  • way to butcher the song, you play it twice as fast as you should and it takes away from the emotion /watch?v=MrZB9nPMvS4 <-- that's the actual speed at which the song is played.

  • @kurtsie527 Well, I listened to the soundtrack before making this video!

  • @kurtsie527 you dont have to be rude, it's a cover so people can interpret it differently

  • Harry Potter + Great music = Heaven.

    Haha, yepp

  • @Naatashax3 Thank you - I like that!

  • I love this piece, congratulations, is perfect!

  • @Valentinamena Thank you for that - and greetings from the UK!

  • You´re great!!!! I wish i would be able to play like you..!!!!!! Where from do you get the notes???? Can you send them to me????

  • @AdVaNtUregirl Thank you very much. For copyright reasons I can't send you the notes (I don't have them anyway as I used a library copy). If you search for the piece on MusicRoom you should find it.

  • speechless..

  • @chocomad99 With approval and not anger I hope!

  • @PSearPianist With approval of course! Wish I could play like that!

  • C'est vraiment magnifique!

  • @laclefdesol8 Merci beaucoup!

  • loved the way you played this piece!

  • @elise620 Thank you Elise!

  • i'd be lucky if i could do anything half as amazing as you played this piece

  • @miathecrazy24 I'm sure there is something you can do, or some talent you have that is way beyond any abilities of mine!

  • man you are amazing

  • @cancrito2296 That's very kind!

  • I'd have to agree with hobbitboy. I can't quite fit this with the song I've been listening to for the past few years. BUT, I must also agree with him that you're a talented pianist. Definitely keep at it.

  • @Nick1Nintendo Thank you. I hope this accurately represented the published score which I used, but of course there may be differences from the soundtrack - which I did check out before making the video, so I hope there are not too many.

  • Wow... Ur amazing... Incredible

  • @ssdalkilic671 Thank you very much!

  • great job! thanks so much:)

  • @Jaou123 Thank you for that!

  • i hate to say it but you killed the tune

  • @hobbitboy666 I'm sorry if you thought that!

  • @PSearPianist dont misunderstand me you have great talent and i think you do some songs really well but there was just something about this one i dunno.

  • @hobbitboy666 Well, I guess one can't please everyone with every video. I should say there are some recordings that everyone else likes that I can't stand, so we all have different tastes!

  • Man, really, this kind of music really touches people, thank you for making them :)

  • @patati91 Thank you. I am pleased to hear that, and it is a pleasure to make the videos!

  • Beautiiful x33 but not so good Audio ^^ you played so good :o

  • @MoonlightAcademy Yes, the audio is not brilliant - but I think it is better on my more recent videos, which I process in a different way.

  • @PSearPianist i wish that i can so good play too xD

  • @MoonlightAcademy Keep practising and you will play better than me, maybe!

  • You're awesome!

  • @agatoooon Thank you very much for that!

  • You are really good!

  • @D0RlEN That's very kind!

  • You're amazing - i love this, i'm actually physically in love with this cover. You did a brilliant job.

  • @silverysongs Thank you. I'm really glad it gives you so much pleasure!

  • woooaah that is soooo beautiful! U R GREAT! :D

do you think you could send me the sheets? :)

  • @ibella01 Thanks for your kind comment. I can't send you the sheets as I don't have them (I used a library copy to make the video), and even if I did I would run into copyright difficulties. I suggest you search for the title on MusicRoom and then you will probably find it.

  • waaaw man , you're so cool

  • @charming003 That's kind - not easy to be cool when your'e over 50!

  • love that song! It has this soothing impact...

  • @Resal1992 Thank you for that!

  • truly amazing, your covers are absolutely brilliant!

  • @arizonacardinals94 Thank you very much!

  • i'm only twelve, but i love this music, because you can hear so meny emonions in it.

its like you are being grabd into the melody of the music.

and, this is the first time i heard hedwig's theme in this piece.

    i love this

  • @harrypotterbest Thank you very much for your kind comment. As you are obviously a Harry Potter fan, I hope you have had - or will get very soon - a chance to see the new (and last) film.

  • You play it much better than I can :) I read it from the sheet music as well, but I could play it better if I memorised it as I find reading two staves at once difficult (I'm a trombone player really!).

One thing I noticed is that at the key change at 0:42 (and again nearer the end) it sounds like you're playing an Am triad in the left hand. On my copy that's a C major triad (it's in treble clef), and the G gives if a very different quality, it sounds lovely. Is you're part different than mine?

  • @pritstick94 Thanks very much for your kind comment. I am not sure about the key change, as I no longer have the sheet music, which I borrowed from a library. When preparing to make the video, I did check with the soundtrack recording, and it may be that I changed the chord because of a misprint in the score - I just can't remember. If you get a chance, check the soundtrack and let me know if I am right!

  • thnx a lot! :D

  • PSearPianist

    :D

can i ask you sth? i want to learn to play without memorizing, and i almost manage it in easy soundtracks- songs. does it get easier with practice?

  • @zemoroza Definitely - you should play through as many pieces of sheet music as you can find (and manage).

  • omg you are actually playing reading the paper! i ll never be able to do that...

    btw amazing cover!!

  • @zemoroza Thank you! I would never be able to play it without the paper as I am bad at memorizing!

  • sounds amazing,is there a place where you could get the sheet music from,i would be very great full, and great cover

  • @sterRobbie Thanks for that. It comes from a book published by Musicsales which I no longer have (I used a library copy). If you do a search for the title of the piece on Musicroom website, you should find it, or a single copy just of this one piece.

  • I love it so beautifully done! :D

  • @Angelsloveall I'm pleased to hear that. Thank you!

  • Omg! I love it. Well done

  • @LuiCardona Thank you!

  • dsuper! Good job....in italian language : FANTASTICO :)

  • @CullenKaty Thank you!

  • How long do you play ????

  • @ceveze2 about 48 years!

  • @PSearPianist nice :)

  • @Tobias7192 Thanks for that!

  • Goosebumps

  • @FQC13 Thank you - that's good to hear.

  • Great playing! Also... your piano looks kind of like mine and the wall behind it looks the same with paintings and stuff... as if it was recorded in my home!

  • @Oscararon Thank you - that's interesting. I hope my piano sounds as good as yours!

  • @PSearPianist Yep, even better! Yours isn't out of tune at all, and you're muuuuuch better at playing it than I am!

  • It's me again ;) and I have one question .. Can I somehow download it in form, for example, mp3? I would like to upload it to my iPod and my mobile telephone and take it with me everywhere..

    and kisses from Poland ;)

  • @666aveszatan Yes. I think RealPlayer will let you do that, and also there are some free tools available from the DVDVideosoft website. I can't put the link here but you can Google it. Their tools will enable you to extract an MP3 from a downloaded video!

  • @PSearPianist you can also use VDownloader

  • Something wonderful, touching, and as good as the original. I have never heard such a fantastic piano. Thank You for that :)

  • @666aveszatan That's a really kind comment - thanks very much!

  • The most beautiful way to play it I heard in my life...

  • @Nazgul3811 What a kind comment. Thank you!

  • Would LOVE to see you preform some Nobuo Uematsu.

  • @SammieeSaysRawrr Thank you. I would have to get the scores first. I am always on the lookout for modern items to put on my channel, but I will only do that if I can get hold of original copies of the music, for copyright reasons. I will look out for some of his music.

  • @PSearPianist I'm sure amazon have the scores, and some are on josh's site.

  • lovely. thanks for sharing !

  • @brownsuga1212 Thank you - it's a pleasure!

  • I ♥ JOHN WILLIAMS & HARRY POTTER

  • I want to get this sheet music!! you played it beautifly by the way :)

  • @CassaCocoNova I can't remember which book I played it from, but you can get the piano arrangement from MusicRoom.

  • Arr yes fantastics choice of music to olay. This is my favourite one from the album.

  • @glehnmarc I'm pleased that I played your favourite.

  • Very well played! This really makes me want to get the music as I can't play by ear.

I especially like what you do with the tempo and dynamics from around 1:24 through to 1:37. Nice build-up of tension.

  • @Chocolateluvr1987 Thanks for your kind and thoughtful comment. You can get the music from MusicRoom I believe.

  • John Williams is just the best!

  • @GisellaHart He is indeed very talented!

  • I must kill 1 person =D

  • @ceveze2 I hope not!

  • You are amazing. You inspire me to learn this song. Thank you :)) Regards FROM POLAND!!

  • where can I get the sheets?

  • @FCBayern221553 I don't have them (I played from a book borrowed from, and returned to a library). I think it is available in a movie themes compilation book published by MusicSales, but I can't remember which one. Search on MusicRoom etc. and I am sure you will find it.

  • @PSearPianist Thanks!

  • Phantastische Leistung!

  • my favourite music from HP.

Your piano skills are incredible and adorable!

  • @Tyler21122112 That's really kind!

  • i play violin, played for about 10-11 years now... and im 14 now. i learn fantastically by ear but can never get the notes with rhythm and 3/4 or whatever right in my head, i get confused. i guess i'll never be able to play from notes and whatever.

But, well done. you play with alot of heart.

  • @SuperFazinator Thank you. There is a lot to be said for playing by ear, and it is better to be able to play well by ear than badly from notes - provided you don't want to be in an orchestra! You are lucky to have been able to learn violin from such a young age - in UK most teachers will not start with pupils until they are 6 or over!

  • @PSearPianist

Yeah well, i want to compose music... maybe i could do that by ear and get someone to write it down? :P i want to be part of an orchestra like the harry potter sountracks.

  • @SuperFazinator The Harry Potter sountracks are played by classical symphony orchestras (eg, London Symphony Orchestra for the latest movie), and the violinists in them will all be music college graduates - and will all be very good sightreaders!

  • one of my favourite songs in harry potter

  • @Matthaeus42 I'm pleased to hear that!

  • Such a beautiful song.. and you played it with so much soul and heart. I love it. It's really beautiful =)

  • @MsIdli Thank you!

  • It is absolutely wonderful! If I could get the piano sheet, that would be more than great. Really nice, indeed! :)

  • @csjoco Thank you.

  • I like very much the song, but the interpretation should be more soft, with more care, like a lullaby

    nice job

  • @wielhelmusvannassov Thank you for commenting.

  • AHHHHH! I remember this part of the soundtrack from the movie :)

Your playing is flawless, can i ask where you got the music from?

  • @theepicprodigyman It is in an anthology I borrowed from the library, but I can't remember which!

  • The song stands for soothing canorousness.

  • @TheBastianNo Thank you. Your last word was new to me, but I looked it up and it does fit the piece!

  • @PSearPianist Are you not english ? Or is this just an uncommon word ?? I don't know for I am german :)

  • @TheBastianNo I am English - it is just a very uncommon word!

  • @PSearPianist I see. However as you said it describes the piece perfectly.

  • Cheers for uploading this !

  • @CharlyZitronengelb My pleasure!

  • the way you play the song is the way the song was always met to be played. absolutly beautiful

  • @SunsetGrey Thank you - I am really glad you like it.

  • This is just amazing.

  • @LoriaWS Thanks very much!

  • You are the best!!

When I listened this for first time,I was ready to cry!!

    Congratulations!!!

    I admire you...

  • @TheOlympia94 Thank you very much - that's really kind!

  • You are brilliant!

    Congratulations!

Could you pass me the sheet music?

  • @Gabriela3298 Thank you Gabriela. I no longer have the sheet music. I played from a library copy of a Musicsales compilation. Do a search on Musicroom and I am sure you will find it.

  • Okey,Thanks and congratulation !

  • i want to be able to play piano like you when im your age :)

  • @Minisazzerella You should aim to play better than me at a much younger age!

  • may I ask how long have you been playing piano?? and good job as always, :D

  • @justinneversleep I have played piano for about 47 years. I hope I have learned something in that time!

  • Great job..!! Window to the past, one of the most beautiful songs i've ever heard..!

  • @SophiePM13 Thanks very much!

  • what a beautiful song

  • @Against93 Thank you! It is.

  • Beautiful!

  • @ilselientje Thank you!

  • @shmoothshailing I don't have the sheet music - I borrowed the score from a library. It is in a Musicsales compilation of film themes. Do a search of the title and composer on Musicroom to find details of the publication.

  • where did you get the notes from?

I searched in the internet but I wasn't able to find them.

It's so frustrating and I would love to play this song :)

If I can't find them the next two days, would you probably be as nice as to send them to me?

  • @TheLovelyscientist I'll send you a message about where I got the notes.

  • @PSearPianist Thank you soo much

I'm soo happy at the moment :)

And I can't wait to start but I'm pretty sure me playing this song won't be as good as yours!

  • Beautiful! Thank you for posting this.

  • @lacouerfairy It's a pleasure!

  • Absolutely beautiful!!!!!!! You have beautiful hand movements! Wonderful job! This is one of the best songs on the soundtrack in my opinion.

  • @LykeOMGitsJessika That's really kind. Although it is the sound that really counts, the visuals are important, especially in live performance where mannerisms can be irritating.

  • This is wonderful...

  • @ElenMos Thank you!

  • That was beautiful. I am working on learning how to play this song. Probley won't play it as good as you, but hey. I'll give it a go. Great work ! (:

  • @KassieMcalear Thank you - and the very best of luck with your own study of the piece!

  • can you make a tutorial too? this is the best i have seen (i am looking for a tutorial all the time)

  • @MrErickArend Thank you! Alas I can't do tutorials (I do not have the equipment or knowhow) but there are other people on here who will do them on request.

  • @PSearPianist maybe you can! just move the camera up close so the people can see how you play it

  • 1:28- 1:36 :) nice I love it

  • @wiesica101 Thank you!

  • Comment removed

  • very good

    and nice HP moment

  • @wiesica101 Thank you - what is an 'HP moment'?
