignore towns. Every order will count... Its been poor recruiting on their part and my my calculations of their customer ratings, they are not where near turning over £430,000 this year

  • didn't know peter jones had time to browse youtube :P

  • wow james caan is a smart alec eh

  • This is hilarious. The targets they have set are not conservative at all, which meanst he dragons are laughing they know they will get their 50%

  • Grr they dont do my postcode, and strange enough i had this idea about 6 months ago lol, my brother laughed it away though.

  • haha i thought they were gona say 'we wont accept' - so funny

  • I use the site all the time - it's pretty damn good actually. A lot easier than trying to talk to some of these takeaway places on the phone!!!

  • dont know but they seem dead nice

  • I could just do with a takeaway but its too late now. Bugger it.

  • Hey lads I just checked your website and you aint offerin that much in Oxford. Remember - there's piles of money here and mountains of restaurants and take-aways.....get yer asses over here and get some biz

  • James Caan strokes his facial hair a lot doesn't he! I'd stroke it for him too......grrrrhhhh....he's very very sexy
