wow is great lllidan is ma favourite dude in wow he gets cool wings with dual swords i agree lllidan is the hero he was betrayed not the betrayer im writing to wow to ask if they'll make make im good
Guys, thing is. Every piece of lore before World of Warcrfaft was planned carefully, With world of warcraft they have just made up shit on the go, like a monster CLISHE dragon, deathwing. Before Deathwing was weaker then Arthas, well not anymore xD now he is suddenly cappable of destroying everything and he must be stopped! etc etc. All lore after original WOW must be ignored lol, since it has bassicly ruined all lore. In the Original wow they planned lore aswell, not in BC or WOtlk or Cata.
@Menethil1995 because the dragon soul, he gained half the power of all the other aspects combined, while the other aspects are half as strong. Also he is the earth warder, so he can do stuff like reshape Azeroth. Obviously the lore is not as good as it was, but atleast know what your talking about if your going to bash on it.
He may have saved his people, but to do it he alienated himself. He didn't save his people because he truly wanted to, he was lured by his own greed. He simply wanted more arcane power for himself. He has no compassion, except maybe for Tyrande. And what he controlled, other people had controlled, simply not night elves, but demons, namely the lieutenants of the Burning Legion. They had a right to hate him, he embraced impure powers.
@Andurhil I don't get why people have to call him a True hero, take Grom Hellscream for example..
That dude was a true hero to the Horde, he was always fighting for the better of the Horde, he loved battles but he always helped the Horde and never betrayed it! He always fought with honor and pride and ultimately sacrificed himself to free all of his brothers from the burning blood of Mannoroth.
You guys are really trying to classify Illidan up on that ladder with Grom Hellscream?
Illidan is my favorite boss. Not only is his lore just amazing, he has a better death and story than that pansy Arthas who was just a emo bastard with unholy powers, a sword, and an over inflated ego.
I hope Illidan comes back soon. I have a theory that Sargeras will return to Azeroth, but he needs a body. His powers came in Gul'dans skull and Illidan absorbed it, therefore absorbing the essence of Sargeras. Doing that, Sargeras can ressurect Illidans body who has his eyes and essence. Illidan wont be nice in the next expansion.
great clip. have any of you people saw the wow cheats pack on warcraftbotsXinfo (replace X with .) ? it is astounding, i just down loaded it. it's got completely every thing inside it, gold guides, bots, hacks, glitches and even the new arena glitch. i perhaps shouldnt tell folks about this but at the very least it gives you all a fair opportunity to get it before i own all of you!
betray his brother, his race, and his humanity to fuel his love for power and magic. Illidan had a bad ass character development, and if you still insist that he is a hero , then one might be able to say that he is a tragic hero. One cannot argue that his final state is definitely villain, however.
Illidan may not be the one dimensional villain that he plays in WoW, however, for those of you saying that he is really the hero, perhaps you should read War of the Ancients. From the very beginning, Illidan was power hungry, and ambitious. He was easily corrupted by the arcane energies of the Well of Eternity. Also, his love for Tyrande bordered obsession, creating an easily exploitable rift between him and his allies. He couldn't give up his addiction to the well, even going so far as to
how dare he call illidan the betrayer, Malfurion was given everything in his life. He was spoilt, in love, in power and in friends. Illidan had nothing.
Illidan was the true hero, he was the one who was betrayed, not the betrayer. The writers forgot this in WoW when they made him a one-dimensional villain. Everything he had ever done had been in the name of his people or for his love of Tyrande. He was neither demon nor night elf, he became something much more because that is what he needed to become. His people were closed-minded bigots and hated him for being different, for being able to control that which no one had ever controlled before.
@cowfordflorida1 - I find it hard to see Illidan as the one who was betrayed. He;s the only Kaldorei who could not understand why the wel had to be destroyed and his creation of a new well could have been used the exact same way as the first - to power a portal large enough for the burning legion to enter our world and flat out destroy it. Illidan was the close-minded one
@jfracch could not understand why it had to be destroyed? he understood completely well that the current well had to be destroyed, but it was the other closed-minded bigots (which is what the ruling night elves were) who couldn't understand that a new well would cause much more good than harm. It would only be used in such a way in the wrong hands. The modern-day equivalent would be to say that technology is evil because of it's destructive potential, ignoring all the good it brings. Congrats.
@Andurhil if you're going to be condescending and state your opinion as fact without any argument whatsoever, at least don't be passive-aggressive about it
@cowfordflorida1 On other hand, he attempted to betray a demon lord, failing obviously. Such action that brought him to exile. Put yourself in the "closed-minded" people. You just found out the main reason that demons did burned your country was all due to a man of your nation. Is or isn't he a traitor?
They did forgot nothing. History of wow was witten since a long time... His death was planned many, many years ago. For love or not, he is more a fail than a hero. And died as an man obssesed.
@cowfordflorida1 I think were he fucked up was when he become part of the legion... for the second time and let that dickhead Kil'Jeidan tell him what to do after illdan kinda fucked up his life. I don't think he would of have any point in fighting Arthas his fight was for mostly pointless i think.. Non that he lost or would have lost any way i am not saying that he just did had any use of that fight the undead would just go on a rampage with no one to tell them what to do...
@repaate He knew Kil'Jaeden was afraid of the Lich King being freed, and if Kil'Jaeden was scared, then who could imagine the amount of destruction the Lich King could bring about to Azeroth. He might have been threatened by Kil'Jaeden but he was by no means a member of the Burning Legion.
@cowfordflorida1 Hmm that part i didn't knew really thanks for telling me i didn't knew that he was scared of him lol. The only think that hit me the time i was playing that Kil'jeaden was pissed becouse the lich king betrayed him. Cuz that was the only think they showed (or what was i paying attention to was :D...) If thats the case. And the reason i said part was becouse in the game Kil;jeaden said i offer you to be part of the leagon or somethink not sure what was too long ago don't have game
@repaate Ya Illidan didn't willingly join the Legion.
When KIl'jaeden showed up on Draenor (Outlands), Illidan was shocked because he just finished defeating all the Burning Legion forces there in an attempt to secure it for himself and his forces. He even destroyed the portals so he thought it would be impossible for Kil'Jaeden to find him.
KIl'Jaeden came though and basically blackmailed Illidan into doing it. Illidan knew if it posed a threat to Kil'Jaeden, Azeroth wouldn't stand a chance.
@repaate Oh, Illidan consumed that and used it to save Felwood Forest.
His consumption of the Skull of Guldan gave him the power to defeat the dreadlord Tichondrious. He sacrificed his Night Elf form so that he might defeat the undead forces and stop further corruption.
There's actually a quest in Felwood in WoW that retells the story as well from the perspective of one of Illidan'sdemon hunter followers.
@repaate TBH I don't even remember Kil'Jaeden being in the WC3 campaign, I don't remember seeing him until the WC3 Expansion TFT.
I know Malfurion exiled Illidan after he had defeated Tichondrious and cleansed felwood of corruption. Nice way to thank your brother for saving everyone even though it cost him his night elf form.
@cowfordflorida1 I agree, they made Illidan Attack Shattrath city for no reason, and I mean no reason and someone try to prove me wrong there. Illidan was simply building a defense and *preparing * himself for when the Legion would take their revenge on him for his failure against Arthas. But Blizzard needed something that made Illidan be the bad guy and everyone unite against him so Illidan apparently randomly attacks Shattrath where the greatest Naru Adal calls home, how stupid.
@RebirthWoWGuild I felt the same when BC came out and I heard he attacked Shatt in the lore. I was like why the hell would he do that? I think he would have tried to go to the Naru he was always seeking higher power. He might not have been 100% friends with them but I cant seem him attacking them.
