@TheWildchief i think this song is connected to a movie. that's why its kind of doris day /broadway. in those songwriting says the caledar was used to represent life. spring months were youth and fall months meant approaching death and melacholy over a life ruined by mistakes and lost love, The "may december marriage"this song is about having the guts to take a chance on love.love and sex were suppresed in the 50's there was no birth control pill.Abortion was illegal and pregnancy was a shame.
If Bill O Reilly could sing lol this guy is a nutjob, was nothing more than a racist who took songs written and perfromed by a minority knowing they wouldnt get airplay and then sanatized them inot his fundamental christian ideologies tht plague the world today. He is homophobic and a major barier to any form of kindness or joy in our society today, ill be glad when biggots like him are gone
Back in the fifties, in a cuban station called radio kramer. Daily they have 1/2 hour with Pat Boone and follow l/2 hour with Nat King Cole. from 7p.m. to 8.p.m. I never missed them
I 1st heard this song when 12 and collecting from my customers for their newspaper delivery, I stood on the doorsteps until the song was over. I don't care what they say - it was great "back in the day."
April Love is a beautiful song and I am sorry to say I cannot find the movie anywhere. I would love to have it even for just the story alone. This song was one of Pat Boone's best. In the movie even better.

How much I loved this tune as a little gal ... haven't heard it for .... naaa not gonna say how many decades...hahaha.
Pat Boone had such a gripping voice and hearing it today, so strange yet true ...I still have the words.
Tks. for this lovely upload that not just for me, but for many this melody is surely embeded in our heads.
