  • It will not work for me oh yeah i forgot to ask does the product not have be bought

  • >>>>This is one of the main resons why apple is better than android, this app is available on the app store and its pretty popular and more convenient...seriously i would recommend Iphones, with all respect to android owners...

  • @frappuccin0o oh course you would recommend an apple product. your user name is frappucino, you're probably one of those people who sits in starbucks with their macbook "working on their latest novel"

  • do you need data for barcode scanning?

  • @owningkid you need an application(i use "Barcode Scanner") which you can download from the android market.

  • Need 5 star ratings and positive comments on your app? Significantly increase your downloads using starmyapp(dot)com.

  • Good Android/Apple Iphone, way to make ID theft even easier!!

  • can i scan xbox 360 cards with this?

  • Wtf is with the other one from zebra xing that says the program will be able to go through your contacts and messages, go through your internet history, a few other things disconcerting when it comes to privacy. Just a ploy in terms of big brother, I believe in convenience but a lot of Android apps and I guess other make's apps are made in a way so you have to sign up to Google, who started wanting a cell # [house wont do] just to sign up recently. they need to calm down that shit, google too

  • That app doesn't work on Dutch barcodes >.>

  • WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

  • Amazing discovery, things get integrated...

  • He is trying to hide the wire behind it to show that its hes but EPIC FAIL

  • @Dedicatedcandy I admire your skepticism, but that wire tether cable is only to prevent theft because the phone is a demo display at a trade show. It's the same thing many banks use to prevent people from stealing pens. I assure you that barcode reader apps do not need a wire to work. I use a similar app with my Droid X to get coupons when I am grocery shopping. You just open the app and point the phone's camera at the barcode, the application does the rest.

  • stop talking with your hands dude

  • do you need internet ?

  • @Anton4223 yupp

  • More and more apps are using this technology, such as dieting apps that scan food items :-P This is one of my favorite features of the smart-phone (I'm guessing other smart-phones must do this too)

  • the guy is tapping the screen as if he'd make a hole in the phone.....lol

  • ((( Acquainted With Islam )))

  • android touch fails!

  • @movania89 Not as such. I have to agree with you that the video doesn't make it look good. My HTC Desire (FroYo), does not have any problems with that whatsoever. In fact, it reacts upon touching just a couple of pixels on the icons.

  • @swagzi , thanks i got that alot. I had no clue i had that many thumbs up lol. Thanks youtubers

  • Nice

  • only issue I have with shop savy is when you scan and search the results seem vary limited at this time. I'm hoping its due to not enough vendors, etc being on the network.

  • Here is my delema: Droid does not integrate with MS Outlook Calendars, contacts or tasks. But it has programming features like the bar code scanner. Windows integrates, but finding applications and DLLs is not easy as Windows mobile is slowly becoming extinct.

  • I've seen barcode scanner software on the Nokia E71 and others, but the quality is so poor it's hardly practical... this one looks half decent though.

  • This type of tech will end up killing our society. Soon there will only one supplier for each thing since no one will want to pay more. This results in mass aggregation of niches and further death of mom and pop enterprises. It is happening with Google shopping too....now google is telling you which e-commerce site has the best price including shipping. The best price gets the sale, the others be damned.

  • @itisYOUREnotYOUR Please, don't let my frugality stop you from paying more for the same products that can be found cheaper elsewhere.

I'm all about it. Capitalism has allowed us all to use nicer products for lower prices. No problem as far as I'm concerned.

  • when you have money to burn, you wouldn't be one of those who would care to use this app anyway. but then again, most people can't afford to throw money arround in this economy. hence, innovation of technology will exist to fufill the niche created by the need. therefore, there was first a need for this in society which CAUSED this technology to be created; not the other way around. but then again, perhaps an app that will search for mom and pops places specifically will be cool too :)

  • is this also on the new Wildfire or Legend??

  • new way... uhh? (even with this video being from 2008 that wasnt new)

  • Comment removed

  • @LeonardEmilian ....lol yea man its crazy to see how fast technology is developing. like now we have phones that can video chat lmao. But me, im udated with these technologies and use them all. Im 20 and am suprised to see all this i have, compared to my older brothers who had camera phones to brag about ;D

  • Nigga stole my smartphone

  • @VortexNL Your a prick...

  • cool

  • lmao i went to scan some milk and it gave me a fuckin book xD

  • @axlabe007 lol, they´ve probably tested the book in this vid before recording xD

  • does it use internet to find the price?

  • @zepass Yes it does

  • old hat

  • its stupid, the book is in front of you, why would u wanna find other places where u might buy it, just buy the fucking book, and get out of the store:)) kinda useless if u ask me

  • @dexcover99 what if u see something in ur friend's house and he doesn't remember where he got it

u can use ur phone to scan it

  • dunno man, could be...but in my town there are like 3 major book stores soo yeah, i would know :))

  • @dexcover99 lmfaoo so true. 'hey let's scan my book and see where I could buy a second one'

  • @dexcover99 Go to your friend house and saw a book to your liking you scan it and see where you can get it or maybe you can read some review about that book.Your Stupid, nothing is useless.

  • hi, does this require auto focus camera?

i think that's why these programs doesn't work on

my htc tattoo.. could that be it?

  • Damn this guy got a white voice..

  • i dunno about this...i work at wal mart and i guy came in there and was pissed cuz we sell TurboTax for $54.96 and his phone scanned it and it came out saying our store had it for $49.99..one thing that is also kinda weird about that too is all wal marts usually end at 96 cents no 99...he gave us so much shit...it seems cool but maybe not 100% right with its information

  • Look, the phone has a 3.7v 1150mAh battery, which comes out to 4.255 watt hours. If your phone lasted 4 hours, that means it's only using 1 watt at FULL POWER with all accessories on. That's pretty darn efficient. Yes, I suppose HTC could include a bigger battery, but they want it a reasonable size and still need room for the mainboard, flip-up keyboard, and touch screen. We need an improvement in battery technology.

  • just get a task killer...my droid went over 24 hrs without a charge over the weekend and it was still at 30%

  • damn wat it technology coming to these days. Thats like crazy. Next thing you know, we're gonna have phones that can eat

  • lol!

  • @alizin2008 this is really cool tech, but those of you who may not be aware these are just applications of technology we had back in the 90s and during the peak of the dot-com boom. for example: Cue Cat Anyone?..

  • @alizin2008 Why would they eat? They can use energy in a more efficient way, from the sun, and it doesn't need that much as the previous species...

  • @alizin2008 no a toilet cellphone

  • the battery life on smart phones is ridiculously short so guys stick to regular cell phones

    until they fix the problem

  • just charge the phone every night when you are a sleep, or don't u sleep?

  • when I got my G1 phone

I charge it for 24 Hr

    and

    with a full battery

    it only lasted 4 Hr

and dont tell me that history about :

you have to turn off all of the features

like 3G and GPS or WiFi

if I have to turn them off then whats the point of having them

  • @christianzen2004

Idiot -.- just open them when you need them..

  • read my lips:

if I have to turn them off then whats the point of having them

  • turn them off when you sleep. do use apps in your sleep? there is actually an app to help battery life. look it up or get a car charger

  • you don't have to uninstall them to shut them down.

I mean, do you throw your lights out the window when you want it to be dark? Throw the stereo out when it's too loud? Nope - you just turn them off (or close them in the case of apps).

  • @illkontiki

aim not talking about apps I'm talking about features

like 3G or the GPS or WIFI

turning off 3G is like turning off you're land line phone at night

turning the GPS off is like having OnStar and not paying for it

and WIFI well you get the idea.

  • i with having it all on my nokia n86 am having my battery lasting 72 hours. 8 hours of nonstop media running with sound.

  • don't take this the wrong way but you need to learn English before you give an opinion about anything

  • when I sleep my phone is in the charger any way so...

    it doesn't matter

  • This comment is full of lies :)

  • all it does is read the numbers under the barcode

  • @christrocfan Actually, it doesn't. I tried covering up the numbers and it can still recognize them with the lines. It would be even more difficult to scan the numbers and decode them..

  • will this work in the UK

  • lol sounds like al roker

  • it does lol

  • PLEASE SEND TO LINK OF SOFTWARE

  • w/e he's black.

  • Just another reason why Android is awesome :) iPhone's have something like this called Red Laser, however it's nowhere near as good as the scanners on Android. And the app works with any product.

  • @mrinehart93 They just submitted the iPhone version earlier this month. There's vids here on YouTube by the creator on it. It works instantly with and without auto focus too.

  • @Ninjaboy890 Well it can't recognize the barcode if it's all blurry ;)

  • there is a new app : Text Recognition Capture (camera) and translation various languages ( video about it on my chanel)

  • Now does this work with all barcode products like food at the grocery store or just books and electronics?

  • it works with everystihng scanned a box or rice crispies yesterday on my droid

  • is this al roker?

  • is this app free

  • totally free

  • Yeah you just aline the barcode and it scans it. Just as good as on Android.

  • I can do this with my iPhone...

  • Yes, but you have to take a picture of the barcode, and that takes quite a long time with the iphone.

  • Actually, they dont have to take a pic with a new update (redlaser 2).

  • BRILLIANT APP! Shopsavvy, i use it all the time! ABSOLUTLEY LOVE IT!!

  • I just bought the G1 and am waiting for it to arrive. Does the scanning software come with the phone now or do I have to go out and purchase it somewhere else?

  • spelt is not a word.

  • Actually, spelt is a word. It's a kind of wheat . I love correcting know-it-alls!

  • WOW! I'm so happy that you know how to use a dictionary. Despite that it's obvious he didn't mean wheat. Common sense comes before raw knowledge.

  • I didn't use a dictionary numbnuts! I already knew what that word meant. I work with cooks. Yeah, it's obvious he didn't mean wheat since he didn't even know it was a word at all. I bet you just couldn't wait to pull that quote out of your ass! You're about as bright as a 2 watt bulb.

  • unfortunately this isn't the place for namecalling. I never insulted you directly, only told you that your reply was pointless. as was your last. of course he didn't mean it was wheat, he meant as in 'spelled', but you had to go the long way around to prove your worth. he didn't know, or CARE, that it meant wheat.

  • Thank you Captain Obvious. We all await your profound words of dumbdom.

  • This is odd, I can't find the word 'dumbdom' anywhere. Hmm, it must not exist.

  • I made it up just for you. You're really gettin' internet butthurt over this aren't ya?

  • does your newfaggotry know no bounds?

  • Apparently you are. Only a 40 year old virgin internet geek would know that word. You are truely pathetic.

  • you just got trolled! bitch.

  • The truth hurts.

  • and it's spelled "spelled" by the way.

  • looollll

  • it was 24.99 local and 2.99 online ROFL

  • that is crazy but i dont want the g1 i want the htc magic

  • the g1 is better, but thats just my opinion...and also theres the touch pro omg that phone is amazing

  • my cousin has the g1 and i did not like it at all well the OS i liked but the phone overall i did not like, it was heavy, and big, and i use to have the tmobile wing and thats the main reason i got rid of it because of its size and plus windows mobile sucks LOL

  • ok well i like heavy phones because there durable and it also means there are good parts to it...and windows mobile sucks? as opposed to what mobile pc os?

  • i use a blackberry curve 8310 and love the os, but yeah i want light phones not heavy and chunky phones but im sure the G1 is a great phone overall

  • i dont realy like blackberrys, not crazy about there os and i hate there browsers

  • i love the blackberrys and the OS but im gonna try a google device and if i dont like it anymore or get bored with it then im gonna go buy a bb curve 8900

  • G1 doesn't use Win mobile it uses Android.

  • trust me i know LOL i said i use to own a tmobile wing which has winmo

  • I've sold mine touch pro, and bought this amazing phone :P

  • holy fuck !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sold your awesome phone for this lame design :O

!!! im NOT a hater.. i just think the design is ugly on this phone.. !!!

  • lol thts bad ass i just downloaded it n runnin around the house scannin every thing i can lol thanks for showin me this

  • pretty cool, huh?

    Not really

  • were cn you get that phone in the EU ???

  • netherlands, don't know about eire...

  • That is tight

  • is this app supposed to be used for people in the U.S because all the examples ive seen the prices are listed in $ or does is realise that you are in the UK and change the currency to £?

  • why would i need to be told where the book is if it has to be in my hand to use that function.and price comparison isnt a good enough reason

  • Because, lets say you are at Toy's R Us and you scan something that is priced at $50.00, with this app you can see if there is that product somewhere else for cheaper in your area. Plus it gives you internet sites where you could order it, and alot of times it's cheaper on the internet. So yeah, that's why.

  • samsung behold or g1?

  • g1 foe sho

  • Its the G1

  • so on the tmobile g1 the apps that say free are they really free or do they charge can i know asap

  • Its free dude. lol

  • does the iphone have an app like this???????

  • NO..

     hahahahha FUCK THE IPhone

  • Of course there is! It's an incredible app for G1, a common app for the iPhone. That's it.

  • LOL i am in AROTC i am a officer its funny how you talk all this retarted things when you dont know anything. i already talked to the recruiter and i have everything set up. And lol its funny how you say i work in burger when my dad owns a electric company.. I bet you this kids car is worth more than your life savings your house and everything you will ever own.. lol retard gtfo

  • Dude,

    1. Learn how to spell.

    2. Learn proper grammer.

    3. Learn how to type.

    Thanks. =D

  • O sorry, thanks for the english lesson i thought i was just typing not doing an English test:S

  • StyrofoamGuru needs to apply his Rule #1 to his Rule #2. Epic fail.

  • No, it was an epic fail. Thumbs up.

    "Grammer". Snicker-snicker.

  • the company is not called shop savvy, the application is shop savvy

  • Does this barcode-scanner works on every barcode(even in other countries than the usa)? because i'm considering to buy one, but I live in the Netherlands and I would like to see all apps running smoothly :P

  • theoretically it should work everywhere... at least the online stores part will work for sure.

  • nope, I try it everyday, it only works on things you could pull off the shelf at stores, i.e a bottle of water that came from a cooler by itself, but one from a pack of 24 wont scan...

  • It should hopefully. I also read that the scanner also works on QR-Codes(those little square barcodes that holds someones personal info).

  • actually no they don't hold peoples information. those square bacored are just urls to websites. search it on wikipedia

  • Actually, they do. I downloaded an app from NTTDoCoMo(japanese phone carrier) website and you could type in your Name, Address, and Phone number. The program will transform it into a QR-Code and print it out on something(etc. a Business Card.) You scan it, and you'll instantly get the person's info.

  • Oh, i didn't know that. kinda cool. cept if its on business card. it'll be a bit hard. i also read on wiki(i think) their now making picture QR-Codes. so you print out a normal picutre and the code is printed into it.

  • Are you serious? Now that is cool. =D

  • but i think it has to be a big q-r code, meaning you'll need a actuall QR-Code Scanner, cuz mobiles cameras are to small to read big codes

  • I have saved a lot of with ShopSavvy that app is awesome. The barcode scanner alone beats the Iphone by a landslide.

  • man u talk like a white guy... wow weird... but cool fun

  • "like a white guy" meaning correct english without any slang or lazy accent? Okay. let's see - that's why he has a "white guy" job and makes more money than you.

  • its funny you say because i am only a jr. after i graduate i will have the rest of my school payed for by the USAF and then become a fighter pilot.. just because i dint use full English doesn't mean anything retard. lol and how does he make more money than me? reviewing phones for youtube? LMAO and i accidentally wrote fun instead of phone. wow big mistake get off the web dude seriously do the world a favor and unplug your computer.

  • paid* not payed. and if you're only a junior, then you don't know if you're accepted into the ROTC program yet - you have to actually get into a school that has AROTC before you know for sure. obviously that will be a challenge seeing that you don't even know the proper past tenses of words. and if you're still in high school, obviously he makes more money than your minimum wage, part-time burger king job. shut up kid, you don't know shit about the world.

  • I use that application all the time works great for me.....LOVE IT

  • when iphone release app for this

  • only if iphone had slider keys like android..

  • Rowend, your a twat. You can pretty much find where to buy any item that you pick up. At a friends house etc... Think then comment. Twat

  • wtf. waste of time. but cool. lol.

  • Rowend912 your an idiot... you can scan stuff from a store and it compares it to other stores to find it cheaper it doesnt have to be something you bought....come on now think Mcfly!

  • Simply A-W-E-S-O-M-E

  • so does anyone else see the sense in this? "PLEASE PHONE....HELP ME!!...I CANT FIND THE ITEM THAT IS IN MY HAAAANNNNNND!"

(I guess it would be cool to see if it could find it for cheaper somewhere else, but thats all.)

  • Well scan the item you want to buy and see if your getting ripped off, sounds good to me.

  • android is tight as hell but the G1 is ugly as hell. come on HTC you could have made a better looking phone. until then i'm not buying a G1. i have the tilt. tight as phone still even with the release of the fuze.

  • thats on purpose... they dont want people to buy it because its pretty. They want people to buy it because it has android. That includes developers and who know what potential it has. And then when its really stable an solid, to come out with a beautiful one.

    Simple...

  • try the white one its really cool.

  • dodo309 learn english
