  • Interestingly, this song (done by Bobby Hebb in the mid-Sixties) was NEVER covered by the real Nancy Sinatra. Go figure.

JLH did an OK portrayal, but NS wasn't amused, naturally.

  • THat is girl worth fighting for.

  • I love it when Jennifer wiggles her ass.

  • nacy will you mary me gold.

  • where can u hear the full version? It sounds so goood ):

  • dommage pour le son :s

  • she's REALLY hot and a REALLY good actress and singer.

  • I wonder if Nancy would have ever gotten a shot without the name? Not saying she wasn't talented, but I've heard women who were just as talented in small clubs who could never get an audition with the right people.

  • i gues talent needs luck too

  • That is definately J Loves voice. Shes awesome lmao.

  • I know this song named Sunny, but could anyone tell me, who sings this version? I cant really find it /:

  • it's probably Jennifer herself, she is a singer after all

  • that is jennifer love hewitts voice

  • What's with the stupid wig?

  • she may have been actually playing Nancy Sinatra, not just singing as her.

  • How about a decent wig then? This looks like cheap acrylic, the characterisation is baaad.

  • what song is this

  • Sunny by Bobby Hebb, but I dont who the women is that is covering it

  • thanks

  • Couldn't they at least invest in a real wig instead of a $10 Halloween special? And find an actress who evoked Nancy a bit more? Did Jennifer also play Audrey Hepburn as well, with characteristically mediocre results? She should stick to whispering to them ghosts!

  • That was just hopeless. Usually big budget hollywood movies devote a significant amount of effort into accurate recreations of dress, style, and appearance. These clowns didn't even bother with decent lip-synchinng.

  • Man...there are some really mixed up people out there these days who would apparently rather watch the dreamed up version of old actors and singers.

Part of that is because most of these people they're imitating were never big stars anyway. I was there and Nancy Sinatra never was a BIG star. She had one hit and appeared on a black and white video of "boots" and that was about it. Same way with Johnny Cash, Janis Joplin and a bunch of others...not mega stars before death....Hollywood crapola.

  • this is so bad she doesnt even loook anything LIKE nancy sinatra

  • It's terrible....like other movies about the 60's and 70's. Everything looks Hollywood fake and wrong. Even the military guys look really fake, like a Disney Movie or something. Disney's great but: It's ok when they modernize Aladdin or something. That's fantasy.

This looks like a 60's costume part for kids. Bad stereotyping. My kids STILL think the 60's were JUST like that one girl pictured on the Woodstock movie cover....you know weirdest one there that the camera guys zeroed in on.

  • Nancy had TWENTY Hot 100 titles, if you count the duet with Lee Hazelwood. Out of these, NINE were Top 40 hits, SIX were Top 20, and THREE were Top 10. Your memory is flawed.

  • Thanks for the polite reply. I see we're same age, so I guess we were both there and just have different memories of it. I'm going on what was played on the radio and the three or four available TV channels at the time, not the stats on wikipedia. I've been a working musician since '65 and was very in tune to the pop and rock stations during her time. But I've been wrong before. Regardless, this video is a POOR representation of Nancy, and particularly the military of the day.

  • She wasn't a rocker, by any stretch of the imagination. But, if you were listening to Top40 stations, you couldn't miss her biggest four hits. And, this was in a time period numerous one hit wonders ... she wasn't one of them.

    BTW, not Wikipedia ... Billboard.

1 These Boots Are Made For Walkin'

    5 Sugar Town

7 How Does That Grab You Darlin'

    14 Jackson (With Lee Hazlewood)

    15 Love Eyes

20 Lady Bird (With Lee Hazelwood)

Character count prevents a full listing, but you wouldn't know the rest.

  • And, I agree with your judgment of this video, BTW.

  • she doesnt looki anythig LKE nancy

  • Young actors want to recreate stars from the past... yet they are unwilling (apparently) to do any research on the bodily gestures and attitudes and singing styles of that era. The result? A totally miscast, vanity production.

  • OMIGAWD couldnt they at least find a REAL actress to play her..this is so bad.

  • Some people feel that Jennifer Love Hewitt

did a BETTER version of this song than

Nancy Sinatra. In Jennifer's own words, she

improved on Nancy's effort...singing it fully

    instead of just "talk-singing" it...

Which,of course, didn't go down well with

the Queen Bee...Well,what is one to do?

    Naturally,re-creations of famous acts is

sometimes going to (figuratively) step on

    somebody's toes!

  • This song "Sunny" was originally done around

1966 by Bobby Hebb...I heard that Nancy

    Sinatra NEVER sung it!

  • The guest star policy on "AMERICAN DREAMS" was to have current musical (or actors and actresses with some "pipes") celebrities impersonate legendary pop stars of the mid-'60s. Only thing is, Jennifer doesn't even SOUND like "Nancy" here- she's about as convincing as Paris Hilton was as "Barbara Eden"...sometimes, "stunt casting" isn't the best way to grab an audience.

  • Is there anything more pathetic than someone who actually knows the guest star policy of American Dreams. Seriously Bro, I suggest you re-evaluate your priorities.

  • This is bad! Nancy's version is the original one, and of course better!

  • Jennifer is very cool as Nancy Sinatra, her version of "These boots are made for walking" is better than jessica simpson's poor cover¡¡

  • what is this from?

  • it's from american dreams, the best show ever to hit the nbc airwaves. it only last for three seasons and was about a catholic family in philadelphia in the tumultuous 1960s. the music, the actors, the storyline...everything about this show was great.
