I'm not entirely sure. I think when you use to X-items in a row, animations start. I can't be sure, but it appeared to be once I had used the second X-item that they started up.
I didn't use an emulator. I plugged an old SNES system into my PC via a TV card, and recorded it using the software on the PC. I had a special cart which allowed you to plug GameBoy games into the SNES. The background is the one that is automatically put in the background when run on the SNES console.
Beat that other guy with the pokemon speed run, on Solracxealz account. Nice.
Although I have to note, with the 4 turns to kill Dragonite (x special, fireblast x3) wouldn't it have been easier to just slash him 3 or 4x (and avoid Fire Blast's high 30% burn rate)
but that wouldve made it an even 2:00, if anything :P.
Haha, thanks. And yes, it probably would've been easier, but for some reason, whenever I used Slash, Dragonite would be Full Restored. However, using Fire Blast the result above happened (only this once though). However I only got through to Dragonite a few times, so I probably didn't really look into it enough. But oh well, apparantly it's MUCH faster to do a run with Squirtle anyway (about 6 or 7 minutes faster), so I will be looking into doing one of those some point in the future.
It's not bugged, I restarted this section A LOT of times to get this fight. I'm not sure how I can prove it's not bugged, but every other time I managed to get through Gyarados the battle went painfully slowly because he would heal his Pokémon, etc. I'm not sure if the Burn stopped him healing or something.

I don't think I could've fit them all on in a single section on youtube, even if I was holding B for all of them. Sorry.
