is it better form then to be in a glass tank? cause my gerbels just had baby there about 10 days old but there in a tiny lil spot in the top of the cage witch is plastic and metal...is a tank better?
Basically, if they can't fall too far, it's quite sfe enough. The problem with plastic cages however is that they usually get chewed to pieces and then they might fall out. I wouldn't consider moving the litter into a new cage untill they are at least 3 weeks old though. Good luck
some gerbils (not these) chewed through the cage. on the outside theres a plank of mdf but because the cage has round shapes in the sides, they couldve stillc hewed on the wood. this was the easiest/fastest/cheapest/safest way of fixing it quickly ;].
gerbilariums suck in my opinion. the bars can potentially hurt their feet. for babys i usually prefer a duna ( a plastic cage which they cant chew on because there arent any openings ) because that way i can take them with my from my room the living room easier. but i also keep breeding pairs in aquariums. its a little bit about personal preference i suppose =].
Mum looked like she was right enjoyin herself, feedin her pups and then when she noticed you were filming her, she got all shocked and uptight! lols. :D:D:D:D
haha yeh lol. mums dont particularly like it when you steal their pups and they get them back all 'smelly' (smelling like human). Jackie in particular is very protective of her little babies :].
Why do they always scratch at their nose ? Any reason for that. They started doing that day 8 :P
