I've been using Ashdown for about 5 years now, and in my opinion nothing comes close

I've played through quite a few different Ampeg rigs, a couple of MarkBass rigs, even tried some Trace Elliot models

And for me, none of them come close to my Ashdown rig and I've only got a MAG

I love the sound of the EVO models

I play guitar and I use always my pinky it's 3 freats away cause i want my pinky to be quite as good as my others fingers. all this guitar and bas players are getting in real trouble if they didn't do this, cause later when you wanna play hard stuff you need your pinky 100%.

yeah i agree using your pinky is important, so you should use it in the right place. one finger per fret.

it comes from teaching myself and its just a bad habbit that i picked up and its stuck!

plus, when im playing live i have my bass pretty low so its near enough impossible for me to use my little finger effectively anyway!

I'm playing the right notes just in a different place.

Instead of playing a Hammer on between 7&9 on the A String, I play it between 2&4 on the D string.

So I'm not playing any wrong notes =]

i wanna start playing bass but whats the defrence between a pick and ur fingers? and can u pick up or down or only down sorry for the stupid questions, i can play guitar alright so would it be hard learning bass?

The main difference between using a pick and using your fingers is the sound being produced.

Pick's tend to produce more of a treble sound, where as your Fingers will usually produce more of a bass sound.

Deciding which to use all depends on the type of music you're going to be playing.

You can pick however you want...

Always pick down, Pick up and down, etc.

Again it depends what sort of music you're going to playing, but if you can play guitar then you should be ok learning bass.

To be honest, most of them aren't too bad to play.

Some of them are quite tricky, especially if you're only just learning to play bass.

But some of the easier ones will actually be good songs to get you started on bass.

And also, if you watch Mark playing the song... he plays it the same way i'm playing it.

he's playing it right, its called substitues. a 5 on the a is exactly the same as playing an open d, and in this case, playing a 5-7 on the a-d is exactly the same as 0-2 on the d-g
