  • Kya miyan, you told us how to make osmania biscuits now when I made them I dont know how to eat them without proper authentic Irani chaye....

Also tell please how to make Irani tea,

And thank you so very much.

  • @ghayasbilbees lol ! yes, osmania biscuits need irani chai to go with ! long ago i had asked a partner of Garden Restaurant, Sec'bad, how they made their chai ... he had told me this ( i dont think he was hiding anything ) 1 part good milk + 2 parts water brought to a boil, add the tea leaves and boil the mix ( he calls it cooking the tea ) till you get " that " color .. then sugar .. then the owner personally tastes a cup of this brew to approve the taste ! all the best ! cheers !:-)

  • @oldernwiser0 Thank you very much sir thank you, namaskarem, Tamara krutagntha, :-)

  • Hello,

It is important to note that while making osmania biscuit you should add Gram flour in it

Note : sugar and butter to be mix first properly till sugar dissolve in butter mix maid, gram flour, baking soda, pinch of cardamom and water

then make a small dough out of it and keep it in oven

The recipe he showed for osmania biscuit is totally wrong

don't try this method otherwise you will get hard chappati out of it

  • hi, can we bake these in oven? if yes, can you specify the temperature etc? thx

  • Sorry, tried your method of pricking too, they don't have the flavor or texture of osmania biscuits. I'm looking for that powdery texture and that yummy flavor.

  • i suppose you could add fennel seeds as well

  • If you guys have a facebook, join my group called, The Promiscuous biscuits

  • Hello,

I tried this recipe yesterday but I am very sorry to tell you that it didn't come out well. They poped up like small chappatis.. and were not at all crispy. Please let me know, where I could have made the mistake. Thanks.

  • i'm sorry for you that it didnt turn out well.. i usually prick small holes with a fork on the surface of the biscuit before baking it and this usually helps in keeping it from puffing up.. secondly, you should not leave the dough for long periods after mixing ..that is a method of making soft chapatis.. i hope these tips would help you in your next attempt ..all the best ! :)

  • Thanks a lot for your reply. I will again try to make them and will definitely let you know the result.
