@AkiraChanXX no problems, let me answer that for you;
1. You don't have use pearls. I know some people that would refuse to drink it if there were pearls in their drinks. Some people find the texture rather "off putting". I love tapioca pearls.
2. The reason they use a shaker is to "softly blend" the mixture together. An electric blender would be OK, but if you could make them both side-by-side, you would instantly notice the difference in taste. Just stir it around with a whisk in a jug.
@danijeljames But then again if there is no pearls its not really bubble tea because the pearls are the main idea so if you don't add the pearls would that take the main idea away. Other wise wouldn't it just be cold tea with sugar?
Bubble Tea is not called this because of the Tapioca pearls. Bubble black tea in Chinese is "pao mo hong cha" which literally translated to "froth red tea". "Zhen zhu nai cha" literally translates to "pearl milk tea," which is what is being made in this video. The "bubbles" come from the foam that is generated on the top of the drink due to the shaking to mix it up. Therefore Bubble Tea does not include pearls. You would need to order a Bubble Tea with pearls to get Tapioca........ in Taiwan. :)
That looks soooo gooood *o* I am so gonna make some of this :D Just need to get hold of some Tapioca Pearls. There is this Seed Pearls Tapioca, would that be right to use?
@Pazhukalov3 Have you tried looking on the interenet? If you live where there is a supermarket chain, and they have an asian food section, they might also have it in there. Tapioca is just a kind of plant or the plant's root or something. Not sure. It's a vegetable thing though. This I do know. Haha
@Pazhukalov3 Depends on where you live. I would try at your local asian groccery store. If you have a "China Town" where you live, that would help. I am in Adelaide, SA. If you were in Australia I could help you out a bit by finding out how much they are and mailing them to you, but other than that your best bet is an Asian groccery story. ;-)

where can i get the tapioca pearls?
Pazhukalov3 1 year ago
@Pazhukalov3 Depends on where you live. I would try at your local asian groccery store. If you have a "China Town" where you live, that would help. I am in Adelaide, SA. If you were in Australia I could help you out a bit by finding out how much they are and mailing them to you, but other than that your best bet is an Asian groccery story. ;-)
