I'm guessing its an automatic by the way you launched it, but 15.7@87mph is pretty damn good in my book, especially considering the motor only puts out what, 200hp at the crank? You take it to a real drag strip? I gotta 2006 Nissan Altima 3.5SE 5spd and my best at the track was 14.73@97.49mph, I/E/P.
it makes 170 at the crank. i did take it to the track and it took forever to get that time because i had to learn how to launch it, yes its and auto. it runs pretty quick for being a pushrod v6. hopefully ill be in the 14's in a year or so, first i want to build an s10, so the 'ho is on hold. those altimas are quick too, but thats a dohc motor too, which is completely different then my motor.
well it took me a couple of times to get it that low. i was running 16.3 for the first 2 times i went to the track. rev to about 1k rpm with your foot on the brake and just push the pedal enough to not spin the tires. take the traction control off. i didnt do a burn out for my 15.7 run. and make sure you let your car cool down alot. i got to the track, popped the hood and sat there for about an hour before my first run. let me know what you run...
its basicly the same car, but the grandams have a higher final gear, 3.23. i have 3.08 gears. they get off the line much better. with more track time im sure i could get a lower et.
I don't understand, are you that proud of your exhaust? It doesn't sound nearly as good as other alero's I see on the road. You need to swap that Flowmaster muffler for something else, please. Then when you get a Magnaflow or the like, you should put up another video and I promise you, it will be a bit louder and sound a lot better.
magnaflows are quiter...i've herd them. my car sounds much better at idle then a magnaflow. besides now i have dual super 40's on my car. im not going to ripe them off and put on somthing else because one person doesnt like them.
mustangs suck balls even if your gonna buy the piece of crap atleast get the 5 liter when it was worth a buck

Yeah the older GTs with the 3.1 have 3.63s Real quick off the line and there lighter.
.08 to .23 is mabye a 2 tenths difference, if you want even higher, just put on smaller wheels when you run the track.

1 Question:
All of those flowmasters ya'll put are they "universal" or do they make them especially for the Alero as well?
Alonshalev 4 years ago
