i totally agree and say yes to all of them!! i am a gay teen, just starting to come out, dont understand homophonia, dont understand y people do not like lgbtq teens and also do not approve with the three topics above, thanks for the video
1. I am a 19 y/o lesbian, its hard, I fear telling my grandparents, I could lack their acceptance, and my home.
2. Marriage doesn't concern me a lot, but the legalities do, the way we're viewed on forms can make a big difference, especially in the hospital, an lgbt person may have to die alone rather than with the person they love the most.
3. Adoption, this shouldn't even be a problem. There are so many kids out there that need love, lgbt parents should be the least of their worries.
1: I used to be one but now I am an adult. Is is kinda hard to be a gay teen in greece. But no matter what, I like that part of me.
2: I am for gay marriage. There is no reason why we should not have the right to be legally recognized with the people we love.
3: I am for gay adoption to. Because I beleive children need love and protection and a guide to grow up feeling ok with themselfs. And there is no reason why a gay/lesbian couple shouldn't be able to provide that.
1) Being an LGBT teen, naturally, I feel as though this is all that I have ever known and although it took some time for me to accept it and embrace it, it is who I am and it does not define me, but it is a part of my life.
2 & 3) I don't think that we should even be fighting about gay marriage or adoption. I think that it is a situation that takes a small amount of common sense. I mean, God forbid a family might want to give a child a loving and meaningful life and family experience?!
I agree with you. My friends who have been joined for a year have wanted to adopt and were going to from friends. they chose not to because of their age(they are only 20 and 21).
The couple they were goign to adopt from was a lesbian couple and one of the mothers had passed on and the other was going into drug rehab. The main reason that they could not adopt is the parents of the deceased mother said they either wanted a lesbian couple or no one but them to raise the child. It makes no sense
My partner & I are women. I don't think of myself as gay or bi, I just fell in love with a woman. There's nothing weird about us & we're "married" (we have an equivalent in the UK).
We're just starting the process to adopt one or two children. We have the same ambitions as many people: to be happy, build a home together, raise a family. Sometimes I forget we're viewed as different by society. Luckily we live in a fairly progressive country.
2. I think 2 consinting human beings of approprite age should be able to get married if they so desire.
3. A person who is capable both finacaily and emotionaly to support a child whether they are gay, stright, trans, bi, male, female, married or single should be able to adopt a child. Thats what I think, you don't have to like it or agree with it but its what I think.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Gay people should not adopt children. We do not need more gay people. Gay people are a stain on society. I would support another civil war before I would support gay adoption.
What about gay adoption bothers you? You seem to imply that gay people only raise gay children. Do straight people only raise straight children? Obviously not (because gay people had to come from somewhere).
If its because you feel a child should have a mother and a father, what about single parents or widows?
Averageteen - Teens have it hard, period, much less being gay. It's great that there are now groups that help people who are gay relate to other gay people. With regards to marriage, it's essential that gay people have the same rights as everyone heterosexual. And as far as gay adoption - adoption is about loving a child. I have a group of friends that are all gay that are raising a kid - it is phenomenal the love for that child. He is extremely well adjusted!
I do think its awesome to hear stories of people who have had success. I wish law makers would look at those people and see how wonderful the child is doing with a loving family then in some orphanage.
It really is a great situation. My friends live in Los Angeles. My best friend said that there are 40,000 children in foster care in LA County. It's hard to find that many homes! The kid is really great - very very happy. They are doing a great job.
Finally, gay adoption. It is great people are willing to sacrifice to raise a child. In my eyes, people's sexual orientation is not an issue with raising children.
LGBT teens exist. I'm certain it is a very hard road for them.
Gay marriage. There are a few reasons I can see for gay marriage. First, the financial benefits of tax and insurance. Second, the legal system allows for certain structures for marriage that is hard for LGBTs to obtain. Next, the religious idea that you must be married to someone to have sex with them. Lastly, it may provide an easier framework to change your name to show the unity. I support gay marriage, not civil unions.
I hate that they pick at her just because of it.You cannot help what you feel. You were created to have your own feelings and your own opinions but it doesnt mean you use your opinions to bash on people who dont like the opposite sex. Youd think that if god did really create us like they say he did then he would have created us to all feel the same way. But he didnt.
Can you site an official source stating this as fact? If 1/3 of child molesters are homosexual, then the other 2/3's are heterosexual...but they are all SICK & need to be locked up...Anyone who forces a child to do something sexual really needs help...And yes, I agree it is very sad.
I disagree. But people do need to be made aware that the homosexual orientation is normal for those who are...there is no recruitment mentality...at least with me. If you're straight, fine! Gay, whatever! But for those young people who are trying to figure out what their orientation is, there does need to be information. At least in the high schools...
homosexuality is wrong you know it i know it marrige is between a man and woman and children should not be adopted by gay people im just speaking sense i dont dislike gay people but its a practice i dont agree with
So a loving, caring gay family is worse than beating a child to death? You might want to edit your statement, because it makes you sound...like a moron pretty much.
My statement is that two loving parents is what children deserve. They dont deserve to sit in an orphanage in mass numbers because people see it wrong that two same sex loving people should care for that child. I never said anything about child abuse.
Why is it child abuse bouse23? A gay couple can provide the same loving home as any straight couple. The only thing that people need to look for when they're adopting is if they can provide the love, care, and support for the child. Which gender they are attracted to should not be one of them.
Bouse, child abuse? I grew up with two gay dads, and I certainly wasn't abused. On the contrary, I consider myself extremely blessed to have had two wonderful, caring, supportive parents. Why should it matter that they were two men rather than a man and a woman?
@rainbowheartgirl same! my moms are just normal parents, and ive never faced any abuse from my parents.. ive never really contemplated the fact that i have two moms, because to me and everyone i know its just normal! i get mad at my parents the same amount that any teenager with a mom and dad, and we have a whitepicket fence, an SUV, and a dog. theyre just normal.
We need to simply accept homosexuality. It isnt normal. So what? Being born with one leg isnt normal either but we dont discriminate against one-legged persons. In fact we go out of our way to help them. Discrimination against homosexuals is immoral, uncaring and just plain wrong. We should accept them as equals and they should have every right anyone else has.
Being a bisexual teen, I support gay marriage and adoption. To me, marriage is a right that EVERYONE should have, not just 'straight' people. As for adoption, I feel that anyone should be allowed to adopt, provided that they have a steady income and relationship. =/ I'm pretty lenient towards a lot of things.
Because marriage at least in my eyes is the choice to devote yourself to that person until DEATH do you part. In my life I know that I am going to marry my soul mate so I know I only need one man.
Your missing the point. The dictonary definition of marrige is "The sacred bond between a man and a woman" so if that definition has already been ruined in one way then why not in another way?
Whose to say the dictionary is the right thing. I personally believe something you need to go with your own definition. The definitin in which you define that word in your own thoughts and feelings not the way someoen else does or any book even the dictionary does.
Which dictionary has that definition? Why would having a polygamous or polyandrous relationships ruin the definition of marriage? According to Webster's New World Dictionary, another definition of marry mean "to unite".
Well, it does. I am compltly for gay marrige, and it sickens me that people accually think that they are doing the right thing denying people marrige simply because their the same sex. And i am for gay adoption as well. Families with two mothers/fathers, can raise just as functional as a family as any strait couple could. I have a pair of gay aunts, so i would know. Im glad you posted this, it gives me somthing to randomly rant about. =)
Im not gay, but being bisexual, basicly makes me "half-gay" if you think about it literally. Something that drives me insane is that so many people think that bisexuality doesnt exsist.
Well yes because a homosexual is someone who has sexual relationships with the same sex so if you have sexual relationships with the opisite sex it dosn't really change that title.
Same as even if you don't smoke 24/7 but do smoke once in a while your still a smoker.
Im bisexual. I go to a private school, and have, after very long thoughts about it, come out to a few of my closer friends, many of who do not talk about it EVER because everyone at that school is homophobic. I have to deal with everyday hearing kids bashing gay people.
(i have to post this reply in 2 or 3 coments, since its to long to fit)
I'm sorry that you have to deal with being a minority. I wish in school I had had more self-confidence to stand up for my viewpoints. People are mainly like sheep. They follow the flock. Some people don't know that they are harming anyone when they bash gays. If you come out, some will become more accepting. Others want to harm anyone they can and will use that against you.
well im gay and i love it of course i suport gay marrige and adoption and well just to tell ya the best thig i've done in my life has been coming out to everyone every thing is better then before
im a lesbian I pretend to be straight in front of my friends/family because they are extremely homophobic. How do you feel about the fear of coming out and saying who you are to people like that. Should it be done? or should it be kept a secret. Im just scared of being rejected thats why i havent said anything.
Im actually working on a senior project at school about the majority of homeless youth being lgbt. And one of the biggest factors is that they are scared of being rejected.
interesting questions! being gay I am biased of course, so I guess you know what my answers would be. Would be interesting to see other people's responses though! And also your own opinion. How do you feel about it?
