It would sound a little more like you knew what you were talking about if you spelled Nortan correctly. Last time I checked it's N-o-r-t-o-n. And for the average user, Norton is one of the better products. The signature based anti-virus has become yesterday's technology. AVs, like Norton, with cloud-based behavior and reputation based scanning are the new breed as client-based AVs are pretty much only good for cleaning up after you get attacked (assuming your AV wasn't compromised as well).

That's not to say that they can't infect your computer with a RAT, most of the time they can upload things straight to your computer if you're infected.

If you are going to use symantec software such as Norton, Norton Securities, etc, you better make sure not to run out your subscription, pay that money, because the minute you don't, you will be infected, your computer will run slow, etc. If you choose not to pay anymore, try Avira Antivir or Avast Antivirus software which is free to home users. I repair computers, if norton or mcafee is out of date, they are the first to go before i do anything else. They are viruses themselves if out dated.
