We all have a bias in some way, mine is with freedom and the American republic. Ron Paul is the only guy in 20 years who is a credible candidate. He could run as a martian and I would vote for him. Many people will not try Paul's solutions because they find them extreme and reactionary. Returning to the gold standard, as in McKinley's day, is definitely a minority opinion. People are not exactly breaking down the door to agree with this outdated plan. Minimal governmentt means the robber barons rule.

You then have republicans who like warfare in general but also spend more on government involvement in my life. I have no reason to like either party. And as long as both parties run this country, I will vote for the outsider, and that is Paul. I have good reason to be cynical. I know history and I know what I am seeing today. I wish I could opt out but I dont really have a choice.

@Jononutoob First off, most of his spending was on the conflicts in the Middle East. Second, Our population has yet to hit 300 million, so you're off on that. Third, regardless of our population, Obamacare isn't being given to everyone, just those that cannot afford to buy it themselves. His main focus has not been taxing the rich, that's only recently, for the past 6 months or so. He eagerly extended the Bush tax cuts.

He also signed NDAA (which was drafted by McCain, but I digress) and even removed a lot of necessary health/safety regulations.

I don't know why we got into Quagmires in Iraq and Afghanistan, they needn't have gone on for so long. They got rid of dictators, true, was that worth all of those American lives? Now we're holding our breaths on Iraq, to see if this "democracy" we sort of imposed will hold. What if the Turks attack the Kurds, what then? But we'd better not follow Mr. Paul's suggestion and withdraw Now from Afghanistan. 2013 is probably wiser. It would be a tragic waste if the Taliban just took over again.
