I would just like to comment on the way you responded to a couple of people. You are very well spoken and strong. I wish I could stand up for myself like you do. And of course, I hope you feel better.
@MsCmefly thanks... i've spent years having low self esteem and letting people run all over me. even on the internet. after losing 140lbs, i guess i saw that i was worth something and started taking up for myself and not letting people run all over me and say whatever they wanted to say about me... if they want to think it, fine. but i'll shut them down when they start opening their mouths or fingers about me. you CAN stand up for yourself. EVERYONE is worth something. don't think otherwise. =)
<3 I get horrible headache & migrains too I feel your pain, I really wish they could make better meds, my mom wakes up screamin with bad headaches & nothing eases the pain :( I hope you feel better
You need to go to a neurologist and get tested =and topomax will make your extremities tingle ( like that falling asleep tingle). You should get an MRI and also get tested for seizures. I was on topomax for 3 months and went to my neuro in tears- my quality of life had deteriorated and the side effects were so awful that I had to get off of topomax. Feel better and stay off the computer- give your eyes a rest too.
@BadFattitude i already go to a neuro. have for 2 years, but mainly for my back. she's the one the rx'd me the topomax. i've had an MRI too. no head stuff.... my brain is fine. i've been on topomax for over a year now and i LOVE it. it's helped me greatly. i had a headache for 6 MONTHS STRAIGHT before that med. it's a lifesaver. dunno why this headache broke through. probably stress. i don't have tingles with topomax or any side effects. the weirdness was from the midrin yesterday.
Hi I am sorry to hear about your migraines. I have them also, I did take midrin it didn't help me. I am back on imitrex pill with nausea meds. My dr did give me topamax but every day for two weeks I woke up with a headache so I stopped them. I don't like having any type of headache. Lorotab gives me an headache after a couple of hours. If you go to the ER have them give you Dilaudid with nausea meds you will be high but the migraine goes away. This is what helps me for the last 2 yrs. Go to ER
@MrsKay33 thank you for the informative post... i'll probably be going to the ER tonight if this sucker doesn't go away. i STILL have it! i don't know if i should call my neuro (who's an hour away) before i go to the ER or not though since she rx's me everything or just go. my husband was against me going to the ER last night, but i've got to do something. and from what i hear, i'll need a driver after i get migraine shots at the ER.
awww...i wish i could help you! i know the migraines suck big time. if the midrin doesn't help or keeps making you feel tingly just go to the ER. get a shot to knock it out and rest. and i think most ER's "know" the drug seekers, they are probably there frequently. if you haven't been or don't go often they are gonna know you are in real actual pain and need something. (((hugs))) and let me know how you are feeling.
@shrinkingpunkin thanks... davy's home and i told him how bad i was feeling. he told me to just take my sleepy medicine and not worry about the ER and to see how i feel tomorrow. *sigh*
she said it was prob b/c of stress (body losing so much weight so quickly), hormone changes, and not enough calories and/or protein. so does the midrin help a lot? is it a narcotic? i don't wanna take a narcotic every time i have a migraine. i had to go about 1 1/2 weeks ago to dr for 2 shots b/c of migraine...it was that bad. i just needed a shot to knock me out.
ugh...i hope you're feeling better. i've been having a lot more migraines since surgery (9 weeks post op). like i'm having 1-3 a week. pcp gave me pain meds for them. she rx'd me topamax again but i'm scared to take it b/c of the memory/forgetfulness problems. she's rx'd me a new type of migraine prevention med - nortriptyline. she said it would knock me out so i'm gonna try it this weekend.
@MissToxicLove thanks for your concern, but i'm at a healthy weight and BMI. i've seen all of my doctors and they've said i'm fine. and that's all that matters. not the opinion of internet people. i think it's definitely rude to comment on how thin someone looks. i wouldn't comment on how fat someone looks, so why is it okay to comment on how thin you THINK someone looks? first i'm too fat, now i'm too thin. just goes to show you to live your life for YOURSELF and not for others...
@MissToxicLove what in the hell does that mean? i'm lacking vitamin d so my face looks smaller? june, get real. i could kind of see it in a roundabout way if you had said i'm pasty white since i was in the living room and it was low lighting and you couldn't see my tan and i AM actually sick in this video with a migraine, so the color had left my face.. and since you get vit D from the sun.. etc. but since you made the quip about me being too thin, you're reaching.
@MissToxicLove never your intention? when you preface something with "not trying to be rude..." it's always going to be rude and it's to make yourself feel better for the rude crap that's about to spew out.
@MissToxicLove it's like being told i'm fat from someone all over again. people need to realize that it's very rude to comment on someone's weight or size, whether they're heavy or thin. it's no one else's business other than that person's and their doctor. "you're too thin, small, etc" is an insult just as much as "you're too fat" and it's hurtful. people need to watch what they say.
@MissToxicLove i'm sick from a migraine. you said i was sick looking and getting smaller and smaller..... especially in my face. then said that people were commenting about YOU being too small and now you're at a healthy weight. my migraine sickness today has nothing to do with my weight, but your comment to me was about my face looking small and sickly. ugh.
Besides your weightloss surgery Topamax is known to MAKE a person lose weight. So look into that .I know 2 people non gastic people who were fat and lost weight using Topamax.
Drink lots of water they say headaches are really the Body being dehydrated!
Periods are worse with that time of the month too,but I bet you know that.Stress too is related to migraines. Sounds like you need a visit to the doctors.Tingle and all that sounds wrong....Hope you get better hun! Awe.
I feel bad for you. I think you took too much. I get migraines too and I stick to the old school meds like fioricet and fiorinal and they work better for me. I don't know if you can take those with a GB. You better go see your doctor. I've been keeping up with you even though I ended up not going through with the GB. You've had a very hard fought journey and I respect you as a individual. I hope you are feeling 100% better by the time you read this. Take Care~ Laura
@LauraInCali hey laura... just woke up from a short nap. still have a headache, not as bad though. midrin is from the 70s. it was taken off the market not too long ago and then put back on. i didn't even take as much as i could of the prescribed dosage either. how it's prescribed is- take 2 at the onset of headache, then 1 an hour later until it's gone. no more than 5 in a day. i'm going to see if my neuro will rx me imitrix if i get another one like this. i've been getting headaches more & more
I get severe migraines and I have to take the generic version of Imatrex I do the self injections (just to get it in my system asap) I use to have to go to the ER everyother week. It sounds like you might be allergic to the Midrin. I would try the imatrex injection version. I am so sorry you are going through this. I would lay in the bathtub and just cry, My husband would have to help me to the hospital. It is not stupid It should not make you feel this way! You can call me I will inbox u my #

I feel for you. I’m very worried.
I got diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, and severe migraines. Unfortunately, my insurance won’t cover a lot of medications.
I think that you should lay down for a little bit, and see if you feel better. If not, maybe you should go to the hospital or an urgent care center.
Hang in there. Sending my love. <3
