  • roy died at the age of 75

  • He was so handsome..I loved him in Jaws.. he's one of my favorite actors

  • Roy Scheider was a great actor

  • My mistake - I forgot he made the film "2010" which was what this is for. Apologies

  • When was this interview actually done? He died in 2008 so it couldn't have been too long before that, if it was meant for 2010.

  • if u dont know who he is then u dont no wat the best cinema is...

  • he was there for a friend in need.

  • A truly underrated actor.

  • He is right, if you don't keep your sense of humor about the military you will go crazy, Catch 22 is a perfect analogy.

  • Thanks for posting!!

  • I Think Roy Is Great!

  • One of my favorite actors EVER. I was disappointed when he accepted his role in SeaQuest... because that show was completely beneath an actor of his caliber. And I don't feel bad about saying this, either... because as I understand it, Scheider wasn't very happy with that series, either.

  • Roy Scheider is one of my " Best Actors In The 70s!"

  • HE seems such a nice guy. And he was a great actor.

  • Here we are, 2010 as we speak. We haven't even returned to the Moon, not to mention setting up a base there or even starting work on an expedition to mars. The whole world would participate in that miracle, but nooooooo. Warrack O'bummer stops it dead at start of project Constellation. Mars has 24h day, 38% Earth's gravity, and an atmosphere of mostly CO2. Of course it will take hundreds or thousand of years to adapt this planet for our colonization, but WTF are we going to start???

  • Why didn't you ask him about "Scorcerer" or William Friedkin?

  • you know, you were right, sir, about the two suns.

this year i have witnessed this phenomenon several times, as the black monolith phone is repullsed by your cancer my friend. Again, we're gonna needa bigger boat. It's like a rainbow in one spot.

    see you on the aft.

  • Roy, I want to sit down in Heaven and have a conversation with you just like this. You had an enormous impact on my life.

  • What s thoroughly genuine and decent man he was - not to mention a great actor.

    R.I.P Roy

  • have you people heard of sound/audio?

  • Good guy, great actor. R.I.P Roy

  • How do you not have the "Blue Thunder" interview you did with him? That was his best film!

  • @americanjedi77 - Amen - could'nt have said it better !!!!.

  • He never held himself up higher than anyone else and thats what made him the greatest!

  • I liked Roy as an actor but I've never heard him in an interview. He was a really bright, articulate and down to earth person. I'll miss him.

  • Rest in peace my friend.

  • Roy Scheider was one of the best actors during the 1970s. From THE FRENCH CONNECTION to JAWS to ALL THAT JAZZ, he really delivered the goods when called upon. My favorite row he played was Martin Brody in JAWS & JAWS 2.

  • favorite row!

  • we need a bigger boat!

  • Hey definatly got his bigger boat when he played Captain Nathan Bridger on SeaQuest

  • @MustangScott2000 Now that's one of the funniest things I've heard! didn't think of that one and wish I did :)

  • His comments on the military are bang on!

  • He came across as a very grounded guy.

    He will be missed

  • class

  • loved him

  • What a cool guy. If there's an afterlife, here's hoping you're there with your Seaquest co-star Jonathan Brandis.

  • Merci for this excellent interview of the late Roy. Do you have more video interviews with him?For Scheider's fan, there are on youtube : "Portrait of a downfall child" and the trailer of "Un homme est mort"/"The outside man".drwolfcake posted a nice ad 4 cigarettes with Roy and "Last Embrace"good sequence. Personaly "Smiles",a short movie directed by John G. Alvidson with a young assistant-Martin Scorsese! in 1964 is the most original tribute. Rare movies with my favorite overtaned actor;-)

  • I interviewed him for Blue Thunder bu no longer have the interview...Im glad I kept this one...I liked him a lot...great actor!

  • that was cool why did he hate JAWS 2 ? thanks for posting

  • He only hated the start cause he felt that they would show more of the shark, than him. But they told him that they weren't and then he was happy filming the rest. That bad mood was only from the opening e title with him.

  • Roy was a class act...

  • A great talent gone too soon.

  • Great actor nice guy!Gone to soon

  • Thanks you for posting. The ending has special meaning now. Very funny and smart guy.
