This is typical, thuggery, common in many sub-skilled N/A's. It all started in the early 50's, when Russia beat Can. 7-2 in the Championship game. The following year, the War-Wick Bros. pulverized the Russians & others with this type of play & even worse.

Look at the play closely. He had his side to Hossa as he was skating. He was actually looking at the Islanders bench. I watched this about a dozen times because you're right, at one point this didn't look like an accident. Hossa is one of my favorite players in the NHL but that hit was accidental.
