  • so u get a free play but instead u decide to get your quarterback killed?

thats not discipline its just laziness and stupidity.

  • i wonder how much of a time delay there is when there is audible?

  • next time PAUSE the game before you leave

  • way to get your quarterback killed.

  • that is the dumbest fucking thing every to tell players to do...yeah it may be funny, but that coach won't be laughing when the QB gets wrecked and gets injured because no one was there to block for him...

  • Fuck. Wait let me go get new batteries for my controller -_-

  • The first time I saw this in person, I literately wiped my eyes and had no idea what the hell was happing. unfortunately for me, no team has dared to jump the ball at Doak Campbell since :(

  • This looks like my O-Line when I'm trying to run the ball..

  • This is stupid though. I understand they're trying to avoid getting called for false start, but once the QB is moving there's no benefit to the OL standing still. You're just forfeiting the opportunity to go deep down the field for a free play AND endangering your QB who the defense now has a free shot at.

  • Damn lag!

  • it make look stupid. but it surly works.

  • That discipline's gonna pay off for KC in the form of Rodney Hudson.

    GO CHIEFS!!!!

  • theyre mindless

  • @wippudaeu oh those donuts

  • way way to funny it be nice if the UNIVERSITY OF NEVADA RENO. football team try this along with our famous pistol formation haha coach chris ault would be wow im confused. LMFAO

  • It would of been funny if the quaterback got sack

  • Looks like his controller died

  • Now that's how we show discipline! GO NOLES!!!!!!!! SEMINOLES 4 LYFE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • All fun and games until the quarterback breaks his neck.

  • It looks dumb, but it can really throw off the secondary. If 1 of the d-ends doesn't come hard, you can have a really good shot at hitting a receiver deep because the safeties are reading the offensive linemen and will be a step or two behind.

  • Is this really serious LOL

  • ugh stupid lag

  • To everyone who thinks this is unnecessary- the refs would have NEVER thrown that late flag had the offensive line moved. So it is not a free play dumb-shits.

  • Nice o-line

  • @JacobAlexTaylor How is fucking soccer a sport? Kicking around balls into goals. That's for pussys

  • @GuyInGhillieSuit 90 minutes running back and forth? i play football and football is pretty easy sport dik wad i bet u dnt even play a sport u eat KFC ALL DAY!

  • @TheDustinGreen You obviously don't play football or you don't get played if you even do play because it's not easy.

  • @GuyInGhillieSuit Im a starter SS Im a Ss PR KR anything else for u? KILLiMuNTY PEACE NIGGA SMH

  • @GuyInGhillieSuit Soccer is the most popular sport in the world. Football is centered mainly in USA. Also, how the hell is kicking soccer balls into goals for "pussys"? In football you run with an egg shaped ball towards an end zone. You ,sir, a fucking idiot.

  • @moneyguy210 Why?? Because soccer is not a full contact sport.

  • @GuyInGhillieSuit what the hell does contact have to do if it's a good sport or not. Sure it's "entertaining" to see an injury.

  • how does the center nt move after he snaps the ball??

  • damn good discipline there

  • maybe it could be a tactic to gove the linemen a little bit of rest time so if it is a false start or offside then they dont waste that energy for nothing

  • i don't watch football, so i don't get it. someone enlighten me.

  • i wonder what the disipline is if you move? hahaa

  • the reason why they do this is to take away from the potential for the refs to fuck up and call a false start instead of offsides or encroachment. i still think if dumb as shit but whatever floats their boat i guess....

  • how stupid! this is a free play, you can take a shot downfield. and you have to take care of your QB, they should fire this guy

  • Ummm...it worked???????????????

  • oh damn. that's smart.

  • I love how they still get yards even though no one was blocked lol

  • it is impressive.

  • "What? Free play? Fuck no. I'm not working harder then I'm supposed to.."

  • lol so that other guy got the wrong playcallthats were auburn got this from

  • discipline people...not that hard to wrap your head around. the QB shouldnt have run the play

  • i dont get why they do this.

  • @ebront look at the description

  • @ebront its a form of discipline. if there is an offside they will not move. which will give them free 5 yards usually works all the time.

  • The dumbest part is that it's a free play where they can give their QB some time to try a deep play with no repercussions.

  • maybe this look stupid because they dont protect their qb, but the d lines will be ashamed for that offside trust me lol

  • I would take a breather to if I was only in the 2nd quarter and had to go strong the fourth quarter

  • im a gator fan, but goddamn that's impressive

  • What discipline is this? Let your quarterback get fuckin smacked up? Former marine coach is a moron. FSU is terrible... this doesn't show shit, but it does show stupidity.

  • its called discipline.

  • Marine coach = Retard

It doesn't matter if they move its still offsides

  • @entehrend Its too make sure they dont jump

  • This is a great way to kill your quarterback

  • @UFfan85

Actually I'd argue he's less likely to get killed on a play like this than on a normal play where he's standing in the pocket.

  • Rick Trickett is the man! GO NOLES!!!!

  • can you imagine a drill sergant teaching marines in bootcamp this.. "you see a someone shoot at you dont fuckin stand the fuck there and hope he runs out of bullents son"

  • Be as the frog in the pond....

  • If you know the gamertag of Trooper816 give him a friend request or just say also Trooper816 is writing this message so i guess i dont know what to say and i like potatoes

  • when that happens they should just throw it downfield and see if someone catches it, either waay they get yards.

  • god you guys are retarded... they dont move cause it was a offside flag...

  • Haha I saw that game and I no idea what was going on...

  • that's a sad way to get yards.

  • @ZachaferK How is it sad? If the D line is jumping offsides they should get the yards, you're an idiot.

  • this is a pussy way to play football. Not gonna win championships playing for freebie yards. Damn, they just trying to convince the ref by standing there. Wtf, this isn't basetball, play the game!

  • @bfess Please go back to playin your NCAA11 video game little guy.

  • dude it was clear that the defense was offsides!

  • Alot of you don't know what your talking about. I go to a DII college. We run an offense like FSU. You have different cadence and tempo. On for us is called Alaska. i.e Freeze tempo. Hard count the D when the D reacts you make the call. If they jump the WR's will run a pre designated route combination. Usually short routes the OLine WILL NOT MOVE UNTIL THE QB GIVES THE RELAX CALL. you see the qb run over there and give his oline the call.

  • TJ Yates' stupid ass blew our game. put Renner in the game, at least he'll have a chance of throwing more touchdowns than INT's

  • they died

  • you can see that there losing 3 to 17. nice tactics (sarcasm)

  • @qrc3 Check the final score of the game chode.......and what community college did YOU graduate from...OH thats right it's the internet, quick, type Harvard, fag.

  • i dont get it. what's the harm in moving u going to get the offside anyway

  • @tjohn1986 thats true. i mean the ref sees it and hes gonna give u the call. u might as well protect ur quarterback in the meantime.

  • @tjohn1986 thats true. i mean the ref sees it and hes gonna give u the call. u might as well protect ur quarterback in the meantime.

  • Agreed docplux, one day this is gonna get ugly for somebody.

  • sry i dont understand if they move does the other team not get the offside flag called?

  • Football is better!

  • christan ponder 4 hiesman

  • Yeah yeah, great discipline. Notice the score on top though.

  • @cantstopgamer Who won the game though. Thats all that matters.

  • @cantstopgamer

    And notice the final score FSU-30 W... UNC-27 L

  • @cantstopgamer Hey, notice who made a comeback and fucked you sorry tar heels up

  • @jared0321 UNC ALL Day! Fla. St. Aint shit, they aint neva gonna be shit and they daddy aint SHIT! lol

  • @bammbamm214

your fuckin stupid. has unc ever won a championship? have they ever had a heisman winner? no. if fsu wasnt shit why did we make a comeback on y'all's sorry asses? hmm??

  • @cantstopgamer yea who won the game

  • @cantstopgamer 98 yard td pass?

  • @cantstopgamer

yeah but fsu cameback and won it lol

  • ha they call that a discipline :D

  • I don't give a crap if the defense moves, if there is no whistle the play still goes on and the QB can still get hit and possibly hurt. At least protect the QB.

  • This doesnt do anything wtf

  • The reason they dont move is because the snap count changes when the defense jumps. Before the play there is a known snap count, however as soon as the defender jumps the center snaps the ball (even if its before the snap count has been reached). The QB, RB, and WRs (who watch the ball and dont move on snap count) respond as normal. The line stays in place to avoid false start, and as previously mentioned to make the offsides more noticeable. We rarely have false starts.

  • If I was Christian Ponder, I'd be pretty pissed off with this "discipline".

  • That's what I'm saying - especially if the refs DONT call the offsides it could make for a really easy play for the defense - could be a HUGE hit on the quarterback or stripping the ball for a fumble etc. Seems like a gamble to me. Better to be safe than sorry.

  • I like it!

  • If they teach this in the Marines, we all will be dead in no time.

  • Who got the best out of the play? oh wait - I think it was the team coached by the Marine.

  • well the marines are very different from football

  • @vouchvideo as a Marine....i say FUCK YOU

  • and thats supposed to be a good thing? are u freakin kidding me?

  • have you ever played football kid?

  • Well, I bet that LATE flag wouldn't have come if the line moved. Them not moving made it obvious that the offense jumped offsides. So don't talk shit about what you don't know. You obviously never played football u nerd.

  • They'll quit doing that the first time the defense runs past them and injures their quarterback.

  • Ok since some people are slow ill explain.

The referee's didn't call it until they saw that the defense was offsides which was not 100%. and if they scored on that play they still get the points if they choose to not take the penelty... This is a smart move plus it looks awesome

  • No, Well Florida State Will lose lot/strike thank hope u enjoy.

  • Very clever indeed.

  • thats insane. but awesome!!!!

  • That's clever.

  • This is a stupid idea because what if you could have scored on that play.

  • u could score on the next play too

  • they look like they're taking a crap during the play

  • why arent they moving?

  • hmm.. so what happens when the offensive lineman "feel" an offside by the defense, the QB gets sacked, they lose 15 yards, and the refs don't call an offside on the defense?

  • @Kiiingk

What happens when the QB just gets his ass kicked and gets injured?

  • Comment removed

  • do i see you a coach of a university football team?? uh nope.

  • The defensive coordinators who know FSU is going to do this usually put many guys up close on the line for a blitz, allowing an FSU WR to get open for a big play. It's been done a few times.

  • They have to wait for the ball to be snapped. If the

defense moves before the ball is snapped and the O-line does too its a false start on the O. However, after the ball is snapped they should move. I think they dont want to take any chances with a false start.

  • @nailbiter5445: If the defense jumps offsides before the ball is snapped and that causes offensive line to move its an encroachment penalty on the defense. Now encroachment kills the play so you dont get the "free play" you get with an offsides but its not false start.

  • yeah and that's exactly why they sit there- to ensure that they get the free play

everyone else is failing to realize this

  • yeah but once the ball is snapped they should move. At that point they already have the free play, and now they are just refusing to block, which is hurting them, during the free play. Once again its not there fault, they are doing what they are taught to do and doing it well. The coaches should really rethink this however as they are costing theirselves some oppurtunities.

  • You are 100% correct.. I dont understand this move, why not block. I cant see the advantages..

  • it shows the refs the other team went on side. notice the ref did the flag late

  • Why in the world would you coach that? You have a chance for a free play, for goodness sake. Take a shot down the field or something...

  • the coach obviously knows more than you and knows what he is doing and probably has more reasons so stop accusing what they do

  • I'm sure he has his reasons, but there's a reason most coaches don't do that...

  • most coaches don't do it but they probably don't see any practicality in the discipline it teaches. on the next play the offensive linemen will probably have a slight advantage..seeing as how they get an extra few seconds of rest.

  • why they were in hold position?

i don't know very well this sport

  • its all fun and games until your quarterback gets a spinal cord injury.

  • @docplux ponder didn't even get tackled in this play

  • It's just tradition for them not to move if they jump off sides. If the linebacker or somebody else decided to come in and hammer the QB then that's a fucking cheap shot. Why worry about cheap shots. That's the last thing u should worry about in a foot ball game.

  • @Gforcebond For a linebacker to sack the QB is a cheap shot? Why on earth is that?

  • this is why florida state will never return to national prominence as long as boneheads like that are coaching.

  • haha if i were the other team i go and barrel into the guys legs to head on give them something to think about

  • no.

  • In retrospect, yeah its good 4 principle but wats keeping your quaterback from being lit up by the defense line. Your not protecting your quaterback & there nothing 2 keep a 250+ pound linebacker from tackling him at 20 miles an hour.

  • Wasting a free play, for what? Discipline it may be, stupid it certainly is.

  • that is just awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm not a noles fan, but I am a football fan. They werent trying to prove that they were disciplined. They are showing the ref's that it was not a false start on the offense because they didnt move. It takes incredible awareness and football sense. Its great coaching and great execution. And did the QB get hurt? nope. nothing happened because the QB can recognize it, get out of the pocket fast and throw the ball away, easy first down, smart.

  • They wasted a free play, far from being smart...they should have paused for 1/2 a second then blocked, and then try throwing the ball deeper down field...plus thats pretty risky for the o-line, what if a linebacker blitz's and injures of them?...i guess his lineman are'nt very irreplacable, atleast i would hope not if hes risking them to serious injury.

  • @mbhsfb06 its retarded, even if it was to make sure they dont mistake it for a false start, you should move once the play gets going to make sure you get the free play downfield. Best case scenario: you made sure to get the offsides, which is very rarely mistaken for a false start. But gave away a chance for a free play down the field, and increasing chance of QB injury.

Lose the oppurtunity for a 70yrd TD for the guarantee of 5 yards, that you would have gotten anyway = dumb

  • goat

  • wow you people think thats stupid its not dumbass they gained yards and got a penatly soo now they get an easy first down it tricks the defence and sometime they can get a great play go noles

  • "wow you people" thank god for the excellence youve brought to this page. nols suck. ur face sucks. go CU

  • Garbage way to set up the line!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, I don't get this. If there is an unabated player coming at the quarterback, he will get rocked. If the line holds the blitzing player, it will not get called as it's a penalty that was caused by the other team. So in other words, they are pretty much giving up the free play and risking their QB.

  • they don't move so the officials get the call correct in calling it an off sides instead of them also moving and risking a false start penalty

  • But if they were to flinch, it'll be a neutral zone infraction on the defense not a false start on the offense.

  • @dbacksfan2 giving up a free shot downfield for 5 yards that you were going to get anyway isnt good coaching...

  • That doesn't make any damn sense if someone jumps off sides and you have a free play go for it. I mean that's great you have discipline but geez take a chance.

  • I find this useless, it shouldn't confuse the other team because the whistle stops the play, not players standing still. If I was the coach I would force a penalty to have my line rush and get a cheap hit off the QB. Also an offsides gives the team a chance to make a big play to decline the penalty.

@paul, it's the person who is offsides that raises there hands to show no interference in rugby, and if you don't, get a knock-on to try to get your team ready again. Listen to your coach better.

  • search youtube for

    LINEMAN FAIL

  • BEAST

  • What kirkba said. The "play/no play" is used in other ball sports. Had a rugby coach who told the backs, when we had the ball, and they thought there was an offside to put their hands on their heads and stand still. The forwards would re-cycle the ball and maul it out.

Guaranteed to pull a couple of penalties a match, AND it meant the other team was constantly conscious of not encroaching. Takes enormous discipline.

  • Wow...haha.

@motha...you've never played football, have you?

@inner...staying still means you have 30 more seconds of NOT being tired...and you're resting. I've been in countless games where we've won because we didnt jump around like idiots after a good play. Also never got a celebration penalty (they also look really stupid when we PWN them on the VERY next play). Our team was co-ed, too.

  • I don't like how they teach to stay still, basically you get a free play. Give the QB enough time to just launch the ball and see what happens. Make a play, after the encroachment it's a free play.

  • That takes a lot of ficipline and pracctice. Anyone who plays gets what I'm saying

  • OMG! That is a great way to draw attention to the defense and draw a flag!

  • but why do they do that??

  • 1. emphasizes to the refs that it wasn't us that moved.

2.emphasizes to your OL never to move til the QB calls for the snap, thereby reducing false starts.

    3. often confuses opposing defenses

  • OHH I GET IT NOW

  • it's an actual play

  • lol

  • They should try the exact same play but have the middle guy run out , that would leave a hole just big enough for the QB to run through and score a few yards before the momentarily confused opposing team figures out what's going on.

  • My university, the number 25 in the nation Central Michigan University practices this as well. It's not risk to the qb because its a free play and the qb understands that so he shouldn't try something that he knows will get him hurt!

  • Im a FSU fan and I go to most of their home games cause I only live 35 mins away.. but really... I think that it's just really funny lol..The coach know's more than you people.. He know's what he is doing. That's why he is a coach while you just watch and criticize and of course the players knows it's a free play especially the QB.. I'm sure they are making some changes that we don't know about. It can be for good or for bad but i think it's also a discipline for the OL to not False Start.

  • How has this not have been more publicized on Sportscenter and such?

  • No disrespect but there is discipline then there is common sense. Can't bring marine mentality to football. Even in the marines common sense is needed. Imagine a platton leader telling his men, "fire on my command!!" Then he gets popped without giving the command. Would you use discipline or common sense? LOL!!

  • dude... it's college football. you want marine discipline on your o-line. one false starts too many and you could lose the game. the only problem to this is if the QB doesn't get the ball away in time (which he always should do considering it is a free play) and gets creamed resulting in injury. let's use your "common sense" in football scenario. two count snap. QB says hike and the defender comes at you. common sense says to block so you do. false start. offense. 10 yard penalty. no discipline.

  • you can use tons of different scenarios.. using discipline in your scenario would make sense because you made it up.. now let's use the scenario in this video but change it a bit.. let's say a different DE/LB didn't realise the offsides call.. and he creams the unprotected QB.. INJURED!! next QB!!

all scenarios require differnt reactions.. hence common sense!! olinemen are humans too..

discipline is great but common sense is better
