Co2 will cause asphyxiation if it displaces oxygen, but CO2 itself is not poisonous, unlike CO which is poisonous because it latches onto haemoglobin in the blood when breathed in stopping the absorption of oxygen in the longs. So yes CO2 is not poisonous. QED.
