  • Nice - My house used this for lighting way back. You just pretty muck filled me in on how. Thanks,

  • тупо!!!

  • Its so much fun trying cool stuff like this, great demonstration.

  • You use FIRE to make FIRE??

  • Nice Video !!!

  • nice simple demonstration.

  • @jimlafazanidis gamas kai dernis :D:D:D

  • @jimlafazanidis Go to hell gay dude he cant help it!

  • @jimlafazanidis your a dickhead man.

  • @jimlafazanidis Cock.

  • @jimlafazanidis try being nice you might enjoy life for a change

  • Nice simple helpful demo .... there is one minor problem your using fuel to make fuel....it does demo the way it's driven off, but then may be bend the burner to down, so once started, the burning of it's own gas continues the effect.

  • how is this efficient? you are using two sources of fuel to have the same out come as if you were to only use one source. i understand this is for demonstration... i'm asking because i don't know, not trying to slam your video.

  • @dakoffran You could build this and use it with only wood, lets say for exampel in the woods. Instead of lightning the gas you can for example pump the gas into a gasolinengine.

  • Yes, it is a demonstration. In the years before the advent of centralized natural gas utilities or areas without access to natural gas the wood or coal gas would be piped through the house to lighting outlets (gas lights). The gas would be produced either in a basement or in an out building it wasn't produced at the source where the gas was needed. In the demonstration imagine the piping going into another room and the can as a gas light.

  • very good work on the gassifier and the video

  • could i compress this gas and run it in a car?or make electricity?

  • @DevilGTP97 Yes sir, hopefully this link shows up watch?v=8Ag6LoqcVsM

  • is this clean energy?

  • Would it be possible ti light it with out the gas bottle, if so how?

  • Comment removed

  • Awesome video dude. Great work! Keep it up.

  • Hmm, seems wood gas would be an inevitable byproduct of the charcoal making process. I wonder what companies who produce charcoal do with it? Fueling their ovens comes to mind...

  • Most excellent burn. I want to see it without the propane though. Excellent video! Thanks for uploading! And to all you morons out there, get real, this guy is way more intelligent than any of you. He can't help his speech issues. I have my own issues and wouldn't want someone making fun of me. How about you, are all of you making fun of him perfect? I doubt it. Met ya'll are nothing more than idiotic bullies that couldnt make it in the wilderness. I bet that this guy could!

  • I wonder if there is not more energy being consumed, than is being produced?

  • @waksupi it could probably be done with coals to reduce amount of energy to produce this fuel

  • giovanyid, says he speaks three languages, has he ever considered learning english?he either is stupid or has a learning disability.

  • all you people cutting ths guys stuttering i say to them, FAH-Q! i would challenge you guys all to a battle of wits , but i don't fight an unarmed person. chadphil evidently is much higher in the food chain than you. Thanks for a great video. great concept and fabrication. easy to follow just what we needed We ALL have some sort of disability........theirs is just half a brain. keep up the good work

  • MAN AGAINST NATURE -SURVIVING THE WILD

    MAN AGAINST MAN- SURVIVING VIOLENCE

    MAN AGAINST SELF- SURVIVING STUPIDITY

    MAN AGAINST GOD- SURVIVING KARMA

    MAN AGAINST NOTHING-BORING!

  • thanks for the idea man. I was planning on making a lawn mower engine run on woodgas, just for fun. Mow the lawn for free! haha

  • @KrankieV2 ... How about making it run on grass gas? I want to gassify yard waste!

  • @Mrsconnelly723 Simply because wood is much easier to work with than grass clippings. Grass would have to be dried and processed before burning... I'd rather just collect a few twigs here and there and break them up.

  • @Mrsconnelly723 Compost those clippings all the way! :)

  • Good stuff!!

  • Simple? More like rudementary.

  • Here's the equation:

    Thing-that-makes-fire + fancy dohicky = fire

Anyone else see a simpler way???

    (still cool)

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH! So many videos are so freakin complicated, I think they just want to show how wonderfully smart they are but this makes a lot os sense, thank you so much

  • He is just thinking to fast to speak it or he has mild tourretts dick heads.

  • I love the simplicity of this example. Thanks so much for this. How long were you able to keep a flame going?

  • @heald269 you're a fucking faggot shit troll...

  • cool vid explains well

  • thanks chad, Im a hs teacher and the kids will be learning this. Thanks for the inspiration

  • nice design i like how small it is i was wondering how long does it actually produce gas for. i am trying to make one i can attach to a go kart i made. so it needs to be small.

  • This is for these that Commented me.Nice that you corected me.Shame of you the way you did. Were I from japan or Germany I bett noone said anything .But I am from Romania and ,you know Americans are soo high that Got need stairs to reach it.What a big surprise coe for you.!Read in Apocalipse...

  • So ,this gaseifier can be nonstop recharge, and can give three kind of produse ,including diesel and gasoline. Also if you are interested in wind sistems i have very good succefull resuts, wind turbine, neodim generators, personal projekts. Also in hydrogen storeing at the vehicle ,which can be the solution.Youll see I am serios.Just please forgive one second of stupidity-can hapend anyone

  • I realy am sorry you are sad on me.Realy I regret ,but i didnt want to sond so.In the feature I will be more careflull.I realy apreciate what are you doing cause I do af thislot.I agree from Romania come also bad things. But you se that can be also nice and clever things in Romania where many bad people long time make romanians not to grow up.We`re trying. But please forgive me that realy was stupid.I will send you after two month a complet plan and video of my Plant of plastic gaseifier diesel...

  • th-thi-thi-this bur-burne-burner~

  • @94brian grow up

  • Now can you make a wood gasifier without using the propane stove?

  • GGGGGut!

  • @chp656 No wonder your a hater.

    Your from Romania.

Romania is like the asshole of the world, the only thing that comes out of it is SHIT.

  • @CMLovejoy Are you sure that from asshole come shit?I thought that depend what did you eat a day beforeTry with gold.See that a asshole is in Malaysia too:Brian, seems to be american. In brazilia too.All earth is a asshole! In romania if somebody laught at you, and you get upset ,laught more becouse that maens you have no brain

  • @CMLovejoy did you know that the fountain pen was invented at 1828 by a romanian, the insuline, antipest vacccine, and...But see some of them here: you tube- the great inventors of Romania among the first... ,see about fires jetplane and COANDA EFECT and flyng soussery(i dont know to write this)...ok

  • t-t-t-today junior

  • @brazilianEYEreportU With comments like that, its no wonder Brazilians can't get out of poverty and AIDs.

  • Is it possible to store wood gas?

  • Hey great video. Thanks. I didn't realize it was that easy to do. I'm gonna experiment with this a little.

  • do charcoal companies make mephane gas then as well?

  • thats a load of baloney,,,,,,,,,burning propane to burn wood wow.......thats just amazing........or maby there is something to it; that wood on fire is making up more smoke then just burning propane yea thats a plus

  • Nice video Thanks

  • I LIKE IT

  • i like it but your stutter has to stop

  • @312kat1 i wonder what drives people to be assholes..?

  • I don't think vehicles were fueled by wood gas - the CO and Hydrogen were converted to diesel by heating them in the absence of oxygen with a cobalt or iron catalyst - this causes the hydrogen and carbon to form various lengths of hydrocarbons - some of which are similar to diesel. I would love if you could incorporate this final step and come up with some diesel at the end - bet your video would get millions of hits !!

  • i wold have made some sort of stove out of it

  • Dumb question number 1 would you not be using more gas from the stove than you are recieving from the gasifier?

  • @bargainbin21 >>LISTEN<< to what he says in the video. You use wood to make the fire normally, just gas for the demonstration.

  • @bargainbin21 you can use wood to burn under it or charcoal to do the same thing the the stove is doing

  • @Demultiplexer they did it in the war to run their cars on it.

  • @sergiusimplu You're a moron. I bet you didn't know that people who stutter think faster than they speak. You seem to speak faster than you think.

  • @LouieG7777 Dont be and ass, thats a condition, remember I might be a father and I hope he talks like that.

  • @giovanyid You better hope he has better grammar than you too.

  • @giovanyid Well my first language is not english, and at least I talk 3 languages. Try me.

  • Comment removed

  • @LouieG7777 I know some people that stutter and that doesnt affect no one. By the way something I think faster than speaking and thats true a stutter.

  • @giovanyid no hay problema my friend.

  • @LouieG7777 .... ignorance is bliss...bet you feel all full inside having pointed out something obvious don’t you cupcake. And then by assigning it the task of making you feel better you feel validated by your ignorant statement....pure hearts make you vomit don’t they. Ever consider that you hate faster than you can apply it, and you really just applied hate faster than you have the guts to back up? Hey guys....Louie wants attention, every body look at him.

  • @Securityinc1 Calm down Sigmund Freud.

  • @sergiusimplu Fucking of, it must be annoying as fuck to stutter

  • Ubo, yes, he's burning propane to make wood gas for the demonstration. But, other sources of heat will work. Concentrated sunlight from a Fresnel lens or parabolic dish/trough will also work.

You can't make gasoline at home to run a generator, but you can make wood gas.

  • I think in my opinion these tank gases would be wise to use a bubbler for more safety.

    Thanks

  • You are spending gas to make gas. Why?

  • No problem. Researching wood has production has been fun for me.

Wood, coal, manure, corn stalks, cherry & apricot pits---just about any bio waste---can be gasified to make producers gas.

It can be stored in balloons for later use as well, though I'm unsure exactly how long. Several days, at least.

  • It's a demonstration video showing wood gas production. He lit it on fire to show it's flammable, show it is wood gas.

The purpose is not to make fire produce fire, but to produce wood gas, which can be piped into the fuel intake of an engine, running that on wood gas only, no gasoline.

  • @mangyscavenger thanks for that, makes more sense now :)

  • I'm not sure i understand the purpose of this. You use a fire to make another fire? Does it keep itself going once it starts? Not being an ass I simply don't understand the benifit of this setup. nice design though.

  • Use a parabolic trough to provide heat for gasification. Solar/wood powered generator.

  • Put this setup along a parabolic trough & use the sun as the heat source, extending the wood supply.

We The People can solve this energy problem all by ourselves, if we have the will.

  • Put a set up like this in a rocket stove, run a generator to recharge a battery bank for home power while you cook dinner or heat your home &/or heat your home's hot water.

Go ahead & distill fuel alcohol with wood gas & you cover your transportation needs as well.

  • Excellent demonstration video.

Why make wood gas? Because it can be routed to a burner for a more precise temperature control. Think about a burner beneath an alcohol still for fuel alcohol.

Because filtered wood gas can fuel an engine--generator.

  • MAD STUTTER! Sounds like you have it under control, though. I don't think I counted more than four starts to any syllable. It takes some courage to post a video here, considering that. Props to you, and thanks also!

  • Interesting. I assume one could simply pipe a portion of the heat from the gasified flame back to the wood so it was a self-contained fuel system?? I love this kind of messing around with ideas! Thousands of people giving their own spin on interesting experiments . . . . it's like having a massive, worldwide R&D center open 24/7.. Great work.

  • I guess this is to change one form of energy into another. I can't see it being very good on the rings in a engine if it give off cresote, like logs in a fireplace? I guess it would at least get you around as long as you could keep the fire going under the container with wood in it. Thanks for the information!

  • This is an interesting demonstration. The gases in the wood provide fuel for a flame and when the can is opened what is left is charcoal which can also be burned. Correct me if I'm wrong, please.

  • Shouldn't underestimate people, you emotionallly weak, silly sods. Maybe he would try to stutter, "I'm really sorry for beating your ass, it's just weak minded people get on my nerves" Or just laugh at your stupidity.

Immature and feeding the trolls I know. Really, cool mate. I had no idea of these systems or the principle on how it works. I live in the country with a log burner trying to be green and save money.... It's great to have a blue print like this. Cheers mate

  • hey, i want to try somin like this, but would this work on a simple wood fire? also if the gas is carbon monoxide, isnt tht poisen?

  • Awsome vid

  • Nice vid. I made one just like it, but I used a bigger can for the wood to go in and the flame will light for a few seconds or so and go out. Thinking I need to use a smaller can or maybe bigger holes in the burner can. Great wook and keep it up

  • pro pro pro propane torch just kidding good project good idea

  • GREAT VIDEO. This breaks it down and makes it easy to understand the science behind what is happening. Good work.

  • other than that you know your shit very nice project

  • o o o okay lol

  • why are you repeating what you say alot of times example pro pro pro propane

  • I I I like tur turles

  • Very interesting vid...thanks for putting it up.

  • so you use the gas created by the wood to power a gas stove, i presume its to cook, why not just cook over the fire?

  • @chomotherispoop go to hell u little cuntbag. he can't help that he stutters

  • can this gas be stored under pressure for any meaningful time, or does it need to be burned immediately? At what temp does the wood need to be heated to drive off the wood gas? Lastly, you ought to be left with charcoal to burn, right?

  • great. thanks for posting, man.

  • you showed us a basic principle, I only guessed about thanks alot

  • good video mate :)

  • just signed up to you tube for one reason. To tell that fuckin prick chomotherrispoop not to be such a horrible cunt! I'm sure he's just some low life drug taking, jobless scum bag who picks on others who are doing thier best to contribute something worthwhile. What a horrible prick!!

  • great job!

  • All combustion for fuel is obsolete. Electric cars outperform internal combustion cars. WE ALL NEED TO STOP USING FOSSIL FUELS NOW! The rest of the world knows this, even China, Iran, Germany & the Saudi's. They are all building wind & solar plants as fast as they can.

Massive public works programs got us out of the depression. America needs a massive green energy program now. Upgrade the grid, re-employ fossil fuel workers in OUR green sector.

  • good work on the video and craftsmanship!

  • xceln't demo! around the middle to last part of the 2nd world war ppl used these instead of gasoline drive their cars.

  • You may have already answered this but what's the point of making wood gas when you have to put in more energy,(the Propane), than what you're getting out of it. Please explain.

  • @dshedder1 he is doing that just to make it easier,

you would use another type of open flame to burn the can to get gas

  • do you have a studder or is tat just the video

  • This is just what I have been looking for...a really simply project to understand how wood gas works. Awesome

  • wow, thanks. this gives me so many ideas. your video is awesome. thanks again ! im a tinkering type guy myself, always trying to make something that works.im a bit older than you, but i know i can learn a few things from you.dont let the mean people get ya down.your better than them and they gotta cry about it.lol

  • awesome vid man

  • Thanks for sharing this.

  • Thanks for adding this video. I just seen where a truck was being made to run off of a gasifier, and I could not comprehend what was going on. Your video helped me to understand Thank you

  • Comment removed

  • I've seen pics of some of the WWII woodgas vehicles. Many with large bladders on top to store the gas. Have you messed with storage, or compression of the gas?

    and...nice demonstration.

  • extra cool man keep on keepin on God bless

  • definately cool - basic materials, biomass and heat = gas

make an example with wood as a heat source!

  • very cool

  • Did I Studda!?

  • why doesnt my woodgas burn ? i did exactly like u did

  • @kienanyeo Make sure you have a good stream of gas going and a torch to light it. If the wood is damp, it makes it much harder. It took about 8 minutes before I had a a steady enough stream to hold a flame. Also try to make some type of burner so the gas can mix with air. I piped mine through a small tin can. The can had holes in the bottom. That helped the flame.

  • @chadphil , thanks for the vid friend loved it, now what i wanna do is try and build one that produces enough gas that it can keep the destructive distilatoin goin but also run a engine

  • Excellent video. Thank you for taking the time to make it.

    Bill

  • Great video. One of the more desciptive and simple to make set ups. It amazes me how childish and narrow minded some of the commenters are. I am sure thier life is perfect and so they have the right to judge others. Thanks for sharing! Ignore the ignorant they seem to be more prevelant.

  • What is left in the can? Is it charcoal or ash. If it's charcoal could it be used later to heat the fresh wood used in the can?

  • Very nice demonstration. I have just become interested myself in the process of biomass gasification. I have been very intrigued by solar heat and HHO production. I just built my first hydrogen dry cell. I seen where biomass gasifiers produce many gases. Methane, ethanol, and even hydrogen. This is a very potent mixture. I plan to build my own gasifier. Have you built a larger one?

  • this is very nice looking and easy to build 5 stars.

    the cheap guy

  • The smoke is: carbon monoxide (which is flamable), tars and some other stuff.

With this setup, there is a lot of tar in the gas.

  • @chadphil it is a very "dirty" gas, yellow flame indicates it is "rich".

  • @fixitdude74

In general, good for the wallet, bad for the environment=)

  • @chadphil can you point me to any good gasifier for olive pomace?

  • @chadphil carbon monoxide and Hydrogen.. seems like some neat gasses to run an engine on. maybe the tar could be filtered out with a water bubbler?

  • extremely cool video. What is the gas? just wood smoke? I think the stutter is cute...detracts nothing from the communication

  • Great video thanks for posting. How would I be able to collect that for storage?

  • Comment removed

  • be nice how would you like it if you were mentally slow assholes!

  • @sergi148 hes not slow by no means

  • can some one kindly explain to me why you might not just burn the wood? what is the advantage to gasification?

  • @hailkingneptune haha what a dumbass. idk about you but it's hard to put logs into my car's gas tank.

  • @sergi148 Im sure that dumbass would last alot longer then you off the grid

  • @hailkingneptune you can run an engine with the gas, thus creating electricity. I don't think you can run a car stuffing pallets into your tank, althought that would be nice at gas prices these days. You could just drive into the woods and fill up your car :D

  • If you want to collect the gas (for example to power a multi-fuel cooking stove) could you attach a air hose to the top going into a weather balloon ?

  • wow this is really awesome thanks for the vid i cant wait 2 make one now

  • Yah if being pys or mental slow means your not smart...go tell Steven Hawkin hes retarted

  • @brucekirk89 lol

  • geat Vid!!!

  • gasification will come back when oil is so expensive that you and I can`t afford it anymore.

nice video have you heard of backyard grass clippings being turned into pellets and being used in gasifiers thing about it your gas bags instead of going into the trash they could heat your house in the winter

just pellet it and save it up until needed it will give them time to dry out (pellets) and you can heat your house for free.

or you could even run a genset get heat and electric for free

  • thats the best ive seen

  • i i i nee nee need to to to make make one of of of those int int interesting

  • So, basically this is another version of those controlled flaming units over land fills.

Waste management contractors are burning off the methane created by fermenting buried trash. Seems like they should be able to bottle that gas and reuse or sell it.

The oil companies are selling their gas byproducts, why cant the same principle be done at a land fill?

  • thanks for the video. Finally someone explained it in a simple way for people like me to understand! Can't wait to try it.

  • Thanks man, I just watched The Colony and it got me interested in wood gasifiers.
