To me, the "greats" get a rep for being the best, and then voice tracks are added in case they do f up, so they don't lose their title or their cred. Duh most performances on television aren't live they're lip Synched and dubbed for televison and this was February 2009 at the Daytona 500 so she had just miscarried her first pregnancy a couple of months before and was obviously still grieving

I think Whitney has 3 - 3.5 Octaves, Celine 3.5 - 4 Octaves and Mariah 4-5 Octaves. Mine, hmmmm.... I think it's over for Octaves. My lowest note is F and my highest note so far is f3 but, I can hit a few more notes after the 3rd f, so I think my range is around 4.5 Octaves. If I'm wrong please help me lol!.

@applmac2009: I agree with you there that Celine doesn't have the same vocal quality as Whitney or Mariah, but I think she does have the operatic tone. I've heard Celine do some stuff that Whitney and Mariah can do, however, I'm not sure she has the range that Whitney and Mariah do. I believe WH and MC have a 7-octave range, though Whitney's range is lower on the scale than Mariah's. I don't know what Celine's range is but I guess it's at least 4 octaves. However, I love all three.

The legends I mentioned provided a stepping stone so women like Whitney have success.

I think Whitney has 3 - 3.5 Octaves, Celine 3.5 - 4 Octaves and Mariah 4-5 Octaves. Mine, hmmmm.... I think it's over for Octaves. My lowest note is F and my highest note so far is f3 but, I can hit a few more notes after the 3rd f, so I think my range is around 4.5 Octaves. If I'm wrong please help me lol!.

I've heard Celine do some stuff that Whitney and Mariah can do, however, I'm not sure she has the range that Whitney and Mariah do. I believe WH and MC have a 7-octave range, though Whitney's range is lower on the scale than Mariah's. I don't know what Celine's range is but I guess it's at least 4 octaves. However, I love all three.

@alchap9695 What are you on about? Mariah is always mentioned. Whitney has been mentioned more, but for all the wrong reasons! Her tour recieved a tremendous amount of negative feedback. That's why you heard about it more.
And Mariah never entirely relied on sex-appeal. She has always been best known for her voice, after all. Yes, she's been 'replaced', but so has Whitney and every other 'old' artist.

THAT being said- this rendition of our national anthem WAS a mess, & very painful to listen to.
