way to butcher the song, you play it twice as fast as you should and it takes away from the emotion /watch?v=MrZB9nPMvS4 <-- that's the actual speed at which the song is played.
@AdVaNtUregirl Thank you very much. For copyright reasons I can't send you the notes (I don't have them anyway as I used a library copy). If you search for the piece on MusicRoom you should find it.
I'd have to agree with hobbitboy. I can't quite fit this with the song I've been listening to for the past few years. BUT, I must also agree with him that you're a talented pianist. Definitely keep at it.
@Nick1Nintendo Thank you. I hope this accurately represented the published score which I used, but of course there may be differences from the soundtrack - which I did check out before making the video, so I hope there are not too many.
@PSearPianist dont misunderstand me you have great talent and i think you do some songs really well but there was just something about this one i dunno.
@hobbitboy666 Well, I guess one can't please everyone with every video. I should say there are some recordings that everyone else likes that I can't stand, so we all have different tastes!
@ibella01 Thanks for your kind comment. I can't send you the sheets as I don't have them (I used a library copy to make the video), and even if I did I would run into copyright difficulties. I suggest you search for the title on MusicRoom and then you will probably find it.
@harrypotterbest Thank you very much for your kind comment. As you are obviously a Harry Potter fan, I hope you have had - or will get very soon - a chance to see the new (and last) film.
You play it much better than I can :) I read it from the sheet music as well, but I could play it better if I memorised it as I find reading two staves at once difficult (I'm a trombone player really!).
One thing I noticed is that at the key change at 0:42 (and again nearer the end) it sounds like you're playing an Am triad in the left hand. On my copy that's a C major triad (it's in treble clef), and the G gives if a very different quality, it sounds lovely. Is you're part different than mine?
@pritstick94 Thanks very much for your kind comment. I am not sure about the key change, as I no longer have the sheet music, which I borrowed from a library. When preparing to make the video, I did check with the soundtrack recording, and it may be that I changed the chord because of a misprint in the score - I just can't remember. If you get a chance, check the soundtrack and let me know if I am right!
@sterRobbie Thanks for that. It comes from a book published by Musicsales which I no longer have (I used a library copy). If you do a search for the title of the piece on Musicroom website, you should find it, or a single copy just of this one piece.
Great playing! Also... your piano looks kind of like mine and the wall behind it looks the same with paintings and stuff... as if it was recorded in my home!
It's me again ;) and I have one question .. Can I somehow download it in form, for example, mp3? I would like to upload it to my iPod and my mobile telephone and take it with me everywhere..
@666aveszatan Yes. I think RealPlayer will let you do that, and also there are some free tools available from the DVDVideosoft website. I can't put the link here but you can Google it. Their tools will enable you to extract an MP3 from a downloaded video!
@SammieeSaysRawrr Thank you. I would have to get the scores first. I am always on the lookout for modern items to put on my channel, but I will only do that if I can get hold of original copies of the music, for copyright reasons. I will look out for some of his music.
@FCBayern221553 I don't have them (I played from a book borrowed from, and returned to a library). I think it is available in a movie themes compilation book published by MusicSales, but I can't remember which one. Search on MusicRoom etc. and I am sure you will find it.
i play violin, played for about 10-11 years now... and im 14 now. i learn fantastically by ear but can never get the notes with rhythm and 3/4 or whatever right in my head, i get confused. i guess i'll never be able to play from notes and whatever.
@SuperFazinator Thank you. There is a lot to be said for playing by ear, and it is better to be able to play well by ear than badly from notes - provided you don't want to be in an orchestra! You are lucky to have been able to learn violin from such a young age - in UK most teachers will not start with pupils until they are 6 or over!
Yeah well, i want to compose music... maybe i could do that by ear and get someone to write it down? :P i want to be part of an orchestra like the harry potter sountracks.
@SuperFazinator The Harry Potter sountracks are played by classical symphony orchestras (eg, London Symphony Orchestra for the latest movie), and the violinists in them will all be music college graduates - and will all be very good sightreaders!
@Gabriela3298 Thank you Gabriela. I no longer have the sheet music. I played from a library copy of a Musicsales compilation. Do a search on Musicroom and I am sure you will find it.
