@CashMoneyMan10293847 I bought the game way back in December 2008 and at that time, Capcom did not have plans to release it in the U.S. due to licensing issues. It wasn't until E3 2009 (which was in June) that it was confirmed that Ultimate All-Stars was gonna be released.

Plus this review was made way before the game was released as well.

@CharlieC213 Only if you use a Freeloader disc or softmod it. Depends on the firmware updated. If your Wii is on 3.2 or lower, then you can use the Freeloader. If your Wii has firmware 3.3 - 3.4, you need to install The Homebrew Channel and the Gecko OS app for The Homebrew Channel via the Twilight Hack (using Twilight Princess). If it has firmware 4.0 - 4.2, you need to install them via Bannerbomb. If it has firmware 4.3 or higher, you need to install them via Smash Stack (SSBB) or Indian Pwns

@Eckskalibur This is not Ultimate All-Stars. This is Cross Generation of Heroes, the original Japanese version that was released in 2008. The one with Hakushon Daimao, who was replace with Frank West, Zero, Joe the Condor, Yatterman-2, and Tekkaman Blade in Ultimate All-Stars.

I'll review Ultimate All-Stars in the future.

That's strange. Out of all the Tatsunoko characters, Hakushon Daimao is the one who gets removed from the US release by licensing issues. Kind of sad, because I would've liked to check out his gameplay. Oh, and is Hakushon Daimao's gameplay really that bad?

When I fought Yami with Gold Lightan, the only way I could beat him was by spamming GL's light punch. For his final form, I had to spam the light punch while standing up, because if you use the light punch while crouching when Yami moves his hand away to do an attack, the punches won't hit his body. On my first few attempts at beating him with GL, I tried beating him with other attacks, but GL's attacks are very slow, so I ended up getting killed a couple of times. Know what I mean?

Not too many during the first few times I started playing this game back in 2008. But after a while, I got better at it.

Also, I figured out a way to avoid that big fire attack. It's a glitch where as soon as that fire comes to you, tag your partner and neither you or your partner will get hit.

My favorite Tatsunoko characters are Joe the Condor and Ken the Eagle from Gatchaman, Tekkaman, Tekkaman Blade, Gold Lightan, and Ippatsuman.

brawl's online is only laggy if you or your opponent have a bad connection. if you both have a good connection, the online is really smooth.

Roll is absolutely one of the most interesting characters of the game, she is fast, small and has combos that cant be megacrash'd.

To be fair, Roll does have some merit. She does have this hilarious finisher where she throws a giant bucket of water, but compared to most fighters in the game, she doesn't stand a chance when most players use her. When I used her, I got as far as losing to Gold Lightan.

Good review, but i strongly disagree with you about Roll begin useless, she's a pretty good fighter with some really cool combos that left me quite impressed. Also about the last boss, the best way to avoid the grab attack from his, its by getting close to the boss as ssoon as he's about to grab you, you roll foward to him immediatly, and that way he would never grab you. I can't wait for this game to come to the US.
