  • Sounds like the serpentine belt idler pulley, and or belt tensioner. Bearings often go bad in both of these. Noise is subtle at first, then gets louder after a few weeks. Is also louder / noisier when you put the car in gear & keep your foot on the brake (no throttle). Gets quieter when you rev the engine above idle. I just pulled both the tensioner and idler off of my car tonight & the bearings are noisy in both. Don't let this go too long or the bearings WILL fail and can cause damage
