It takes only one extra dimension to have an infinite amount of 3 space + 1 time dimension kind of entities. Like in a cube you could have an infinite amount of 2-dimensional squares. If there are 11 dimensions that haven't 'collapsed' in on themselves as some physicists claim, it means that what we see in the universe is just one page in a very thick book.

Given that the universe is homogeneous and isotropic, it follows that what can happen here can happen elsewhere in the universe. My suspicion is, is that intelligent life is so incredibly rare, in both space and time that the staggering distances between them create a natural quarantine, ensuring that they never meet before they become extinct. But this might not apply to artificially intelligent civilizations - which might last longer than biologically based civilizations.

We are just one group of ants on this ant hill we call earth. There could be many more ants out there just like us on their ant hills that were already picked on and studied or observed by these advanced alien civilizations. We were just not the lucky ones or unlucky ones who knows.
im with MK, your seem to be looking at it from a very biased position. why would a type 3 respect our music and sociaty any more than a mild interest.. how many humans care that ants farm green fly, does that make you want to communicate with ants, keep ants as pets or suggest in any way that you need to have ants in your life
i was ready to tear you a new one, but after listening, i guess you have a valid point. i personally believe that various extra terr. cultures HAVE contacted us and have been contacting us probably since the beginning, but i believe that much like NATO, there are intergalactic rules that are to be followed by all races who have the power TO contact us or similar civilizations to earth. everything and everyone needs rules, even physics itself. lol
If the stories are true that there are some aleins that are working with the government, I'd dare say that they are not a not a significant entity in their place of origin, and possibly an artificial creature made to slave in certain endeavors. Should they crash on earth and are given a way to maintain their life; their ability to validly express the principles and information about their origin may be severly limited.
If we note the notion of Star Trek called the 'Prime Directive' then perhaps any such entities have contacted us as much as is possible. Then there are those that may be 'bad children' dodging their Mother (ship) that have gotten themselves addicted to drugs or the likes that are pulling stuff they shouldn't.
You greatly overvalue humanity. All of the "great" things you mentioned (love, dogs and music) don't make us interesting to an extremely advanced civilization. If their technology is such that they can actually make it here to visit us, I doubt they would care about the things we find important.
im human and even i say the large majority of humanity are back stabbing dogs, we are a young and power hungry civilisation that persists on gaining control everything and everyone.
lol you sound desperate? yeah sure they might be interested in us. But would they make direct contact? How do you communicate with ants? Would they even realize you are communicating with them? Would they recognize you as a human (alien) being?
But sure they would be observing us right now if they know were we are.
Yeah they will contact us for our music, did you aver tought about that they couldn't hear ? Or that would be on a whole different frequency like bats ? Of course you didn't because you don't know how our society works, what big impact can have small things like language (time of the verbs, general composition of sentences, etc) upon our perception of other things. WE live in a balance, they do not want to disturb this ballance because things that seem logic to us may be "WTF" for them.
This is the point, dear Margarita. They already scanned everything about us.What happens is that we don´t recognize when they are observing us.It is like a lab, where biologists observe ants and the ants are unaware about it.That is what Kaku was saying:They avoid direct contact because, like ants and humans,we have no commonalities in our communications ,and it makes it very difficult for a direct talk.It becomes pointless.
Ants are fascinating, especially for biologists,But imagine how many ants were already studied, years ago. What Michio Kaku says is that we are no interesting for a dayly chat...we were contacted thousand of years ago,as many cultural and archaeological evidences indicate.Yesterday I posted a comment, respectful about my experiences with alien life entities, but I cannot find it here...I am sorry.
It may be interesting to observe ants and other creatures of limited intelligence, but it would not be worthwhile to initiate contact... It would be very difficult to explain to a limited mind that the world they perceive to be true is actually not entirely true. Limited intelligence is ignorant by nature. What would limited intelligence offer superior intelligence in terms of knowledge and understanding... nothing... So, it is possible that we are being observed, but contact wont happen soon...
Sorry Margarita, I know you are smart but you have not completely thought through what you say. Indeed we are interesting. this does not mean it is okay to contact us. if there was but 1 rule in the galaxy between species it would be that, to use this classification, a type 0 civilisation must become type a 1 before contacting unless, like us, they destroy themselves first. in which case, and this is the case with us humans, they will try a last ditch effort to make us realise our galactic value

I think what Michio Kaku meant with the ant analogy wasn't that we aren't interesting, but it would be incredibly difficult to communicate with us so they don't bother. Your statement "even if alien exists, they are so far to contact us' is very lame. You are not thinking outside the box. There are millions of years advanced intelligence being out there. You really really are confused. Reading books is not going to help, little meditation and fusion of thoughts among group will help you.And look for some proofs out there, there are plenty. kaku knows aliens are here, it'll be a career suicide to publicly declare it. He though admits future visit 2 b safeside.
Also, when someone says different dimension, it doesn't mean another universe. It's a whole other DIMENSION. Human being's can't visualise anything more than 3D. Length, breadth and height. And when you talk about Art and Music, you need to understand that they are just something relevant to human leisure. It's not any different to stones and sound for them. Heck, they might have a whole other frequency of hearing. So yeah, just understand that they might not be in a form that we recognize! :)
Music? Really? Carl Sagan? Kind and evil people? How would any of that interest an intelligent substance(note that I'm using substance and not being)? Is there any chance that your views are biased by your inner wish to meet aliens? The point that Michio Kaku makes is that these intelligent substances might be in a form that we don't recognize? Don't think from a human's point of view but from an ant's! Is there anyway that it can understand Quantum Mechanics? Nope.
All creature are just like child or robot they are to be guided but creature can be as heartless like robot just for the sake of survible many think this way they hide its purpose just as the forest hide its degerous wild animal just as the sea hides water stream and other wild flesh eating creature just as the soil hides dangerous micro-bacteria etc.
I have to agree with you here. If an ant could talk, I think we would all listen.
Humans are the first animals to learn how to use language. The second smartest animal, next to humans, can learn a language of but a few words, yet humans can learn literally thousands.
I would love to know what an ant has to say about its life.
I understand your points and agree. I can guarantee that if scientists on Earth discover a planet full of an insect-life such as ants, they would spend billions exploring it. Its also nice to see a well read and intellectual young lady.
Ya know... I never thought about this point till now. I am believer but always sat on the fence about weather they are truly visiting and/or making themselves known. I'm not going to go into the specifics but I'll say I've have an experience and done a lot of homework. I got nothing but the utmost respect for MK and took his argument as very valid till now. You're right, we as humans have the animal planet, other tv programs, books, etc all about other species... It fascinates us, why not them?
Ants could never understand OUR language even if we tried to teach them, so that we could communicate. It is not too far-fetched to think that WE couldn't understand an Alien language even if they tried to teach us. So, if they are more advanced than we (no reason they shouldn't be), they would know we are too primitive and would not waste their time. Of course, there would be other less advanced aliens, maybe those could visit... and maybe they already have.
@Cyb3rHyp3r Point is, we should not be so arrogant as to say, ALIENS MUST VISIT US. We are the creme of the creme and for that reason they have to let us know about them...
@MargaritaShamrakov lol you put out a very desirable question which would fascinate others, after watching, I just shook my head and said WTH lol, from what I think and heard off which I think is the most natural answer is that, intelligence is intelligence you get smarter every day, every year and every generation, you cannot be smarter than another intelligent species because your both smart, one on another has just existed longer, so kaku is right in a way but remember he's just predicting.
Michio Kaku said if an alien civilization is a million years ahead of us, they KNOW about us and knew for thousands of years like we know theres an anthill in the woods. We just dont gather an international community and start to create a diplomacy and economics with them because they just wont get us.
They exist, they are passing by, and they are not interested in us, every now and than some "drunk alien" (by their standards) lands on earth and that is called close encounters..sad but true 100%..
So keep your fingers crossed for more drunk aliens with party on their minds..It's our only chance to make something out of it...:)
I agree. I think we have a lot more to offer aliens then ants have to offer us on the lines of interest. Exp. We can't communicate with ants because they can't comprehend the simplest of human speech. Unless an aliens brain has evolved to a point of comprehension that we don't know yet, I think we would be very interesting. A monkey can't learn geometry, its brain can't comprehend it. Maybe aliens understand things that we don't and if they were to teach is, it would be like teaching a dog math.

Amidst all this "witty" commentary from viewers, has anyone noticed the particular types of books Miss Shamrakov is actually reading? Feynman was one of the most interesting people from the 20th century. The books she named are not Cosmopolitan or Maxim; they definitely take more than hormones to ingest.
You are a terrible speaker, you don't use the right words, and worse of all, you don't get your points across. Lastly, this is probably besides the point, you look freakishly scary. Ghost!
@smoothjazzvideos your a dick, one of the biggest reasons for youtube is to post videos like this. she may not be the best speaker in the world, but she raises a valid argument and if you could open your mind a little bit you would understand that. Your like a little kid in sex ed. You hear the word penis and you start gigging and learn nothing
@smoothjazzvideos@EODsplosion A dick? LOL, you must be so sexually frustrated you come here and vent off. I learn more in a day than you could ever learn in your lifetime, why? Well if you keep watching her videos of her talking nonsense on aliens and thinks she knows more than someone as great as Michio Kaku, then you'll learn nothing. Besides, you probably look as scary as her, if not more. Bugger off now.
Margarita he's a puplic figure, he would sign thousands of autographs, once in a while he would get really tired of all the ppl trying to talk to him, maybe you meet him when he was in a bad mood
It is an interesting debate and not any way I am saying I know more than Michio Kaku.
I like Stephen Hawking's and Carl Sagan's views, and the way they are more sensitive to the world and humanity and that they both more poetic and compassionate.
Or Maybe I am just a lil annoyed at MK, I have met him on the subway in NYC, and I told him I was a big fan, I gave him my CD, and he did not want to talk to me at all. He looked me like I was an ant:)
Next time you're outside, find an anthill, kneel down, and explain to the ants how to tie a shoe. When you've succeeded in teaching them how to do that, or even succeeded in getting them to grasp the concept of what a shoe is or even what you are, then get back to me and we'll continue this debate.
@itsMinuteMaid are you saying that if aliens took a earth student in a foreign exchange program and tutored the student in a subject unknown to us, the student would be completely unable to comprehend the subject. Kind of like you trying to tutor a in monkey geometry.
@EODsplosion The comparison was made between ants and humans by Michio Kaku. That is what she is contesting. So, if there is some alien species that is as much more intelligent than us than we are to ants, then those aliens would perhaps not be able to relay their technologies to use like we cannot relay our technologies to ants. We just would not understand even their simplest of technologies, like ants would not understand ours. Like tying a shoe. Or, even what a shoe is.
@itsMinuteMaid Damn, that would be some crazy ass technology to not be able to comprehend it. I still think there is a differences between understanding something and being able to comprehend it. I don't understand exactly how a laser works but I'm sure I can comprehend it and could learn it if I put forth effort. I just don't think that there are things in the universe that we can't comprehend. I know we don't understand everything, but I don't think our brains need to evolve to understand.
@EODsplosion That is another point that Mr. Kaku makes, and that humans are very arrogant. With our main religions in the world (Christianity and Islam), people believe that humans are the most important species in the entire Universe. That humans are God's most important creation. Same with you here suggesting that there is no knowledge in the entire Universe that is incomprehensible to humans. It is shameful arrogance and in part holds us back as a species.
@itsMinuteMaid I do think that we (as a species) understand the universe but I do think we can comprehend it. And thats not whats holding us back. Its the fact that people think we can't understand it. If I think the incomprehensible is comprehensible then I will at least try to strive for the answers of the universe. Its the highly religious people how don't try to comprehend the comprehensible and you sir are arguing that the universe is not comprehensible.
music..well we are back to the same point, why do you think they would like our music? they can be sensitive to lower waves of sound or higher ones, they could even feel our music, our own way of speaking like we feel nails scratching a blackboard, try to think more outside the box, wich is our human perspective.
@Dekasheran I think music has a universal language in it! And yes it could be that high frequencies scratch ears, but I believe that we can communicate through art and music.
@MargaritaShamrakov actually you would have to think about the consequences that would come with meeting a more advance intelligent civilization take the native americans and the american settlers. the brought diseases to the native american people just by being around from a different continent on the same planet so just imagine what an alien from a different planet or galaxy might bring. thats just one example
Maybe they are learnning about us, but without us knowing about it... I mean from time to time people do claim they have seen things in the sky that just vanished in a split of a sec. Perhaps that was them watching us, and realizing "Oh shit ! Swicth the invisible shield back on!" etc
Hi Margarita, we look ants cause ants didn't go through things that humans did, but aliens that we are talking about are much smarter then we- so they certainly made minimum the SAME progress as we do. And they don't need to come and say hi! They just have to watch us and that was point, i believe, of Dr. Michio Kaku - We are not interesting for them to come physically here on Earth...but that doesn't mean that they don't watch us ( for some little time i believe) through some telescope ;)
I seem to find it wierd, because YOU think that aliens are interested in ant level form of intelligence. You said that ants are interesting and yet you dont go to them, try to communicate with them and offer your technology. Aliens will probably have done any kind of research possible, so us humans would just be a similar glimpse into theyre own past. Other dimensions is also just a theory, It has to be proven first.
All creatures on earth are related to eachother through their dna.
But only very few species are able to communicate outside their kind.
It is therefor almost unthinkable for me that humans will be able to understand unrelated aliens. Looking at preconceptions of communicating aliens, they usually do include an audible voice. So even if they happen to live in an atmosphere which enables them to make sounds, nothing says they would be anything like humans sounds.Maybe the sing like whales do :)
I think you are sort of right. but you are viewing the situation from a human perspective. If there is indeed alien life somewhere in the galaxy, and these beings were able to travel billions of lightyears, it seems unlikely they will be interested in our technology.
Not to mention that these being might manifest themself in any number of ways. Thus even if they are 'social' aliens seeking contact, it will be unlikely we will ever understand them, partially or fully.
i'm not saying that michio is absolutely correct, but you have to consider some aspects:
1.You suppose that they think like us, feel like us, wich in my opinion in wrong
2.They could indeed have already been visiting us for long time, to study us or to see if we are ready
3.technological and social contamination could be the highest risk, just think what will hapen if a military power got their hands on advanced technology or how would religious estremist act, our world is not ready yet
Any intelligent species would definitely know that We Humans are at least technologically advanced beyond rocks and sticks, and that would be important enough for contact. Although I definitely do think that They would want to keep their distance until Humans stop all of the wars and stupidity, because They'd just be more intelligent beings to argue with and fear, and kill. It would be like that SciFi TV show "Babylon 5" where every one's technologically advanced, but still warlike.
come on if we ever pass what we are now and travel to the star. do you really want to make contact with people like us at this time we are dangerous. you people are idiots.

Humans are the first animals to learn how to use language. The second smartest animal, next to humans, can learn a language of but a few words, yet humans can learn literally thousands.
I would love to know what an ant has to say about its life.
BruceNJeffAreMyFlies 4 months ago

Rezinunts 4 months ago
Ants could never understand OUR language even if we tried to teach them, so that we could communicate. It is not too far-fetched to think that WE couldn't understand an Alien language even if they tried to teach us. So, if they are more advanced than we (no reason they shouldn't be), they would know we are too primitive and would not waste their time. Of course, there would be other less advanced aliens, maybe those could visit... and maybe they already have.
Cyb3rHyp3r 4 months ago
@Cyb3rHyp3r Point is, we should not be so arrogant as to say, ALIENS MUST VISIT US. We are the creme of the creme and for that reason they have to let us know about them...
Cyb3rHyp3r 4 months ago
I disagree with you. Of course they might study us but will not attempt any communication.

TheOnlyMiclann 5 months ago
Michio Kaku said if an alien civilization is a million years ahead of us, they KNOW about us and knew for thousands of years like we know theres an anthill in the woods. We just dont gather an international community and start to create a diplomacy and economics with them because they just wont get us.

It's hard to face the truth..
They exist, they are passing by, and they are not interested in us, every now and than some "drunk alien" (by their standards) lands on earth and that is called close encounters..sad but true 100%..
So keep your fingers crossed for more drunk aliens with party on their minds..It's our only chance to make something out of it...:)
now go back to your ordinary life:))

Also, IMO, Jesus on this earth could be the savior for all planets... therefore we could very well be more interesting than ants.
CamHatch311 5 months ago
I like your different take on things for sure. However if they are far away, yet more advanced than us, then they could get here.

Ghost!
smoothjazzvideos 5 months ago
@smoothjazzvideos your a dick, one of the biggest reasons for youtube is to post videos like this. she may not be the best speaker in the world, but she raises a valid argument and if you could open your mind a little bit you would understand that. Your like a little kid in sex ed. You hear the word penis and you start gigging and learn nothing
EODsplosion 5 months ago
@smoothjazzvideos @EODsplosion A dick? LOL, you must be so sexually frustrated you come here and vent off. I learn more in a day than you could ever learn in your lifetime, why? Well if you keep watching her videos of her talking nonsense on aliens and thinks she knows more than someone as great as Michio Kaku, then you'll learn nothing. Besides, you probably look as scary as her, if not more. Bugger off now.

I have a challenge for you:
Next time you're outside, find an anthill, kneel down, and explain to the ants how to tie a shoe. When you've succeeded in teaching them how to do that, or even succeeded in getting them to grasp the concept of what a shoe is or even what you are, then get back to me and we'll continue this debate.
itsMinuteMaid 5 months ago
@itsMinuteMaid are you saying that if aliens took a earth student in a foreign exchange program and tutored the student in a subject unknown to us, the student would be completely unable to comprehend the subject. Kind of like you trying to tutor a in monkey geometry.
EODsplosion 5 months ago
@EODsplosion The comparison was made between ants and humans by Michio Kaku. That is what she is contesting. So, if there is some alien species that is as much more intelligent than us than we are to ants, then those aliens would perhaps not be able to relay their technologies to use like we cannot relay our technologies to ants. We just would not understand even their simplest of technologies, like ants would not understand ours. Like tying a shoe. Or, even what a shoe is.
itsMinuteMaid 5 months ago
@itsMinuteMaid Damn, that would be some crazy ass technology to not be able to comprehend it. I still think there is a differences between understanding something and being able to comprehend it. I don't understand exactly how a laser works but I'm sure I can comprehend it and could learn it if I put forth effort. I just don't think that there are things in the universe that we can't comprehend. I know we don't understand everything, but I don't think our brains need to evolve to understand.
EODsplosion 5 months ago
@EODsplosion That is another point that Mr. Kaku makes, and that humans are very arrogant. With our main religions in the world (Christianity and Islam), people believe that humans are the most important species in the entire Universe. That humans are God's most important creation. Same with you here suggesting that there is no knowledge in the entire Universe that is incomprehensible to humans. It is shameful arrogance and in part holds us back as a species.
itsMinuteMaid 5 months ago

Dekasheran 5 months ago
@Dekasheran I think music has a universal language in it! And yes it could be that high frequencies scratch ears, but I believe that we can communicate through art and music.
MargaritaShamrakov 5 months ago
Would you go 20 light years away just for the music ? :) it is not practical and our music can be heard but no one is that near :)

Wow, maybe you are all right and I am thinking like human!
But what about amazing music we have?
very interesting comments form everyone thank you!
MargaritaShamrakov 5 months ago
@MargaritaShamrakov actually you would have to think about the consequences that would come with meeting a more advance intelligent civilization take the native americans and the american settlers. the brought diseases to the native american people just by being around from a different continent on the same planet so just imagine what an alien from a different planet or galaxy might bring. thats just one example

Maybe they are learnning about us, but without us knowing about it... I mean from time to time people do claim they have seen things in the sky that just vanished in a split of a sec. Perhaps that was them watching us, and realizing "Oh shit ! Swicth the invisible shield back on!" etc
jaxowarka 5 months ago
Hi Margarita, we look ants cause ants didn't go through things that humans did, but aliens that we are talking about are much smarter then we- so they certainly made minimum the SAME progress as we do. And they don't need to come and say hi! They just have to watch us and that was point, i believe, of Dr. Michio Kaku - We are not interesting for them to come physically here on Earth...but that doesn't mean that they don't watch us ( for some little time i believe) through some telescope ;)
jovanbilic 5 months ago
I seem to find it wierd, because YOU think that aliens are interested in ant level form of intelligence. You said that ants are interesting and yet you dont go to them, try to communicate with them and offer your technology. Aliens will probably have done any kind of research possible, so us humans would just be a similar glimpse into theyre own past. Other dimensions is also just a theory, It has to be proven first.
zukodude487987 5 months ago
All creatures on earth are related to eachother through their dna.
But only very few species are able to communicate outside their kind.
It is therefor almost unthinkable for me that humans will be able to understand unrelated aliens. Looking at preconceptions of communicating aliens, they usually do include an audible voice. So even if they happen to live in an atmosphere which enables them to make sounds, nothing says they would be anything like humans sounds.Maybe the sing like whales do :)
SilveradoNL 5 months ago
I think you are sort of right. but you are viewing the situation from a human perspective. If there is indeed alien life somewhere in the galaxy, and these beings were able to travel billions of lightyears, it seems unlikely they will be interested in our technology.
Not to mention that these being might manifest themself in any number of ways. Thus even if they are 'social' aliens seeking contact, it will be unlikely we will ever understand them, partially or fully.
SilveradoNL 5 months ago
i'm not saying that michio is absolutely correct, but you have to consider some aspects:
1.You suppose that they think like us, feel like us, wich in my opinion in wrong
2.They could indeed have already been visiting us for long time, to study us or to see if we are ready
3.technological and social contamination could be the highest risk, just think what will hapen if a military power got their hands on advanced technology or how would religious estremist act, our world is not ready yet
Dekasheran 5 months ago
Any intelligent species would definitely know that We Humans are at least technologically advanced beyond rocks and sticks, and that would be important enough for contact. Although I definitely do think that They would want to keep their distance until Humans stop all of the wars and stupidity, because They'd just be more intelligent beings to argue with and fear, and kill. It would be like that SciFi TV show "Babylon 5" where every one's technologically advanced, but still warlike.
