@facelessname I don't know, I wouldn't really associate Charlotte with the Dresden Dolls. I mean, they're both quirky, and there are other similarities, but still ... not the first thing that comes to mind.

And I really don't see why people always try to label Charlotte as this or that. Can't we just accept that she is what she is, and that though she may have been influenced by others, she makes her own sort of music and is not a cross between other things? Or even worse, a wannabe?

I don't think the idea is that she's talking about water falling from the sky as much as just saying: "every time the world starts falling down on her..." I loved the imagery of her opening up and letting go of her baggage when she reunites with her lover in "sanctuary." ...very interesting find here.

The Kate Bush influences (who also influenced Tori Amos) are clear in this song - and wonderfully so! Charlotte has a terrific voice and style and I welcome anyone who can achieve this kind of sound as an exciting and long-awaited addition. Beautiful song and fantastic vocals.

@RipleyE79 Yes, I think she sounds much more like Kate Bush than Tori Amos ever has. I've never understood the "poor man's Kate Bush" arguments that went Amos's way, because besides occassionally evoking Bush in the highest vocals registers, Amos writes very different songs. So does Martin. Anyway, they each have their own style.
