  • this was a geat styx recording

  • I am 72 and this is one of my many Styx favorites. Growing old is mandatory but growing up is optional. If I could still ride I would still be blasting this out of the stereo on my Honda Gold Wing. I was introduced to Styx by my stepchildren from my second marriage. They had all the albums and because Styx first road manager, Jim Voss, was a relative we got free concert tickets too. Styx eventually replaced Voss as road manager and the free tickets ended but by then I was a die hard fan.

  • I used to play this album to death. Every song on it solid gold, and loved the story..one that is especially relevant today I think.

  • perhaps Kilroy was a metaphor for the idd in us all that is forced to conform and listen to lady gaga, yet we scream inside for what really counts. good old rock and roll...

if you see it that way, the story of Kilroy has come true. we just need a ( Jonathan ) chance to free us all.

  • this album gets a bad rap. but if you can see beyond the live stage hi jinx deyounge wanted to do and look at the concept as metaphor, not literally. it's not just a good album, but a real good story. and the story in fact has become a reality if you think about it. look at how the music industry pushes trash on us, and ignores the classic way of true rock and roll.

  • I just love the 'floating down the river in 'nam' vibe this song has....

  • Kilroy Was Here was a great album whatever people say. This song is one of Styx's greatest pieces.

  • God ,I remember listening to this song at age 13 when it came out in the middle of the night. I always thought this would have been a great single to release...

  • Always loved this song ever since I heard my dad play it when it first came out.

  • I have this Album and this piece is classic in fact the whole album is good

  • One of the greatest tracks ever. One person needs tarring and feathering. Lol

  • 1 person didn't get through this night.

  • Nothing better to this night............ And I could last a million years, if I just get through this night

  • I hate modern lady gaga and t-pain who have no talent and only sound good because of auto-tune. People say the black eyed peas sounded bad at the super bowl because of technical errors. Why would that effect them? AUTOTUNE!!! I'm 11 years old, and this is my favorite band. Thums up tis comment, thumbs up the video, favorite it, copy and paste this on other songs like this so together, we can take over the internet and spam t-pain with comments like this. (p.s. STYX forever!)

  • i'm glad to be able to listen to this song again. i have it on the strange black disk the aliens left us before giving us cd's but i can't find a store selling it on cd *sigh* ty styxfan93 for doing this.

  • tommyが三味線を弾いています。この曲はtommyが日本公演の後、studioに一晩こもって作った曲です。guitarの他、全ての楽曲をtommy himselfがplayしました。

    guitar soloは涙が出てしまいます。tear dropped!!

  • this is, without a doubt, my favorite album of all time. I absolutely love Styx. One of my favorite groups. I'm a 16 year old with a good taste in music... total rarity, isn't it?

  • @xOffWithYourHead i'm right there with you! 16 with a true ear for music =)

  • this song is just as beautiful as Havent we been here before.

  • one of the great band created by mankind...

  • You know I don't care what critics say this album was great. I do get sick of people my age only knowing that Styx sang Mr. Roboto because STYX has so many great songs! They are my favorite band of all time and I am only 20!

  • @urBabygirl123 I am glad to see someone your age appreciates great bands like Styx.

  • @jeffman52001 I hate that no one my age knows who they are! I love them soo much! I got to see them in concert about a year ago and it was amazing! There are the best band I have ever seen live!

  • @urBabygirl123 Hopefully it was with Dennis De Young because he was such an important part of Styx. I think they are not near as good without him!

  • @urBabygirl123 Too bad more people your age won't take a chance on "older" music. the 80s really was fully of some great bands

  • @urBabygirl123 Hi Kyrianna. This is your mother. I thought of you when I read the comment and then I saw the urBabaygirl123 and isn't that you?

  • @urBabygirl123 im 13 and all i have on my ipod are their albums

  • Comment removed

  • @urBabygirl123 Sooooo super cool to hear that!....Im 31 and that pretty much makes me a "young" Styx fan too! While this album may be their worst album (and I mean REAL STYX LINEUP) this album is pure gold compared to not only 90% of today's crap........but even compared to much of overrated 70s and 80s bands! Their weakest album really not all that bad at all!!!!!!!!!

  • @regionguy149 Nice observations, chap! I personally think music started to suck about 20 years ago when Grunge came out. The whole premise was they supposedly cared more about the music that 70s-80s bands but either way i think they had alot less musical talent. Even Grunge was better than todays stuff IMO...

  • it's cool the asian music in the beginning!

  • Me encanta este grupo y este disco concretamente "Styix", lo escuchaba en mi infancia y lo he estado buscando sin exito durante años, has ta que hace poco, lo pude conseguir atraves de internet!

  • The second best tune on this album (next to "Double Life"), imho.

This record is NOT as bad as many have claimed. I mean, hell, even "Mr. Roboto" is cool.

And as nosajj12345 suggests, the intro is jawdroppingly gorgeous! Has that _Bladerunner_ vibe to it.

  • @mournblade1066 I guess one of the advantages of not having an internet back then is that I never knew anyone claimed this was a bad album. I think this is my favorite Styx album. I've been listening to it in my car for weeks now. (I don't drive often or for very long, but I've heard it repeatedly.) A friend of mine is a rocket scientist with SpaceX and they're about to launch their Falcon 9 rocket this morning and he can't sleep, so I looked up the song here to send him the url.

  • beautiful song!

why hasnt styx been put in the rocknroll hall of fame?

    btw,

dennis is pure sugar and lawrence gowan.. splenda...

they may look alike but there a difference. i love the real thing...

  • This intro blows me away. I loved it as a kid and it still moves me even now. Awesome!!

  • This is a very powerful song.

  • LONG LIVE ROCK N ROLL!

  • Beautiful intro. Fantastic song, especially for me right now b/c I am working on a paper and I am just trying to get throught this night :/

  • @Andytheminstrel Me too! This essay is killing me...

  • @Andytheminstrel Just wrote two. I just went through this night. This song, right here. Good stuff.

  • great song. i miss this music

  • This is such a good song from this LP... I love the intro especially. Thanks for posting this.
